Outstanding computer-
Pros: This is the perfect computer for all of your basic needs and a steal for the price.
Cons: Windows 8, it's so buggy and annoying I wish that I could have a computer like this without windows 8, it's like the MAC Operating system of PC, absolutely horrible.

Hi. I'm a web developer and I bought this laptop a month and a half ago. It originally came with Windows 8, I wasn't a fan of Windows 8 so I installed Ubuntu 12.10. It seems to fit every need that I have both as a web developer and as a regular user. I also play Manic Digger religiously, and it completely covers that. It has officially became the most epic computer I have ever owned. The features are immaculate and it almost refuses to fail,

Worst Computer Ever Owned

I purchased this laptop and within one week the track pad broke so I had no mouse. I returned it to Wal-Mart, as they would accept returns within 15 days. I purchased the same product. Since the day I bought it, I have had horrible Internet connectivity. I constantly get kicked offline, and any time I closed the laptop, I would lose the connection. A lot of the rest of the time I could not connect at all. I spoke with Gateway's customer service at least 20 times (no joke), and each time I was given a different run around. I was told that I needed to download a wireless driver, which did not work. Then I was told that because the keys constantly stick, particularly the spacebar, that the issue was with Windows and that the only way to solve both problems was to reformat the hard drive. I knew this was not going to work and asked the guy that before I went through the hassle of backing up all of my files and then re-downloading programs, if he could guarantee this would fix the problem. He promised it would. It didn't. The next guy told me I probably had a virus on one of my drivers, even though I just reformatted the hard drive. Last night, after nearly two months of their run around, I was told that this whole time the wireless card has been broken. Now I have to send it to Texas to be fixed, which will take 7-10 days, not including shipping time. The customer service is horrible and they do not care about their clients in the least bit. I had been a loyal Gateway customer since 2003, but will never purchase a product from them again.

Love it, a bit hard to get used to at first since it's windows 8 but after a few weeks I got it. Love the screen, its big and colorful. I truly recommend it.

I bought this laptop because of its features and the affordable price. Although, at first, I wasn't used to Windows 8, I've now learned to navigate around it pretty well. It's fast and it does what I need it to do. I wish the speakers were a little louder, however, for the price, it's a good buy!

I purchased a Gateway in 2009 and opted not to insure it. Bad idea. But it was dropped twice by my son and niece. I paid over $500 for my computer and needless to say I was very happy with the price I recently paid for the new Windows 8. I did insure this one and am very pleased with the features and style of the Gateway.

Got it off the website, and it worked great for two days. Then it started to drag. Then it froze, and I had to manually restart it. Now it won't start at all. This is brand new, people. Very unhappy.

Great laptop for the price! I found Windows 8 easy to use - just takes some getting used to. I've had mine for about 2 weeks and no complaints here. Delivery was quick and it actually arrived before the estimated delivery date.

I expected to buy a computer I could use immediately. At this time and after many years using windows versions, I have to learn to use this laptop because has a totally different presentation. And additionally has not Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel)installed, something that I didn't expect. I didn't not select Mac, because I don't like it and this version is like Mac. So now I have to pay more to instal the basic program M.O and take time to be able to work in it. I'm really disappointed!! I'm thinking about to return it!!

Windows 8 is new and like any other "new thing" you have to learn it and figure it out. Very differnt from past software and operating system. The computer keeps cutting off whether you are working in a process or not. I may be returning have to call microsoft to see if they can help me fix the problem. Have had it for 2 weeks and I think it needs to go back.

I absolutely love this laptop. I purchased it two weeks ago and it has met all of my expectations. Windows 8 does take a little bit of getting used to but I just use the desktop option which takes you to a regular screen w/o using Windows 8 and I bypass it that way. I purchased a wireless mouse which has given me so much flexibility. I also like how it has a 10-key keypad. My last laptop didn't. The only thing I would complain about if I just had to is the volume. It isn't as loud as I hoped for but it will work for me.
