While close up photos with this camera are OK if you try to use the zoom at ALL, the view and the pictures quickly become distorted and grainy. I wanted a digital camera to use for my daughters gymnastics events and this is useless unless I'm right on top of her. Also the brand new set of batteries died half way through the event so you have to keep a supply on hand if you're going to use it for more than a short time.

This is my second vistaquest camera,I use mind on fishing trips to baja ca.it great for close up shots. and the price is great too!. so I bought this one for my daughter when she goes on field trips . she has used it once already the picture are great!
