bought this laptop as a replacement for an old desktop. mainly use for the net and non-massive multi-player games. sims 3(main game i play) takes time to load and save, but took just as long on a quad core desktop. took a little time to get used to windows 8, but really like it now. browsing speed is great and wireless net connect is super easy, no problems with connection or lag. gets a little warm, so i just leave it on a chill mat. has never overheated even after several straight hours of use.

I've had this laptop for about 2 weeks now. And so far, I love it! Not only because it's THE most beautiful shade of purple...EVER! :-) But it's really user friendly and works great! It helps that my husband is a network engineer and can help me with installs and such. I don't have anything bad to say about it. Works great, perfect size, great price & BEAUTIFUL! :-)

I use my computer for school and leisure and it works wonderfully. I love the 10-key option on the keyboard and the fact that there aren't gaps between the keys where gunk can fall in. I love the color and the options. Windows 8 is a different platform than I've had and it will take some getting used to but has nothing to do with the computer itself which is fantastic. It starts up fast and I love the tap and swipe options on the mousepad. I'm happy!

I just recently bought this laptop and it is a good buy! When I first bought it I had a little trouble with it as it was "blacking out" and freezing up too much,but the people at HP were very helpful and to fix this problem all I had to do was perform a system recovery. But I use it for hours every day and it is a great laptop. I love the color and even though Windows 8 slows things down on the computer, it is a very cool program. Recommend for anyone!

I purchased this item because of color. I am currently learning the ropes of a laptop. Touch pad is sensitive. Not real happy with Windows 8 but learning that too. Great price.. (got it before price went back up ).. :-) good value. Happy with purchase and delivery. I always have things is 3 - 4 days.

I was in urgent need to replace a dying, outdated laptop, this unit was a perfect replacement. Great value, but Windows 8 is not my favorite. W8 is more designed for tablets, and is not well suited for laptops, but if you are computer savvy, this is a moot issue. The screen is clear and bright, and easy to adjust the view. Battery life is good as well. Love the purple color too!! Overall a great laptop, and reasonably priced.

I have had my computer for over a month now. I am in college, and a fan of the social networks. its not only me but my two daughters with whom I share my laptop with and am so pleased to say I have had no problems with this product thus far. It runs perfectly. And windows 8 was a breeze for me, and my girls (8 and 11). but, it is still early so I guess we'll jus have to wait and see.

Being a regular computer user, I took the complaints about Windows 8 with a grain of salt. I figured far more experienced, advanced users hate it, but that regular, everyday users like me would be fine with it.
Windows 8 is absolutely hideous. I'm pretty sure it was made this way to compel us to all buy Windows 7. On top of the ridiculous "apps style" start up that makes it weirdly difficult to find anything, complex layout that makes it hard to figure out how to do simply tasks like turning it off, and the insanely irritating pop-out charms you can't shut off, Windows 8 deletes all your stuff with updates. No, I'm not kidding.
If you get ANY product with Windows 8, I highly recommend just buying Windows 7 right along with it. Otherwise, in 2-3 days, you'll want to throw your new laptop out a Window.
