I owned one of these prior to this one but when I had the battery changed at a jeweler, they didn't put it back together right. I went swimming and it filled with water. So I looked long and hard to find something as good or better and there wasn't anything. So I bought the same one again - should say something. I travel a lot and having 3 timezones was a plus. Also having repeatable alarms like anniversary, B-days, etc is great.

Strengths: I've had one since it came out. My watch currently has all my appointments, all phone contacts, current 7-day weather for three cities, chronograph, B-days/anniversaries (an appointment or B-day this week are indicated), sci calculator, notes (e.g., frequent flier numbers), monthly calendar, US holidays and religious (downloaded from Web-iCal format - Note: I could have had multiple schedule like sports), world time, random die roller. It's only 2/3 full. It downloads updates in 15 seconds from your PC. It also tells the time (accurate as the atomic clock updates into my PC). Great user's group. There is no subscription (but no web access). Battery lasts a year. Inexpensive PDA. It is wonderful.
Weakness: Need a protector for plastic 'crystal' (e.g., PDA protector). Ugly band.

This is my second datalink watch. I had the first version for years of rough wear. I am in the military, so it was used hard. I have enjoyed the usb connection on the newer version. I have had mine for 3 years now and love it. It is programmable much like a computer. You can download what is called wristapps. They can perform multiple applications. If you do an internet search you can see what I mean. This watch is gear essential.

This watch is easy to program and it is very useful for helping to remember important dates. It is also very convenient to have all important phone numbers right at my fingertips. This is my second one. I work in a factory setting and am pretty rough on watches. The first one wore out after 5 years.

This is the greatest watch I have ever owned. Infact this is my second. First one sprung a leak after a battery change.
This watch does everything but go to appointments for me. Alarms, timers, reminders, birthdays, memos, appointments, phone numbers, even football and baseball schedules. And fully progamable too. Even some games you can download.
Its only draw back it sucks down batteries like an electric car. Every 5 to 6 months and you need to be fairly skilled at tiny little screws to change it out. Thats all. Its Like a PDA on your strapped to your wrist and if your absent minded like me it won't walk off like your phone/PDA.

I have had one of these watches since they first came out. The first one you would hold the watch in front of your computer and the computer would flash a bunch of lines and download into the watch using an electronic eye on the watch (no USB cable). I like the new one better. My only problem is that the watch band breaks every now and then and I usually have to order one online because no one carries one in stock. I have really impressed some people when I went looking for a phone number in my watch!! Keep up the good work Timex!!!

Have had many Timex watches but this was my first Data Link. It is very intuitive when using the online program.and I was very impressed with the 'Occasion' function. When you enter a birth date, it will return the name, date, and age of the person you have entered. Very easy to read.

I looked at other timex ironman watches currently for sale but most did not have the multiple timers this one has. You have to reset the other timers each time you use them. Sucks! I had an older model ironman before but the display was harder to read, especially at night. This one is great all day and all night long. I like to see the time when I wake up and this one works great. I also add 20 or so phone numbers, combination numbers, whatever to the 'contact' area. It has saved me many times. Definitely recommend.

I have had several Timex Data Link watches over the past several years, and even given one to my wife because they are so handy to keep track of phone numbers and always be with you. I'm a diver and have never had a problem with this watch in the water. I change batteries about every 18 months, but no problem with the water seal. I love it.

I found the programming throught the USB connector to a PC fairly easy to do. The window makes sense. I have a Mac at home so I needed to use my work PC to program this watch. So far I am quite happy.
