The Panasonic Black Lumix DMC-SZ7K 14.1 Megapixel Digital Camera features high-quality optics to produce consistently high-quality images. With this Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera, you can record videos with stunning clarity, fine details and true audio in Full 1080p High Definition (HD). Pictures that were once out of reach can now be taken with the 10x Optical Zoom Kit that comes with the Panasonic Lumix Digital Camera. The camera is capable of digital red eye correction, image stabilization and comes with an automatic on/off flash. Features of the Panasonic Digital Camera include 70MB of internal memory with the expandable capabilities with either a SD/SDHC/ or SDXC memory card (not included), a rechargeable lithium ion battery and 3" Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) image editing with PHOTOfunStudio 8.0. Files supported by this Panasonic Digital Camera include JPEG, AVCHD and MP4.

I have owned 3 Sony digital cameras. I continued to buy them for myself and family members because I knew how to work the "features" and I liked the onscreen menu's. But I was always unhappy with how long it took to take the picture when I pressed the button.....huge lag time, I always missed "the moment". And I could never really get the quality pictures that I wanted. I even spent some serious money on the Sony Cyber-shot DCS-HX1, never got it right.
So I decided to try and sell the HX1 on Ebay and buy an inexpensive camera. After reading reviews on multiple websites I decided on the Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7K. I LOVE this camera. It is so easy. Turn it on. Take pictures. And they ALL turn out GREAT. SO easy. AND.....I can snap multiple pictures in a row, faster than any other digital camera. And even more importantly.....it is soooo small. Smaller than my cell phone. I got a kit that included a camera case and 4GB SD card- Walmart was MUCH cheaper than other sites. I also like the fact that you can just plug the camera into the wall with a cord, or charge it plugged into your computer. You do have the option to take the battery out and charge in the wall, but nice to have choices.
I have nothing negative to say about this camera. I am a real mom, needing a real camera to take pictures of my family. It is easy. It is fast. and the price was definitely right!

its a good camera the thing i dont like is when you take a panorama shot it doesnt flash so thats a down and the picture come out ok i feel like i have to adjust it myself for it to take nice pics the good thing is that it takes beautiful video in hd wow and the zoom is really good its a good deal i recommend it and it only 100 so thats cheap

I am an artist who uses a camera for graphic art. I need a good image to photoshop as an eventually graphic or to paint from where setup speed dominates but where reasonably good resolution (14+MB), crisp images, portability and full features are still required. This is an excellent camera for that kind of work.
To be able to do all of the above also means it is a good camera for everyday snapshots with a good IA (Intellengent Automatic) mode. But its deep menu choices may be a little daunting for the beginner; i.e. there may be more to this camera than is really needed for ordinary snapshots.
It is particularly good if you are going to photoshop the image anyway,whether it was taken with a big camera or small, and/or use the prints in other artistist manners . It has a really good menu system but, then again, I am familiar with Panasonic's menu system from previous Panasonic cameras I have owned.
I think Panasonic's camera strength is its value-to-price ratio and good industrial design--you get a lot for your money. And at their prices you can afford to purchase a new camera every two years and keep up with newest electronics. I like the fact that Panasonic keeps the menu fairly consistent from model to model, year to year. I do not have to learn a whole new metaphore system.
It is incredibly light. Has a good telephoto. Charges fairly quickly. Good battery length. Has a multi-shot delete. A nice camera with excellent industrial design.

Great Camera - Poor battery life

This camera takes great pictures. I bought it to take on a trip where I'm not going to be able to charge the battery any time I need to, and have found out that the battery life does not last one day. That is a real bummer for me, because I will have to purchase an extra battery to carry along and they cost about $30.

I Really Love this camera! It takes very beautiful pictures 90% of the time. If you are indoors with very low light, especially if it's a yellow tinted light, then it lacks a little, but Outdoor pictures, Indoor with good light, even night and macro shots are GORGEOUS! The one thing about it I was very disappointed in, is the short battery life. My Wife and I fully charged the battery before going to watch a Christmas parade and took pictures and recorded some video for no more then 40 minutes (Off and on, not even continuously) and the Camera Died and to top it off, you cannot have the camera on while you are charging it. You will want to buy an extra battery and a charger for it if you plan on using it for long periods of time. Other then that it's a great camera for the price. Ours even came with an 8 GB SD card instead of the advertised 4 GB. It also arrived at our store (Site to store) very quickly!

