Hard to Assemble!!!!, 10/06/2009
By onesuperluckygirl, Salt Lake City, Utah
Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 3 out of 5

We ordered this bike for my daughter thinking it would be the color in the picture. We had seen the orange and pink ones in the store and she preferred the red one online. When I went to pick it up at the site to store pick-up we notice that it was in fact the orange colored bike we could have bought in the store! Thinking that this would still be better, we took it home and began to assemble it. Let me just say that I am so lucky that my next door neighbor used to assemble bikes for a living! This bike was terrible to get put together! Our neighbor sat and adjusted the brakes, and gears for at least an hour. I would have never known how to do that. Although it was a nightmare to assemble, my daughter still loves the bike and I would still recommend it to anyone, I would just recommend you buy it in the store to save yourself hours of set up time!

I bought this bike last Christmas for my 9 yr old and he absolutely loves it. He has been through so many bikes but this one has lasted the longest. It still looks almost new. This bike is a great product for the price. I recommend buying this bike in the store because it is already assembled. I ordered it online and found the assembly to be some what difficult. I had trouble putting the handle bars on and still don't think they are on just right. Other than that this bike is GREAT!!!

Review 3 for Next 24" Boys' Power Climber Bike

09/20/2009

Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

There were other 24" bikes we found that were much better quality but they had the higher price tag to go with them ($180, $300, and higher). the old saying 'you get what you pay for' holds true with this bike - not a spectacular bike but a good youth bike that our son may use for a year or two, then need a bigger one. It came dis-assembled but only took about an hour or so to put together by a semi-handy person (don't need to be a mechanic). The gear shifters were a little tight and needed a shot of lubricant, but seem to be OK after that. All around, I think it was a good value.

This is a nice bike for the money. It rides well. The only problem is that the shifter is not easy for a young kid to turn.

Good Bike For A While, 09/12/2009
By epro
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

Have owned this bike for almost 2 years. I customized it with an odometer, cargo basket (cause I usually drive it to the store), a mirror, and a cup holder. It worked great until about two months ago. Then the kickstand rusted off and then the shifting cable broke. I drive this bike six or seven days a week. Just hit 215 miles on it. (About 10 of those being off-road) This is a pretty good bike, it rides pretty smooth, and is alright for a bit of off-roading.

Like it, but way too many adjustments, 08/22/2009
By swider
Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 3 out of 5

I like that it has dual suspension and that, so far it seems to be very durable. The downside is that it has so many adjustments and tuning on the gears, brakes, tires just to get it assembled safely and properly. We're still considering returning it due to now 5 adjustment sessions on the front shifter and it still is not shifting properly. Problem is that it is a great bike to ride despite that.

Mt. bike, 08/20/2009
By Looking2bike, Washington
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

This bike is great for what I bought it for, I'm 5ft so I went with the 24" and a boys, I just couldn't do the hot pinks and purples. The only thing is that the seat is extremely hard, my bum is in some major pain and I only rode for half a mile, so I am going to find something to help with that, also the geers are hard to turn. I went to Wal-Mart since it says you can find it in the store, which I did but I didn't get it for the $89, according to the managers you can only get the rollback price online, so I had to pay $96 bc I didn't want to pay shipping and I didn't want to wait 2 weeks to get it using ship to store, but overall it's great, I got it to haul my kids behind me in a trailor and it works!

Son loves his new bike!, 07/28/2009
By lov2camp, Kingsford, MI
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

Bought this for our ever-growing 9 year old son. Assembly was much easier than I expected. The back tire rim seemed to be bent though. But with a quick trip to Walmart, they adjusted the spokes and we were off riding. My son isn't too easy on his bikes. He loves to jump them and ride wheelies. BOYS! The bike is holding up well to this. He enjoys it a lot!

Sturdy bike, nice design/color, 07/22/2009
By BuyaBike, CA
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

Good sturdy bike, brakes better than most, burnt orange color and design a big hit with 9 year grandson who is as tall as a 12 year old, so may be too high for smaller boy. I think it's a lot of bike for a decent price. Definitely recommend this bike to other buyers. I believe there is also a girl's version.

Power climber bike, 07/01/2009
By mgoody4, Romeoville, IL
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 4 out of 5

The bike itself is a great bike. I didn't realize that it has 18 gears but my 11 yr old grandson has them figured out and is enjoying the bike.
The thing that I didn't like is that by ordering through Ship to Store, the bike was shipped from one store to the store that was nearer my daughter's home. This bike was in stock at their store, yet we had to wait over 14 days for it to be delivered.

Great Bike, 06/01/2009
By RSms, Edison
Overall Rating: 5 out of 5 5 out of 5

My son is 9 yrs old and wanted a bike that is reasonable and comfortable as well which he could enjoy riding..It is a lil big for him but he is really enjoying riding it and is able to balance it very well. The 20 inches bike was recommended for him but he could have used it only for an year or two..This bike he is loving it and will go a long way.

You get what you pay for., 05/21/2009
By ctb3, Arnold,PA
Overall Rating: 1 out of 5 1 out of 5

It's not a bad bike but it's not a good bike either. After I brought it home from the store I spent about a half hour adjusting everything and making sure everything was tight. About 10 seconds into the maiden voyage one of the low quality plastic pedals cracked and broke. I expected something to break but not that quickly. Hopefully when I get new pedals and get it on the trails nothing else will break.
