Batteries were included, and the toy is a great price. Easy to turn sound off if needed. Hours and hours of fun and play! My 3 year old son loves this toy and easily figured out how to transform from dino to car. He loves this toy so much and it is durable enough to withstand being dropped multiple times and also banged around a lot by my other children. This is a fantastic toy!

I have two sons ages 4 & 1. Like so many kids in today's age, my children have short attention spans with toys and typically enjoy something new at the onset and move on. I was hesitant with the VTech Switch & Go Dinos (I have received the T-Donn & Tonn VTech Switch & Go Dinos to facilitate my review) when they arrived. I was pleasantly surprised that my 4-year old son played for may days continually with these toys. He seemed to be captivated by the ways the toys could "transform" from dinosaur to car. The sounds associated with each of these characters changed as soon as the toy changed.
Somewhere in the play process my youngest son also engaged with the toys and learned the sounds associated with cars. It was the first time that my sons could play with the same toys and interact with one another, a big win for me.
I was a little disappointed that there were limited features of this toy. Besides the transforming nature of the toy and sounds, there wasn't much to them. I was hopeful for more interaction since it originally appeared that the toys were interactive. I would have liked other sounds, more phrases, or something more than a surfer-sounding voice on the toy. Eventually, as suspected both of these toys have ended up as one of many in the toy box. Every now and then one of boys will pull it out for a few minutes of play. One can hope...

Transforming Boredom into Fun

Like many preschoolers, my son is energetic, but get bored of toys easily. When he received the Switch and Go Dinos, T-Don the Pteranodon, I wasn't sure how long he would enjoy the toy. However, he immediately began to the transform the bright red car into a Pteranodon and vice versa. He really seemed to enjoy the dual function, and used the toy for imaginary play. He changed the variety of sounds back and forth and picked out the various drivers for the car. I'll have to say that my son spent hours playing with the Switch and Go Dino, and it is one of his favorite toys now.

T-Don a Major Hit In Our House!

We have both T-Don the Pteranodon and Tonn the Stegosaurus and my youngest children (age 3 and 5) love them!
My children were intrigued and excited to play with T-Don and Tonn before I ever took the toys of out the box. I was a little unsure if the toys would actually hold my kid's attention, with most toys they play with them for a few days and then throw them into their toys boxes with the other "abandoned toys", but they play with them nearly every day. In addition to being able to hold my kids attention, T-Don is also very interactive, which as a parent I definitely appreciate.
My son really loves switching T-Don from a dino into a car and is actually much better at doing it than I am—he’s had other 2-in-1 toys in the past and he almost always needed my help to make the switch, he’s so proud of being able to do it himself and I like that he’s not yelling “MOM, I need your help!” every time he wants to switch! I think that the 2-in-1 feature, combined with the fact that the toys is also educational (I really love that my children can learn some very cool dinosaur facts just by playing) makes it a definite winner in my book!

My son is 5 years old and has autism. He does not play with may toys. He likes puzzles and art and the computer pretty much exclusively. I still always try to get him to play with toys more and hopefully help develop an imagination. These Switch and go Dinos were really great because they combine two different kinds of toys in one. I love that they make different sounds for each mode, and that they make transforming sounds as you change them. The main thing I love about these though, is that my son loves them. He likes them as dinosaurs better I think, but he plays with them both ways. He loves to say dinosaur dinosaur as he plays with them. He fights them and they actually keep his attention which is incredible and rare. The price is very good for a two in one toy. My 10 month old daughter even tries to steal them. I recommend these to any child that loves cars, dinosaurs, or just transforming toys. These toys won't disappoint. I have received VTech Switch & Go Dinos to facilitate my review.

One of the most difficult things about having kids is taking a long car ride or plane trip. I took T-Don the Pteranodon and Tonn the Stegosaurus on a two day road trip (6 hours each day), thinking they might be able to keep my kids entertained. What a surprise! My kids, a 2 year old girl and 5 year old boy, play with toys for a few minutes at a time before getting bored and moving on to something else (especially fighting with each other)! I was so pleased that T-Don and Tonn kept them busy for hours! The kids even shared toys with each other, swapping dinosaurs, transforming them to cars, and pressing buttons to change expressions and hear different sayings. The toys transformed easily from dinosaur to car and back again, and they have lots of fun things that will keep kids busy and entertained for a long time. The only problem I had with these toys - and it was Tonn the Stegosaurus in particular - was the voice. Tonn sounds like either Crush the turtle from Nemo or - worse - Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. This didn't seem to bother my kids, but it made my husband and I a little nutty! Overall, I would highly recommend them! I have received VTech Switch & Go Dinos to facilitate my review.

