I loved all of the features of this coffee maker, until it literally burnt out after less than a month. The hot plate must have burnt out, smoke was pouring out of every inch of it. Returned it and went elsewhere to buy another. This coffee maker had a recall a few years ago for the same issue, I guess it's still not fixed. Stay away.

I have bought many of these coffee pots cause it makes the absolute best coffee. My first one lasted a couple years. My second one lasted a few months, my third one lasted a couple weeks, and the one I have not less than a week. I wish they would fix the problem cause its the same problem everytime. it just stops brewing. Has to be electrical... Really hope they fix it or I give up.

I WISH I had read the reviews before I bought it.
after -1- week it started making an electric POPPING sound and I stopped using it.
.. I Hate Mr Coffee went from a square glass pot that didn't spill.. to a coned top that Spills when you pour coffee..
I thought the GE was perfect.. until now.
.. I Just bought a $70 Hamilton Beach maker with a square Pot.. pours Perfect.. SCALDING HOT brewed coffee.. I'm Very Happy on Day 1..

Makes excellent coffee only with exactly the proper grind. Many brands are ground too fine and it leaves a lotof mud in the bottom of the carafe.
The permanent filter is easy enough to clean, but something of an inconvenience. I tried Mr. Coffee and Walmart brand filters and the machine overflowed.
The worst is that the flimsy consteuction of the mechanism that lifts the head where the heated water sprays onto the grounds. After 6 mos., the track that lifts the "sprinkler head" broke all on its own.
I was looking for a different brand but bought GE because it used to have a solid reputation and I didn't want to make another trip from Mexico

This coffeemaker makes delicious coffee on the gourmet setting, but it stopped working in less than 1 week. Would not move water into brew cycle. As other reviews state, there is a design flaw in this coffeemaker . . . why are most appliances, large and small, so junky these days?

I am 4 to 6 pot a day coffee drinker . I have been using this coffee maker for almost three years now and still going strong . Note to those of you who had problems with yours . Clean the system when the light goes on to clean it with 50/50 water and vinegar and use filtered water and do not leave the coffee maker on with no coffee in the pot . Clean the filter basket and holder each time you make coffee . Use a paper filter it collects the fine partials and the oils from your coffee giving you a better tasting cup of coffee. and don't forget to replace the water filter too . Don't over fill the water too as it will get in the the base heater element and controls . I have used every brand of coffee maker there is . They are all about the same when it comes to taking care of them . If it just stops working in a short time just take it back it is warranted for 2 years . not many coffee makers have even a year guarantee.

Yes, it lasted 5 days. After that it simply stopped brewing. No water makes it out of the reservoir. Very disappointed in this product and will be returning it tomorrow.

I can not remember how long I have had this coffee maker, but it has lasted a long time. We have gone thru more coffee makers trying to find one that last and does not drip all over when you pour a cup. We are a 3 or pot a day home and I am on my way to buy another one just like it. We love it.

This is the second coffee maker of this brand and style. We just love it. The problems that I have seen written on this specific maker has been addressed by GE and corrected although we did not experience any problem with this maker. It makes one of the best tasting coffees that I have had from home coffee makers. For the price along with the options can't be beaten.

I have had 2 of these in less than 6 months. The drip head on the first one broke and the entire system failed on the second one. I thought GE was a good brand but not any longer, I guess. I exchanged the last one for a different brand altogether. I only make one pot per day so it was not abused.

I love this coffee pot so much that I am going to buy a new one exactly the same. I was given this coffee pot by a friend. The pot didn't match. So I am trying to find just the pot to no avail. So I am going to buy the whole maker. I absolutely love this pot. If any one knows where I can purchase just the pot please let me know as I am a student on a budget and any amount I save helps. Piece of junk. The carafe dribbles. The stop drip valve doesn't stop drips. The permanent filter lets through too much coffee fines and leaves 'mud' in the bottom of my cup. The digital display leaks enough light that it's hard to tell if the power light is on or off. Wound up using a paper filter to make decent coffee. The gourmet setting is meaningless-just use more coffee (or less water).

I used my coffee maker every morning for 7 mo. Descaled it when needed. It seemed like the burner was getting ready to go out. It would make weird noises before the auto shut off. And now it doesn't work at all. Will not brew at all. Very disappointed, because I did read reviews on it and it seemed like a good buy. I did not expect it to only last this long! Would not recommend.

Mine's also stopped brewing after using 2 years and 2 months. We didn't use it every day, twice a week. The warranty is for 2 years, so you should bring yours to Walmart.
