Sony Fontopia Headphones, MDR-EX51LP

This is the Chevy Tahoe of Earbuds. They are about as good as it gets unless you really want the good stuff (Etymotic Research's ER-6i). I got these so I could concentrate at work over the noise of the copiers. As it turns out, they don't block quite as much sound as I would like but considering the price, I can't complain. The sound quality is a little better than Koss's in-ear buds and they are more comfortable for long periods. They are better than everything JVC puts out. My Philips surround-sound earbuds sound better but aren't near as comfortable and don't stay in as well.
I only have two complaints: 1) They don't provide much in the way of cord management for storage. The cheap plastic thing is an insult. 2) The cord is flimsy and looks like it is designed to last one day longer than the warranty.

AS you would expect from Sony these headphones are worth the $25 price tag, if you can get it for that price don't think twice.

These are very durable, as I have dropped them from time to time and they still work fine, unlike when you drop the headphones that come with your ipod.
They fit comfortably and have a great sound to them for the price. They project very nice bass and clean treble. I also have the $9.99 Sony's but these are noticeably more crisp and sharp and have much more bass to them than the cheeper model.
My 5 star rating would be reserved for a Bose headset, but I am happy paying much less and still ending up with a 4 star headset.

I bought this because of the specifications. It claims that it has a frequency response of 6Hz - 23KHz, Power Handling of 100mW, and a 4' length wire. After using these head phones, I find that they might work to well (If that is possible). I use these at work when I'm working on the computer (The reason for the 4’ length). When a good song comes on I have a tendency of turning it up a little. Well when it is up I can't hear the pages or my phone ringing (The pages and ringer are loud). They work like ear plugs for hearing protection. If they are not in correctly they don't work (what I mean is, you don't get the bass). The comfort level on these is great. I can wear them for hours with no discomfort, unlike my previous pair. The little case that comes with it keeps the rubber ear piece from getting lost. It also helps to keep the ear buds from getting tangled in the other wire. I carry mine in my backpack and it still gets tangled some, but not nearly as bad. The one ear bud has a short wire and the other has a long wire. The 4' length is from the plug to the ear bud with the short wire. I actually bought 2 pairs of these. The first pair was in the store for a huge mark up. The second for my wife online for a great price. I have been impressed with these so far.

I tried several other pairs of earbuds on my Sandisk Sansa e250 MP3 player and they all sounded terrible when compared to my Sennhieser buds I was using. All of the cheaper ones I tried had way too much low end bass and no mid and highs, even with the equalizer adjusted to compensate. These headphones are both comfortable and they sound great!! They provide enough low end along with Mids and Highs to produce great sounding music. I would highly recommend these over cheaper Koss and Phillips earbuds.

Great sound in a little inexpensive system. I bought this to replace my earphones that came with my SonyPSP, after they developed a short. They work amazing and with a brand name like sony you know they would be good. Great product!!

These headphones are better than any I have ever tried before. The music is so clear and they are so comfortable that you forget that they are even in your ears.

I have recieved these earbuds for christmas. I hooked them to my iPod Classic and they are AWESOME!!! They fit and sound 1000x better than the iPod default earbuds! I am a picky teen and I highly suggest these earbuds!

This type of earbud does stay into the ears even under sporting conditions. The low frequency response is excellent.
