I was very excited to get my ACER unit, even tho it took FedX almost a week to deliver to my hse, shudve had it sent to a store, prob wudve been n a bulk shipment nxt day; however, when I booted it up the spec screen DID say Core i-5 560m, just like most of the othr reviews indicated, plus it was pretty clean, just had a few specs of somethng along the top of the grill above the keyboard. No HDMI Port, whch i knew in advance, is still strange, since most other units in this price range ($348) do seem to include that feature, but i figured that the i-5 & Windows 7 wud still make it worthwhile; plus, my unit is pre-loaded w/Microsoft Ofc. Word & Excel for NO add'l purchase fee.
So Ive been using the unit for a cpl days now & so far it's only booted me off th Internet once unexpectadely, but i thnk tht was more the WiFi signal than anything else, and i did receive a Microsoft Windows Update that asked me to reboot when i was ready to, othr than tht everything seems 2 b workn OK; will give U an update n a few weeks.

I purchased this computer for my husband. He is not computer literate.
So I did not want to go with Windows 8, as I have been told that it is
confusing.
The computer is much faster than his netbook was.
Once I got into the workings I also discover that it is an I5 Processor
So it is even a better deal than advertised.
Would recommend this computer to anyone that wants to stay with
Windows 7 for their operating system

very cool laptop, before purchasing I did my research on different laptops, and this one was the best fit for me. It did come with an intel core i5, but advertised a intel core i3, so that was a plus. it is way faster than I thought it would be. Nice key board and love that is has the number pad on it. negatives the battery dies after 2.5-3.5 hours. and its big, I didn't expect it to weigh this much, will be hard if you need a traveling lap top. would recommend.

After reading reviews i too junp into getting one . Comes with i5 m560 . So happy , i installed linux mint alongside windows , two systemes in one. This unit is fast. You cannot get a better deal on a i 5 in the market. Go get it before is too late.

The laptop I received was essentially unused - not a scratch or a mar on it. It also came with the i5 560M processor
instead of the i3 380M. The i5 has a passmark score of 2645 vs 2082 for the stock i3 380M - 27 percent faster.
Its pretty unusual that I don't see a better deal in the weeks after buying something, but I have yet to see a better
deal on a similar computer. Could not be happier.

After reading the reviews mentioning the i5 processor, I wasn't dissapointed when this one arrived with the first generation i5-540m inside. This laptop functions surprisingly fast even tho it looks (in my eyes) cheap and unattractive. The one received was grey with a non-fingerprint texture, except for a 1" bezel around the screen which is gloss black. The keyboard and screen has some flex to it when opening, adding to the 'cheapness' of the unit. The touchpad works rather well and the full keyboard is precise and quiet. The speakers are weak but ok unless you are in a noisy environment. If you want to show off your laptop at Starbucks, you might want to consider another with more 'curb appeal'. It seems a little large for a 15.6", but we don't haul it around town so no big deal. It stays at the house and has replaced our laptop for everyday use, due to it's portability and speed. Since the average lifespan of a laptop is 3-4 years, why pay twice the amount (or more) for a 'pretty boy' unit? This refurbished unit looked new except for a hairline scratch (not crack) on the bottom left of the screen that we can live with. You can only see the scratch at a certain angle when the display is off. The display is clear, sharp and bright. We wanted to avoid learning a new OS (Win 8), which is another reason we decided on an refurbished one. Besides that, what's wrong with Win 7? Not much bloatware, which was easily uninstalled. The wi-fi connected to our router with no issues. You won't be sorry if you purchase this unit. For $350 and another $50 for a 2 year peace of mind warranty, you can't beat this value for a fast pc. Normally we wouldn't purchase a laptop sight unseen, but with Walmarts return policy, what have you got to lose? We are more than happy with this purchase.

It's seems to be a good computer. Smaller than I thought & a bit heavier. Neither of which is a problem. I use a pc mostly but this is fine when I don't want to sit in the office. And I wanted Windows 7 that was a big factor. My husbands runs Windows 8 and I hate it. I wish we could always order a computer w/ the operating system we wanted .

Screen is average and not as bright as I would like, KB is solid, Touchpad is a bit touchy, a mouse is needed for extended use. Sound is a bit weak, even after all the updates, and firmware.
CPU is NOT Core I3 as advertised, it is an Core I5, a bonus.
No major issues so far.

It was a nice bonus to also see I have an Intel i5 pocessor. The sticker on the PC indicates it's an Intel Core i3 but the system config screen indicates it's an i5 processor. The responsiveness of this laptop is impressive. I have not encountered any issues. I do like the Windows 7 environment much better than Windows 8. I use Windows 7 at work so it was a big plus to also have Windows 7 on this laptop.

My only gripe is the service after the sale! I tried to contact the Acer service dept. after registering my computer, got to chat with a technician, was told it would be $30.00 to get an answer! I immediately signed off. The next time I contacted them and told them the serial number (which I previously gave them ) they said that I was not eligible for warranty. I assumed that I had a six month warranty as specified in the literature! Can you help me?

My search for a great deal on a laptop ended here with this one. After reading the reveiws, I ordered one. What a great laptop! Easy to set up, and was online in no time.
Mine was also the I5 like many have said, and checking it over very good I believe it is a new laptop I received as not a mark on it anywhere, and no signs of being used before. If you need a good everyday laptop, this is it!

I was checking out the reviews for this product and saw it mentioned that the processor was an i5 instead of an i3, I found this to be the case with mine as well, It came in as-new condition except it wasn't in the original packaging, it booted up right away and I backed up the factory settings which took no more than 15 minutes.
It runs all the applications I use it for very smoothly. ( I stream HD movies, Download music and play some flash games )
The laptop never skipped a beat, it also doesn't seem to get got hot, even during long movie watching/game sessions.

The sound is decent on it's own, but who these days doesn't use headphones with their laptop even if the sound were awesome on it.
To wrap things up I would recommend this laptop to anyone, give it a chance and you will be pleasantly surprised, I've had mine over a month and not a single issue has arisen.
* I would recommend upgrading the memory to 8Gb, costs about 25 to 40 Dollars *

I jumped on this when other buyers remarked this is actually an I5 machine. Can't beat $350 for an I5. I prefer Windows 7 Operating system in this Acer over the 8's on most laptops. This rebuilt looked like it was new. Easy set up. Only had it for a month, will let you know if it blows up on me.

I am in awe of this. I bought it because my $700 one was in for repairs (Toshiba - the hard drive went out but it was still under warranty). I figured I needed a back up and a smaller one to transport easier as my other is a 17". Reading articles, this exceeded what was recommended. It has 3/4's the storage and memory and such as my other. No probelm with the keys or volume. If I had a complaint, it would be that the touchpad is off center to the left since I am right handed but since I use a mouse it's not too much of a problem until I have to use it when I am on the couch or transporting. The price was a bit more that I planned on but I got a lot more for it. This is the first time I bought an Acer but my sister and brother-in-law both have one for their laptops and my mother has their monitor so I gave them a try. I am not disappointed.
