I hate this phone! It has very little memory if you like taking pictures or downloading different apps I wouldn't get this phone. If you're a heavy user this phone isn't for you. But if you're new to smartphones I would suggest getting it. I'm so ready to get a new phone!!!
When I bought this phone I thought it was pretty cool but the first complaint I had with it was there is no flash for the camera and the pictures blur really bad. So if you change the scene to sport so they dont blur then the pictures exposure get really dark and since there is no flash you are very limited on when and how you can take pictures. That was a big issue for me. Second the screen is pretty small so movies and videos are almost out of the question. Finding a case for this phone is extremely hard also. Last I owned this one for ALMOST a year and it started getting very "glitchy", it would force restart constantly, it would master reset on its own, the keyboard would act funny, it would put itself in drive mode so you cant answer calls and the battery doesnt last long. I had to carry the charger everywhere. I would get about 3 hours of use before it went completly dead.I would definately recommend the LG optimus prime showtime cell instead. It compares closely to the Iphone 5 and it is the same price as the proclaim.
I wouldn't let anyone buy this I had problems with this whole thing..... I wouldn't even ask about the 1 year plan neither nothing but hassel....

I feel u on that cause I also hated this phone cause all mines did was drop calls even when I had a full signal n I will never buy a phone like this again
This phone is very easy to use and I have the straight talk program and it was very easy to set us and I was able to transfer my old number from Verizon to Straight Talk.
Fast and simple to get the hang of and use. Downsides are there's no flash on the camera and it doesn't have a 2nd camera in the front so you cant skype, but its a good phone. I love it.
The quality of the sound is not clear. I feel that it could be much better. I also feel that using the phone in its abilities to do certain functions for me is complicated. Having to put all of my contacts in is not my cup of tea. I have already spent hours doing this and have only moved inches into the contacts, I also feel that the store personnel need to be better educated when discussing the purchase or use of the phone,
If this is your first smart phone or if you want to spend 150 dollars this is a good choice.I bought a Kindle that was about the same price that didn't work so well.I saw this phone was on sale and read the reviews and decided to buy it.The main reason I use it is for listening to music or watching youtube.I had no problems downloading the amazon mp3 app.The videos at first played with no stopping then when I added a few more apps the videos would take longer to complete. The battery life isn't good.
I bought this phone for my wife, she wanted a smartphone and I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on one. She loves the phone and I'll admit I'm not a big fan of smartphones but this ones not bad. Battery doesn't last as long if you are using the apps a lot but if you charge it at night then no problems, camera is fine for everyday pictures but if you are looking for one with a really good camera then I would spend a little more and get a different one. Other than that we've had no complaints with the phone or the service so far.
I really really love this phone. It has so much, I'm still learning what's what. So many features I wouldn't think this phone would have. It's so awesome how u don't even have to touch the phone to text, you can talk text. There is just to much to say about it. The only thing is, you have to make sure the applications are turned off after using them. It will use the battery up. Another is I had a hard time finding a protective cover for the phone, so I had to order from another site. All in all, I give it a Thumbs Up.
This phone is hard to find in the store so I ordered based on the great reviews and I'm glad I did. This was for a 17 yr old who was use to an iphone and even she loved this phone. She is on it day and night and has not had any problems. Can't beat $45 for unlimited per month! And with it on the verizon network it works great in our area. Awesome phone.
The phone looks great and works good but it has issues that make it a big loser. Straight Talk price of monthly service at $45.00 can't be beat. Service is good as it is on the Verizon Network.
First problem is the phone will randomly power off for no reason. I read on line this is a problem with some applications but I have yet to download any applications. No fix from Samsung.
Second problem is on occasion you are unable to place or receive calls. To fix you must power down and then power back up again. No fix from Samsung.
Third problem is on occasion when you power up it shows a non standard battery in use even though I am using the ORIGINAL OEM battery that came with the phone. No fix from Samsung other than to change out the battery at my expense on a phone that is three months old!
Oh, to make matters worse Samsung has no answers for the problems. They refer you to straight talk and if you have never called straight talk before....good luck as they have the WORST customer service!!!
Do yourself a favor and use your money on another phone as this one is not the best phone Samsung has made!
Aside from a MASSIVE let-down on the battery portion of the equation, this phone is fantastic. It does everything I want it to do and the OS and reliability are meeting or exceeding my expectations. I've had it for 5 months now and, unfortunately, only went 3 weeks before I noticed the battery was not functioning properly. It originally lasted 2-3 days between charges. But after ~3 weeks it started dying mid-day. I could literally almost watch the battery bar fall in real time. I did everything I'm supposed to do relative to saving battery life (turning-off background, location, turning down display, killing apps, etc). Nothing worked. The battery would die in 6-8 hrs. I called ST and they shipped me a replacement battery. That worked for 5 days. Then the new battery started doing the same thing the old battery did. So now I have to keep a back-up battery fully charged, change it in the middle of the day, PLUS keep the phone plugged-in ANY TIME I'm anywhere near a charger or in my car. If you look @ the weather, listen to Pandora, use GPS.........anything that uses the battery, it absolutely renders the phone worthless in ~2 hours. If you're sitting in a doctor's office just reading the news on your favorite news app, this phone will die before you get back to your car and head out to eat lunch.
FANTASTIC phone, features, OS, reliability. HORRIBLE battery renders every bit of that useless after only a few hours. So what's the point of having all the good if you can't even use it.
My wife has a Samsung Galaxy S from ST and her battery lasts 2 days and she uses her phone WAY MORE than I do. So I know it's just this particular model.
For the money, one cannot beat this combination of Straight Talk and Samsung. All worked well. No issues what so ever during the sign up and transfer of my old phone number to the new phone. All done in about 15 minutes. Just be sure to have all of the required info for the transfer before you start. Only complaint against the phone (other than it is not an iPhone w/iOS software) is the short life of the battery charge.
My husband and I purchased the phone about 2 or 3 months ago. We are always traveling. We actually just left Atlanta, and we traveled a lot of back roads to get there. We had no problems with our navigation or anything the entire way and we did not drop or lose a single phone call. This phone runs off of verizon towers and works just like a normal verizon phone.
I use it for youtube a lot and it seems to work well for me also. My browser pulls up without any problem as well. My husband has not mentioned any problems with his phone either. I hope this helps. I would definitely recommend this phone!
I have an iPod touch and love it, but I wasn't willing to dish out $700 for an iPhone. This phone has good ringtones and alert tones, an OK camera, and responsive screen. Volume can definitely be loud enough and the voice quality of the phone is actually better than my basic phone with Verizon. The internet is a little sluggish (phone just doesn't have a lot of power) and I do have to charge it at least daily (if I use it a lot for the 'net the battery is sucked dry very quickly). It isn't as fluid as an apple product, but for under $200 it does what I need it to (text, surf the web to look up things quickly, check email, make calls).
Love it thus far. No problems. Easy to navigate. Screen isn't as large as my last phone but have gotten used to it. Fairly quick with everything. No complaints. :0)
After about 6 months the phone tends to have a mind of its own. The phone's reaction time is delayed. EX: I may try and call "Jane", but the call won't go through....two minutes later...the phone calls "Jane" by itself. OR I may try and call "Jack" the call does not go through the first time so I try again and it does. Five minuets into the conversation with "Jack" and he gets another call...FROM ME!!! while we are on the phone. Not to fond of the camera either.
Up until the 6 month mark the phone is great after that it gets aggravating.
I think this is a good deal. To get any better you have to jump up another $100. I did not use my old phone for the internet and emails because it was just too hard. This is so much easier. It seems to meet all our needs. We got three of them in our family and we all like them.
