Bought on black fri broke two months later , replaced the Monday after Super Bowl just broke today 5/16/13 that makes twice same problem in six months ,thank god I bought the three year extended warranty because by that time I maybe on my twelfth tv (@ this rate ) buyer beware

About two weeks ago, I was watching our 60" smart tv, when the screen suddenly went black, but the audio was still playing. I turned the tv off and when I tried to turn it back on, nothing happened. We purchased the tv from Walmart on 12/22/12, and it was past the 90 day return time. Actually, I should say that we returned a plasma tv we bought from Walmart shortly before that because we thought the Vizio would be cooler and the other Vizio we have has lasted. After the tv went black, I read a lot of reviews online that said that this was a common problem with the 2012 holiday models. Most people owned their tvs for a much shorter period than us before they went black. Some people were able to take them back to the store where they were purchased but others had to deal with Vizio. Everything I read said that dealing with Vizio was a lost cause, but I really had no choice.
On May 7, I called Vizio and told them my problem, while preparing for the worst. I am an attorney so I figured that if nothing else, I would at least give them an earful. The customer service representative asked me if I could still hear sound when the tv blacked out, and I told him that I could. He asked me if I was in front of the tv and I knew he was going to ask me to try to reset it, so I told him that I had read online that unplugging the tv and holding the power button for 10 seconds, then plugging the tv back in, sometimes fixes the problem. He asked me, then, if I had already tried unplugging it and plugging it back in. I told him that I had. In response, he said that since I had already tried to troubleshoot it, there was nothing left to do but replace it. He said he would put an order into their shipping department and that the department would contact me within 9-13 business days to set up a time to come in and swap out our old tv with our new tv. He also told me that he has to say 9-13 days, but in reality, it is usually much quicker than that. I thanked him and hung up.
On May 10, I got an email from the shipping company to set up a delivery date and time on their website. I set it up for today, May 15, 2013, between 12-4pm. I told my husband that they'd probably be at our house closer to 4pm as most companies run right up to the end. To my surprise I got a call at 10:07am and the driver said he would be at our house in about 30 minutes. Sure enough, they showed up, swapped the tvs and left us with a brand new model.
Am I excited that our tv went black on me in the middle of a show? No, not really. However, sometimes products are defective and all that companies can do is make the return/exchange process painless. Regardless of what everyone else said about Vizio, they were really great to us and very quick to get everything taken care of. I would recommend their customer service and products to anyone. I think a lot of the people who have problems with these companies are people who don't like to be proactive, or are just hard to deal with in general!

So far so good. I love having Youtube, Netflix and Amazon right by my fingertips without having another dozen wires hanging all over the place. The picture is great, but I'm still working on getting the sound to work for the room it's in. And it's much faster with the net apps than my older Visio, the load time is next to nothing and youtube (the older one has issues running some long movies in youtube) runs much smoother. Here's hoping it continues to perform as it has so far. :)

I Couldn't be more impressed! I was a little worried because I read some reviews saying how this TV didn't have great blacks. I was so impressed with this TV! My Blacks are great! It looks like people on the TV are standing in your living room!

This is a great TV. My only issue is that that sound comes from rear speakers that bounce the sound off the wall. This is true of most LCD TVs. The result is that the sound is a biy muffled.

Wow, Wow, Wow!!!! This TV is awesome. The picture quality is the best I have ever seen. Everything looks so realistic as if you could actually reach out and touch it or step right into it. The sound is awesome too. My family really loves it. I plan on purchasing other ones for the home as well. I would highly reccommend this T.V. especially for the value because it rivals many of the higher cost and supposedly better brands.

I purchased a Vizio on black friday, 4 months later the picture goes out. I had read the reviews and there were a lot of complaints about Vizio being of poor quality. Reviews saying Vizio would not help with any repairs and the delivery of the products always took longer than planned. Although the TV went out after 4 months the company took care of me. I had no problem with the customer service on the phone who were from the US and spoke English, the company sent me a brand new TV, and the delivery company delivered the TV as promised. I am happy with my experience with this company and would recommend there products to my friends. This is the first review I have ever written, and just felt I should give credit where credit is earned.

The overall quality of this Vizio tv is great for the price. The remote on one side/keyboard on the other makes it super easy to use all the wifi apps. The picture is great on blu-ray, satellite, and digital antenna. The sound is good but not the best. In order to get an owners manual you have to go to Vizios web site wich is kind of a hassle. Overall money well spent.

I have had the Visio 60 inch tv for 5 months now. It developed an issue where it would not turn on and I had to unplug it for 15 seconds then plug it back in. Then it turned on and ran fine. I called Visio to report the issue and they were unbelievably courteous, supportive and believe it or not caring. I was probably the best customer service experience I have ever had. I was also informed that the TV warranty has been extended to two years because they have had issues with TV's with audio but no Video. They also informed me that if the TV does this again they will send me a new television or have on sent out to actually perform an exchange with a new TV. Excellent. Visio has got it going on! I was told that Visio's main concern is that I have a reliable Visio Product that will give me years of service.

Do not buy this TV!! The picture quality was ok until the TV broke. Now there's a red vertical line through the middle of the TV. Vizio customer service has been less than helpful, or in my opinion honest. I contacted Vizio customer service and after many hours of dealing with this and wasting my time sending pictures of the tv and pictures of the receipt. They told me they would be sending me a new TV. At that point I was satisfied, they had saved me as a customer, I understand, stuff happens. The next day they call me back up and let me know that they will not be sending me a new TV but rather a recertified TV. What a joke . After speaking with multiple customer service representatives at Vizio it got me nowhere, they absolutely refused to send me a new TV even though I bought a new TV. They also informed me that this TV had a known issue that affected 2 percent of the TVs within a two month manufacturing window. After asking multiple people why I couldn't get a new TV they finally told me that they couldn't send me a new after 90 days; they have photos of the tv and a photo of the receipt. It had only been two months and I informed them that it had only been two months!! I was then put on hold, when the customer servervice representative got back on the phone he informed me that the retailer I bought it from only had a 30 day return policy and that is why Vizio couldn't supply me with a new tv. Really...I bought a new tv not a recertified one. Vizio supplied a tv, which they knew quite possibly would have issues and i buy their defective tv. And now they absolutely refuse to send me a new one. They have burnt this bridge of me being their customer. To top it off the recertified TV they sent me was damaged in transit and now I'm still stuck watching a TV with a vertical red line through the middle of it. Its not even funny at this point, not that it ever was funny . Do yourself a favor and buy a different manufacturers TV. One that will actually satisfy their customers and not repeatedly change their story.
