I have owned three of these machines. The first worked for years until the top lid attachments broke where it attached to the basket. The next one lasted a few weeks before the wiper mechanism broke. The last one lasted only a few days before the wiping mechanism broke completely from the basket. I am going to use it as it is without the wiping mechanism.

I'm tolerant of minor design and function flaws, but this Mr Coffee product is totally unacceptable. The Braun I had before was a simpler design and worked 100 times better, but unfortunately it finally died. This Mr Coffee grinder was terribly disappointing as it simply will not do what it is supposed to do. It will make a lot of noise and you'd think it is working, but not so. You'll end up with a mixture of fines, some grounds in the desired size range, and a bunch of broken beans. Running longer won't grind all the broken beans, either. Just makes more fines. And running less beans won't solve the problem. Part of the problem is the blades are too high from the bottom of the cup, and it has a dumb 'scraper' that is supposed to loosen stuck fins from the grinding chamber. Instead, it interferes with the flow of the beans/grounds when it is running, and it is also in the way when you try to measure out the grounds.
It also has a couple of settings on the front that are supposed to run it for a period of time determined by the number of cups and the desired fineness. That feature never worked, but I didn't care for it anyway. I just held the switch down to let it run as long as it should take to do the job.
My opinion is that this coffee grinder is not a good value at any price, even if you get it free as a gift. If you do get one, take it back and swap it for some socks or something else useful.

Inconvenient and over-complicated

This grinder has extra mechanisms which I believe are supposed to keep the chamber cleaner, but they do not. They just make it very difficult to wipe out the bottom which retains a lot of grounds after grinding. I find the whole machine awkward and unnecessarily complicated. I am going to buy a new grinder and use this only as my back up. Don't buy!

This grinder does a great job, grinding my coffee beans. The top dispenser twist right off so it's easy to pour out the coffee grounds. It grinds the beans evenly in a matter of seconds. The pop off dispenser makes for easy cleaning. The only thing I don't like is the plug in cord is too short. This is a great grinder, at a very good price!

This item wouldn't grind all my beans on top of that i have to continue to push the start button the auto shut off is a joke, would be nice if it had a push and walk away button I had to keep trying to grind my beans that after the third attempt the motor burnt out if you Have any cats they will hate you for even running this thing worse then a vacuum cleaner lol

Works great, even after five years of use! One of the other things I love, is when you crank the top left and right, the three scrapers scrape all the coffee out. The ground coffee container is removable , so you can machine wash all the parts!
I normally wait for a few years after using a product, before I write a review, because we all want to know if it will last! this is a good one! and Walmart had the lowest price on it!

Mine failed first time I used it. The motor suddenly acted as if it were laboring then failed before the grinding was finished. It would not run at all after this. Manufacturing defect? Likely, although I have to wonder how rugged the design is. (*ALL companies get this once in a while) My old Krups grinder has never let me down after more than ten years. And the bells & whistles timer & grind selector? Useless fluff I can easily do manually with the old grinder. The chamber maid feature is nice although it does leave some material behind- not welcome if you are grinding spices. Removable chamber is nice indeed. Just a shame it didn't last past my first attempt!

We actually bought this to grind dry dog food (kibble) and it worked very well for that. Can't attest to the durability, but the price was great, the appearance is very good, and it works as expected.

This is great for grinding only the coffee you need at the time or you can grind a pound but little at a time. I like this because I like to only grind a small amount for 4 or 5 cups at a time. But I still have not figured out how to rewind the cord if I should pull it out all the way. I just left it short because I don't need it to be long. Over all I think this grinder is great.

I have two of these now. I have had one for grinding coffee for several years now, and just purchased a new one for grinding flax seeds. Easy to use and easy to clean. I previously had a grinder that was not easy to clean, as the bean cup did not come apart for cleaning---you had to wipe it out---not real sanitary! On this model, the bean cup lifts off and is easy to wash out. It has automatic shut-off for pre-set 4,6,8,10, & 12-cup amounts and has three grinds: fine, medium & coarse. I personally would recommend this product.

This is an awesome little grinder. The scrape feature really cuts down on the need to shake the machine, as would be the case with the older models. My only objection is the size. I wish they made one with a litttle more capacity. I would definitly buy this again.....if it would ever break! One last mention... the clean up with this product is a breeze.....a quick rinse with hot water and a few drops of mild dish liquid and all residue is removed. I do not put the pieces in the dishwasher.

We botught this for our grandson's fiance for Christmas. Actually had found it on another
shopping site and decided to comparison shop. This coffee grinder was actually less at Walmart than the other site. Packing and shipping were super and super fast for delivery

I had this coffee grinder for two years. I did not use it everyday, more like two days a week (on my weekends when I don't have to rush off). One month ago, the plastic guards inside of the chamber started to crack. One plastic piece fell off last week and then this morning, one of the guards completely broke off and got shredded up with the coffee. I tried to remove the little plastic-guard apparatus but you can't. It is only there to lock the lid on (still works without the plastic guards, just have to hold the lid down), so it is really useless as it just cracks and gets shredded in with the coffee. I tossed it. It served it's purpose for two years but seeing that I do not use it everyday, I would have expected a longer lifetime. It did grind the coffee up nicely. The only thing I am dissatisfied with is the life-span and the horribly-cheap housing. I think I will pay a bit more for a grinder with a steel housing, one that isn't plastic.
