Great Basic Stand

I was looking for good value in a ladder-type stand to use on club property. I prefer a 2-man style because it allows me to change position when sitting for extended periods. This is exactly what I needed for a very attractive price. Assembly is easy, but you will need adjustable or metric wrenches. The instructions are adequate, although the pictures could be clearer. Construction is a good example of minimalist engineering; it is simple, straightforward, and does not use an ounce more material than necessary. For example, the upper rail would be stronger and more rigid if they used 1" instead of 3/4" tubing, but then both weight and price would go up.
The instructions suggest a team of three for putting up the stand. I had myself and my dad, who is 88 years old. Pivoting it into postion the way they illustrate was not possible for us. I used a climbing stand to attach a rope and pulley to the tree about 18' up, then we hauled the stand into position top first. It worked well. I was also able to use my climber to set the ratchet straps around the tree instead of climbing up the unsecured ladder stand to do the job. I am working on a canopy/curtain arrangement to protect me from rain and screen me from the critters while hunting. Deer and hogs quickly learn where hunters sit and look to see if anyone is waiting for them. The more you can make your stand look the same whether you are there or not, the better.

Good quality stand. Directions to install were very well written and easy to follow. I was able to put up by my self,and take down. I did use a ladder to strap the seat platform to the tree,and unstrap. I could haul it to my selected tree on my ATV. Lots of room to hunt from especially if you are a bow hunter. It feels very solid or secure as you move around in it. The shooting rail does not fit me for shooting but I like it for a gun or bow rest while waiting for game. I can't think of any negatives. Buy it !!

For the price, the stand gives u the most bang for your money. It took about thirty minutes to assemble and it took two hunters about twenty minutes to erect it to a tree and secure it properly.it is comfortable to sit in for long periods of time. All in all, for the money - u cannot beat it.

i purchased one of these that went togeather okay. the second one did not.icalled the manufacture.they said two tofour weeks for replacement parts . by then hunting season would be over where i live. I had to modify to make it work. tubing was removed & rewelded & new holes drilled. iwould not buy another ameristep product. manufacture customer service was no help. spend a little more money get a better stand

Great 2 man stand for the price - BUT, not as comfortable as the older models but it's hard to complain for the price you pay. Climbing steps are alot narrower, but not that big a deal - Sitting seat not very wide so its uncomfortable for long periods of time. Also side rail not as tall as I would like, it leaves a large top protion of your body visible.

Decent stand for the price. The seat platform is not very deep. It feels like I need to push myself back into the seat. However, it is roomy enough for 2. The foam padding could go all the way around the gun rest for extra padding when resting the gun. I added pipe insulation. Easy to assemble.
