Pros:
I will say right off, this was a great price for the product. When working, it produced a really great sound and I loved having it on. The design is great, and I found it pretty easy to use. Plug and play, works great right out of the box. I didn't realize how poor quality the tv speakers are until I started using this! I enjoyed having the mp3 input on front too.

This device does not like to play nice with any other equipment. I bought a new Pioneer receiver at the same time and they never worked well together.
After a couple months, the unit started making a weird noise on startup, almost a weird grinding sound. It is now 6 months after I bought it and the sound bar has stopped working all together. When I finally get it turned on, the electronics read just fine but no sound. And of course the refurbished warranty is a short period of time.

This speaker as Amazing sound Compared to the stupid ILIVE that I was going to purchase. THE SUB-WOOFER IS AMAZING!!!!! Sometimes it can get a little annoying because it is very strong. Overall the product is great and I might have paid a bit more than I wanted but I AM HAPPY with the Movie theater like experience in my living room

Not a bad product for a refurbished item that I picked up during 2012 Black Friday. The bass sometimes overtakes the normal volume of the sound bar especially when you are trying to be quiet during the late hours and that is with the bass volume down to lowest setting. Sounds awesome during football games and action movies.Other than that, I am satisfied with my purchase.

Awesome sound and loud for its size! We've had this sound bar almost 2 months now. We had a problem with the sound and video cutting in and out, but upon further inspection, we noticed that one of our HDMI cords has a smaller end piece. That was causing the HDMI cord to not be snug in place. We switched to another cord and do not have any problems now. We're so happy that it was a simple fix of buying a different HDMI cord and had nothing to do with the sound bar. We are very happy with our new sound system. We might buy another for the other living room.

This system and subwoofer are perfect. I'm a bass lover. I have a couple pairs of beats by Dre. I naturally wanted the Beatbox but wanted to find something comparable, more versatile, and cheaper. This product does the trick. Purchased for under $100, super fast shipping free shipping, received system next day. I enjoy playing Call of Duty a lot more and Blu-ray maximizes the full potential this sound bar offers. Complaints about the bass being too much are easily fixed by using the "subw. vol" button on the remote. Choices range from 1-6.

I had it shipped site to store because of horror stories I've read on home shipping. I got home and the box appeared to be in good shape, but the subwoofer was busted up. I don't think I'll be buying any refurb stuff in the future.

This is my second sound bar, one in the bedroom to feed sound to nearby rooms and the kitchen, the flatscreen there driving its internal speakers too hard, my worrying I was going to blow them.
The sound bar audio is excellent, filling the room. I laid the subwoofers on their side, buying four rubber feet to keep the woofer's cage off the surface that was designed for vertical placement. This makes the subwoofers down-firing speakers, using the wood surface below to enhance the bass.
In the back room, I use the dish receiver's optical output and the Blu-Ray's coaxial output to feed the inputs of the sound bar, a video/AV input still available for another source. You use the remote to easily switch between inputs. Again, the sound fills the room as if a higher-end Dolby system.
Finally, its comes with a stand for sitting on a surface or a metal support for wall hanging , my using one in each room as needed, putting the sound bar in the kitchen above the cabinets and the one in the back room hanging just below the flatscreen on the wall.

I have mixed feelings about this item. The sound quality is excellent, but I still have been unable to make it connect seemlessly with my Philips Television. Basically I cannot get my TV remote to control the sound of the soundbar. The manual for the soundbar implies it should be able to do this. The TV manual is more specific.
Also this is a refurbished unit, and the fan makes a noise on start up. May see if I can get it some oil.

I'm disabled in a nursing home in a small room. More than enough volume for my 46in. TV that has great picture; HD sat and blueray both HDMI connected but cheap sound from TV speakers. Philips soundbar adds depth vastly better lowend, most noticable when playing or watching music. Only a 90 day warranty but Walmart offers a 2yr. warranty for a reasonable price. Would recomend for a bedroom or small room.

Surprised sound.

I put the unit above the kitchen cabinets to enhance sound from the smaller flat screen that was under the cabinet in a corner, running the coaxial cable up the rear of the cabinet and out of sight. I was turning the small flat screen TV audio too high, concerned I was over-driving its speakers.
I put the subwoofer box of this refurbished model, designed for standing up, down on its speaker using four styrofoam squares to keep it from touching the cabinet, making it a down-firing subwoofer. The base was outstanding in this arrangement for a the six-inch subwoofer speaker.
Be aware the AC runs into the speaker first, then into the amplifier, the cord length from the subwooder to the amplifer limied in length, my guess it's around six feet.

I own this soundbar for about 10 months now. At first I was impressed with such an amazing sound from such a small device, but with time I noticed, as someone already said, that If the subwoofer is plugged into the bar the bass overpowers the sound even on the lowest setting. Not only that, but it seems that the speakers got weaker after the first few weeks of use. When I bought my soundbar, it was not a refurbished unit, and it has not been abused. Hasn't even been used much and the left speakers are already gone.