Very Compact/Reasonably Good Pictures

I bought this camera to replace a Samsung SL50 in the hopes of getting better pictures while still keeping a very small profile camera that can always hang from my belt. I do get better pictures, but not a lot better. A cell phone camera is compact enough to replace the SL-50 but lacks the versatility of the SZ7. The DMC-SZ7 has a reasonable number of whistles and bells and most are easy to access once you figure out how. My biggest complaint is that the owners manual is only available as a PDF file and even that manual could be a little more comprehensive. The camera has a solid feel to it and has a very small slip resistant area on the back, but another on the front would have been appreciated. Battery life is not great but I solved that problem by buying a Wasabi Power charger (about 20 bucks) that came with two spare batteries. Now I nearly always have a spare in my pocket. A bonus is that the Wasabi unit allows me to charge the battery out of the camera. I am still trying the camera out and I have not used all of the functions, but I have found that most of the scene modes work as advertised and I'm pleased with the 10X optical zoom (try to get that in your cell phone). If you don't mind a little noise you will get good low light results and this has been an improvement over the SL-50 when doing sporting events shots. The camera focuses very fast. I have no complaints about the LCD screen; however, I would gladly give up the LCD for a viewfinder but viewfinders are about a thing of the past in point and shoot cameras. The camera shipped with a SDHC card and a decent small case that will hold the camera but nothing else. Bottom line is that the camera is no Canon Rebel but it is much better than your cell phone and it takes reasonably good pictures and has a lot of real optical zoom power in a very compact package.

This is the best deal on a digital camera. Photos are crystal clear. We even got crisp clear photos taken in a moving car on the highway. Videos are of the same quality. Simple instructions & easy to use. Light weight and small enough to carry in my pocket or purse. I compared similar cameras and you cannot beat the price and quality. I was totally impressed!

A STEAL on a Very Good Camera

These have been discontinued by Panasonic,and this is a "blow-out" price. The regular price for the camera / with kit (SD Card and case) is $150. I looked at many sample images online. It's not for taking 8x10 or 11x13 glossies, but it's really svelte and easy to pocket!!! I have the "big brother" cameras to this one, the ZS7 and ZS3, with all the same software and similar hardware, just not as good of a lens The software platform is the same. Set ISO MAX = 400 for good indoor pictures, and this camera is a STEAL, I bought 2x of them, one for each of my 11-year old sons!

Seems like a great camera. Get to know all the options such as white balance and type of conditions you are taking pictures in and you will get great results. Video is ok and is full HD.

I love this camera and have already recommended it. The only drawback for me is the same for all cameras in this price range, I miss a view finder. I found a review I read before I purchased helpful about the battery charger and extra battery. I don't like charging the camera and would prefer charging batteries so purchased the external charger. The camera itself is great, love the scenes mode.

I was looking for a new camera because I needed to replace my Nikon Coolpix S3100, which was a piece of junk. I saw the great price for this Lumix and decided to buy it. I'm very happy with this camera. It's very lightweight, easy to use, and pictures come out great. Zoom is awesome and the shutter speed is very fast. Looking forward to using it for Christmas pictures with the family and a beach vacation in January. Comes with a nice case and SD card too. I got sent a 8GB SD card instead of a 4GB (thanks Walmart!).

This is a great little camera to keep in my purse for those wonderful moments I'm not expecting to need my DSLR camera. It definitely serves it's purpose. I have taken numerous shots and am still learning but good results so far. Quality is acceptable but I wouldn't use this camera for pictures I intend to enlarge and frame.
I bought one for my mom also and she finds that it might be too small for her hands because of her arthritis ~ there is really nothing to grip and I would be scared to hold it without the strap.
Battery does run out EXTREMELY fast. I will definitely need to purchase a second one. This is the only reason I didn't give a 5 star.
