The only complaint I have is the bike did not come with a kick stand, there is a spot for one to install but I wish it came with one because once the training wheels come off I dont want the bike just laying on the ground. Other than that I am super happy with the quality of the bike! (-:

A very good value for money and something most boys will love.
Pros : 1) At Walmart already assembled and ready for pickup 2) Trainer wheels 3) Front and Rear brakes and pedal brakes too. 4) Unbeatable Walmart pricing
Cons: 1) I personally wish that the seat be allowed to raise more i.e. the vertical steel column to which the seat is attached needs to be longer. 2) Walmart needs to tighten the trainers more as the bolt comes loose and just need somemore tightening.

This is not bad especially the height and colour since my son loved it the moment we took it out of the box. My complain is, it gave us a headache to put them together since it did not come with allen wrench or whatever it maybe called. At the end I have to call a family friend who is a mechanic to bring his tools to come help us. Before they send or ship this items the company or whoever stocks need to make sure all tools needed to assemble are attached, since at times females may also try to assemble them. In the nut shell we got it put together, now the paddle is another problem for my son. it seem too tight or too difficult for him to paddle so it now sitting in the basement. When I have some days off I'll spend moretime with him, by the way he is five now.

Review 5 for 16" Mongoose Mutant Boys' Bike
Lasted 1 summer

We are entering our 2nd bike season with this bike and the tires have worn through to the tubes and now need replacing (bike is out of commission during 6 winter months of the year). The bike seat is cracked in 3 places, the chain cover is coming off and luckily our son doesn't use the front hand brakes because the don't work due to the fact that the cables have worn. Both hand grips and both pedals have been replaced already. Bike should have come with a kickstand because it can't withstand a 4 year old setting the bike down on the grass or driveway when he's not riding it. The bike never spent a night outside of the garage so why does it look so incredibly worn?

Review 6 for 16" Mongoose Mutant Boys' Bike
Great value and the choice for being seen!

I'm writing up front (just tried it for the first time today) because I was pleasantly surprised by the color. It is florescent highlighter almost glow in the dark orange on the body and rims. This bike will be seen much more readily by cars and safety is job #1! I'm pleased with this feature. It is quite heavy but having read the weight on lots of bikes in this category/price range, I was expecting it. The seat is quite hard and sits inside of a plastic lip and I wonder if my child will find it bothers him. It looked good and he's riding it just fine! I chose it because of having hand brakes and its styling (not Disney or loggo'd since I'm expecting this bike will be used for 2-3 years and their favorite characters change).

Review 8 for 16" Mongoose Mutant Boys' Bike
Super Heavy

Super heavy. As pretty much any Mongoose Walmart bike, this one is no exception. According to Walmart the shipped weight is 30.8 lbs, which makes the bike weight about 30 lbs!!! Mon 5 y.o. learned cycling on it, but I would not recommend it to young kids because it is so heavy! My chromo framed adult bicycle is about 18-19 lbs! And this monster is about 30lbs!!! Learning wheels are pure trash. Bearings and various bolts are rusting.

The handle bar became loose rotating frontward to backwards. Tried to tighten all four screws but poor design will not solve the problem. The handle bar has splines but where it meets the yoke is a smooth surface therefore will not stay engaged allowing the handle bar to rotate. Only had one week and will be returning not to buy the same brand. Very disappointed in Mongoose.

bought this bike as a first bike for my 4 yr.old. not built like the mongoose bikes from the 80's & 90's. will work fine though because my son will probably outgrow it in a year or two. $76.00 price tag seems to be a fair price. you get what you pay for.

Great idea, poor quality

Bought this for my 5 yr old, and it was great for learning to ride with no training wheels. Loved the look of it and the brand, but was very disappointed with the quality. It faded horribly within the first couple months and the seat completely disintegrated in under 1 riding season.

I ordered this for my grandson's 6th birthday and he loved it. It was the perfect size for his small frame, and he loved the bright orange color. Easy to assemble.

I bought this bike for my son's 5th birthday. It's an awesome bike! I love that it has hand breaks (front and back) and foot breaks. The only thing that it needs is a kickstand. My son doesn't need training wheels so we took them off. My husband put on a new kickstand and also back pegs so my son could do "tricks." The color is VERY bright orange. You will for sure be able to see your child on this bike. I have no complaints about this bike, and I would recommend it to anybody who is looking for an awesome bike at a great price!

My son turned 6 and loves this bike. Of course, took off the training wheels because he hasn't needed them for years. Handbrakes and footbrakes. Looks cool enough for him to like for several years. No issues.

The bike arrived quickly as was promised. My husband put it together with no problems. It is for our grandson for his 4th birthday. I'm sure he is going to love it. Orange has always been his favorite color. I like that it has coaster brakes and hand brakes. I can't wait to see his expression when he sees it.
