Short Review: double layered tank: bustless inner control layer so there is nothing tight to squish your boobs, casual, meant to be seen outer layer light enough to wear in southern summer heat. Sizes are accurate if you want daily wear, if you want more control go down a size, if you want 'not sure how I'm going to breathe' tight control for a special occasion, go down two. This style is available from Maidenform and other merchants under the name Flexees Fat Free.
I looked all over, read tons of reviews trying to find good info on a daily wear tank style shaper top that just looked like any other tank top, finally gave up and went in store to try on a few tops and this was by far the only one I would even consider buying. Background on me, 5'5" 190, 42D, down from about 260, 46DD. I wanted a control top that was comfortable enough for daily wear, and most importantly didn't -look- like shapewear. I'm not trying to get an hourglass here, just wanted to feel more comfortable with a little bit of control of the extra weight loss jiggle.
I went straight for the 2x and it fit like a dream, completely comfortable, with what seemed like a little room to spare. I went back to the store later on to try on the 1x because I'm in need of white. Of course it felt tighter, but just from looking in the mirror it didn't seem to have much difference as far as more control than the 2x (maybe just my body shape?), still reasonably comfortable though not sure I'd wear it daily. There is no boob squishing at all because the tank is made of two layers, the inner control layer which is styled like a bustless top, and the outer tank layer that you see. It doesn't work miracles, nor should anyone expect any comfortable, daily wear control top to work miracles. However, it is exactly what I wanted as far as style and comfort go, and does exactly what I wanted in the area of control.
I did a little digging and I'm fairly certain Maidenform is directly selling these, just under the name of Flexees Fat Free (Sweet Nothings may be Wal-mart exclusive, the style number on the Maidenform website is short one digit from the hangtag from Walmart.) I will likely be returning the 1x and paying a little extra to get my white (they also offer grey) 2x either from amazon or directly from maidenform.

I love this top. Not shiny, but cotton tank with a control panel. very tight so get a size larger. Also can wear alone ,nice lace trim on top. Will want to get several. Really helps show that waistline!
