Battleship builds from the foundation of a young man with a trouble life and through the help of his level headed brother, he discovers a new life direction but has a few obstacles he must still over come. A fight for his life and thousands of other Naval men and women, he becomes the man his brother attempted to mold. The story remains cohesive through out with the exception of when the troubled sole becomes a Naval officer to the rank of lieutenant within the blink of an eye. That part of the movie should have been developed in order to prevent a bump in the story line. Putting that area aside, the action is intense and the special effects are very good. Battleship will satisfy all viewers who are open minded enough to simply enjoy the action and not attempt to place reality over the movies entertainment value.

I describe Battleship as goofiness of premise. The film had complete lack of realism of the United States Navy. In addition, not an individual involved has acting ability. For example, Rihanna came across as angry and sarcastic. Attitude, attitude, attitude is not acting. I can live a long, long, long, (for ever) time and never have a need to experience Battleship again. In summary, mindless entertainment.
