I permanantly mounted this relatively large, heavy battery in the rear compartment that houses the single 12v starting battery and 2 trolling batteries (connected in series to provide 24v) along with the built-in gas tank. The boat had a conveniently located aluminum plate in the center of that compartment that I mounted the charger securely which allowed the charger's cables to reach all 3 batteries without the need for any splices. Charging of each battery is independently controlled. I am happy with the purchase.
