Nintendo WII Console Black w/Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort
WII Console With Wii Sports in Black offers five distinct sports experiences, each using the Wii Remote to provide a natural, intuitive and realistic feel. Players can use their own Mii caricatures in the game and play them against their friends' Miis for a more personalized experience. As players improve, their Miis' skill levels will increase, so that they can see exactly how much better they've become. WII Console With Sports Resort is a new collection of fun sports games that anyone can pick up and play. This sequel to the popular Wii Sports makes use of the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which gives players the most responsive and realistic experience possible. The Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is included with the WII Console With Sports Resort, plugs into the base of the Wii Remote controller and, combined with the accelerometer and sensor bar, provides an experience that gives players an even greater sense of immersion.

As I was unpacking the boxes, my first impression was the console is heavy for it's size with a very solid feel. Every part of the unit appears to be very well made, the joints are smooth, everything fits and no rough edges.
I bought the Wii because I have back & knee problems and figured it would be a good way to improve flexibility. While not as good a workout as a health club, it has the major advantage of being 1) here & 2) fun. When I belonged to a health club it took an hour out of my day just driving to and from the club. The Wii is in my living room, I can play anytime I want to. The sports games are fun and give an amazing amount of excercise. I wondered how much excercise it would be swinging the remote instead of a bowling ball, but after 3 games, I was quite winded. The different sports work different parts of body, arms, upper body, back, legs, etc. I haven't tried any of the actual workout games yet but have high hopes for them.
The motion controls make the games so much more realistic and fun that just sitting with a joystick and some buttons. I would recommend getting some extra remotes. Some of the games allow 2 players to share one, but others will require each player to have their own. I haven't tried the various brands to know how they compare to the genuine Wii but I can say that the Wii remote is well made and the rubber jacket makes it easy to hang on. Beware of remotes that do not have some type of rubber grip.
P.S. Heed the many warnings and wear the wrist strap. When you really start getting into the games its not that hard to let it slip and without it something (or someone) could easily get hit.

my daughter has a wii and she can play game cube games on her older wii. ON the one I just bought you can NOT play game cube games. other than that I am so far happy with it.

Looks great, works great! Said it would ship in 2-3 weeks, came in 5 days--LOVED that! It came with a remote which I didn't realize so that was a really fun surprise!! Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort are really fun games!! Love the new sword-fighting game. Everything was just perfect I guess!

My husband and I just love this Wii - it was a good bargain, too, since it came with Sports and Sports Resort, both of which have provided hours of entertainment. Spring seems to be coming late this year, so during those April blizzards we enjoyed playing a variety of sports/games, even though we were snowed in.

I have been using the Wii Sports and Resorts non-stop since I have gotten the console package. It is a great system and was extremely easy to set up. I am not crazy about the app for YouTube as it is difficult to just watch videos that are in a series without having to type in exactly what you are looking for. I decided to just use the web browser for it, but that still does not give all the options you get when on a computer. All in all, I would definitely tell a friend that the purchase was well worth it.

Xbox and platstation dont have games for very small children so this was good i did not want to spend on the wii u which does play dvds and has hd connection so i settled for this besides its a way to keep kids active in the winter games are also alot cheaper than xbox games