This is a fun toy. I have 3 boys ranging from 4-7 years old and they all love this one. Its a dinosaur, a car, and a transformer. The love that they can make his eyes change and all the facts that they are learning about the dinosuars. It is really easy to transform it from the dinosaur to the car. My kids got the hang of it real quick. In fact I was the one who had problems figuring out how to switch it and I had to ask one of my kids to show me. This toy has held up pretty good escpecially with my kids who are rough with their toys. This toy is not only fun for them but also eduactaional. And this is not only a boy toy but my niece had fun with it as well, so it is good for girls who are interested in dinosaurs. It is a great product and I definately recommend it to everyone.

We have both T-Don & Tonn Switch & Go Dinos. Looking at them as they are in the box I wasn't sure what to expect. My boys (ages 4 and 7) love playing with both Dinos. I was surprised at the selection of facial expressions and sounds that the dinos have. The boys can also be like Dino Dan as they learn about dinosaurs from the toys because they give facts on the dinos while the boys see it as play I see it as educational play. We have all hard wood flooring so you can find T-Don and Tonn in just about any room in my house at any given time. The dino is easy to transform in to the car and just as easy to transform back to the dinosaur. The wheels in the car mode run really smooth and I'm glad that unlike some of the boys other vehicle type toys these dinos don't pick up hair easy to get wrapped around the wheels to where they can't roll. My boys love these toys from VTech and both boys have asked for the other Switch and Go Dinos too. I think that $15.96 is a price that fits the quality of play with these dinos. They make great party gifts for boys and girls who like Dinosaurs as we have bought some for birthday parties we have attended during the summer.

My 5 and 7 year old boys love dinosaurs and race cars, so these Switch and Go Dinos are right up their alley. They have T-Don the Pteranodon and Tonn the Stegosaurus. Both are easy for little kids to change back and forth. When in dino mode the little screen shows the dino's eyes, and T-Don tells the kids little facts about Pteranadons. When it's in car mode there is a driver on the screen and the kids can change between different drivers. My kids play with them every day. One major plus is that you can turn the volume up or down. I find that many talking toys can be loud and annoying. I like that the kids can adjust the volume when needed. They seem pretty durable too. My 5 year old is rough on toys. T-Don has been dropped countless times and still works just fine. I plan on buying my four year old nephew one of these for Christmas this year. My son has 2 of the Vtech Switch and Go Dinos, T-Don the Pteranodon and Tonn the Stegosaurus. We, as a family, have always loved the Vtech line of toys! Our son has some developmental delays and we've found that he does extremely well with all Vtech toys that he plays with. In the last couple of months, he's became very interested in dinosuars and so when these Switch and Go Dinos came out, we knew we had to get them! They're easy to play with and very "kid friendly". He loves to switch and transform them from dinosaurs to fun cars, and he loves the interaction with the fun voices that they display.
At first, they were a little difficult to "transform" but still my 6 year old loves them and figured it out quickly. The animation is so fun and that's what makes these little guys much more fun to play with. We can't wait to get some of the others in the collection! If your kids love dinosaurs and cars, then these are a must have toy!

"Switch and Go Dinos are a wonderful toy for children...I have two of these and my children have played for hours on end with these...They have so much fun and it keeps the occupied and oh my their imaginations do go to work...lol What a great idea and toy... Makes a great gift....I will be giving these for birthday gifts to my childrens friends and to my children...as they have already mentioned they want the whole collection...Great Toy!!!!"

We bought two more of these after we received the first two. The kids literally could not stop fighting over them. Even our daughter fell in love with them. Great toy for BOTH boys & girls. They switch from dino to car back to dino with ease. Even my 21 month old had no problem playing with them. I would recommend them for any boy or girl who likes to play with cars and dinosaurs. Often my kids can lose interests in toys pretty quickly but these have held their interest. I think the pricing is right on, and I can hardly wait to add to the collection with the larger dinos that will be available in the Fall!
