I love this laptop. It's fast and easy to use once you get used to Windows 8's quirks. Yes, if you don't like Windows 8 or don't want to learn all the little swipes that cause menus to come up at unexpected (or unwanted) times, then stick with Windows 7.
I love the fact that I don't ever have to use the power button. When I open it up, it turns on, when I shut it down, it's from the main lock screen. I have no problems at all with the laptop. It's light, travels easy and the battery life is pretty amazing. I love the little eco-friendly notice that pops up when I've been using it in an environmentally friendly way.
I read that some people had issues with typing on the keyboard. I haven't experienced those problems but it does take a little while to get used to typing on a completely different type of keyboard. The keys feel different than a traditional laptop keyboard so some might have issues if they don't do a lot of typing and don't get used to the new layout. (I went from a Dell to a Toshiba.)
I love the 10-key. I use it all the time.
One issue I have is that they changed the function keys (F1-F12) to require an extra key to use them, the function key. I find this a little annoying because instead of closing a window with Alt+F4 (since Windows 8 eliminates the X in the corner when using an app from the start screen) I now have to use Fn+Alt+F4. Or I have to go to the left-hand menu, if I can get it to come up, right-click and choose close (Again, windows 8 quirk).
If you have a friend or family member that has one of these laptops I definitely recommend you to ask if you can check it out, regardless of whether it has windows 7 or 8 on it. Or hit your closest Walmart and see if they have any you can test the keyboard out before buying (that's what I did).
I waited as long as I did to review this laptop because a lot of the reviews I saw were within a week. I don't feel I can accurately rate a product without a long period of use.

I bought this laptop after looking at several websites for similarly priced laptops. After using it for about a week, I began having problems with the system freezing. It will not respond the the mouse or keyboard. I read online on some the the support blogs and believe that it may have to do with Windows 8. Another possibility is the wireless network adapter might be causing a problem. I'm not a computer expert, I just know that the laptop is basically worthless because it locks up almost immediately. One thing that does work is hooking up and USB mouse and keyboard. The system will respond to those. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a laptop though. I really don't want to have to return it because it I set up my Windows ID and email information, so it has some of my personal information on it. I don't really have the time to try to download fixes and such because I'm not a computer expert. I just need a working laptop. If I had it to do over again, I would get a laptop with Windows 7 until the problems with Windows 8 get resolved.
