I never leave reviews but I felt it is important to warn buyers. I have used Chi flat irons purchased through my stylist for years. About a week ago, my last burned out. I decided to order a new one through walmart.com rather than going through my hairdresser because I was able to use Bill Me Later (my new best friend). The iron arrived yesterday. First thing I noticed was the look, feel, and weight. I immediately got my old one out and started doing a side by side comparison. The iron is indeed different and I started to do some research online regarding fake CHI characteristics. This iron has everyone of them except the power cord. I am incredibly disappointed and I will never order another product like this through Walmart again! Returning immediately.....

I just got this flat iron maybe a week ago and it's working great so far, CHI flat irons are supposed to be one of the best. Especially after flat ironing and coming out on a humid day, it keeps my hair still flat and not frizzy. But I read the past reviews before I purchased this item and some of them said it stopped working after 2 months. So I'll wait and see.

I have had this straightener for 3 years now, lasts much longer than any straightener I've ever had. It still works as if its brand new, even after I dropped it in a filled sink while it was turned on it didn't affect it at all it still works perfect.
The cord is nice and long, and the straightener heats up in about a minute or two. It glides through your hair without pulling it and straightens it way better than anything else I've ever tried. I would never use another kind of straightener.

I was so happy I finally had a little extra money and thought it was time to upgrade my flatiron.
Bought the Chi, and I received it like within a week. It was ok not as great as my old flat iron and on top of that a month into using the cord broke leaving me SOL. So hopefully i don't have any issues returning it. I think the Chi is OVER RATED I think a $50 flatiron will do the trick.

I have been a user of Chi flat irons for years! I loved my original Chi that I bought over 5 years ago. Sadly, that broke. So I purchased this one from Walmart. It worked great for 2 days and then on third day it was constantly shutting off while I was flattening my hair. I had to keep pressing the reset button over and over again. Finally by the 5th day it wasn't getting hot at all! That was why I returned this one! I bought another one from another retailer.

I used a few flat irons in the past and this Chi is the best one I used so far. It is so easy on your hair. I just wish it had a temperature control. I can't believe Walmart sold an original Chi that was made in the USA. I'm impressed. I ordered another Chi for my other house and it was the Turbo with the temperature control. My daughter is 11, and bought her first chi in January with money she saved. She was only able to use it for one week. The plate on one side completely went out. She read some reviews, mostly ok, but has since seen numerous complaints of one side going out. Most people bought them only to have to deal with chi directly, and 9 times out of 10 the new one still does not work, or are still waiting to get their money back. Thankfully, my daughter orederd online through walmart.com, and they were amazing to deal with, taking it back for a full refund. Have since thouroghly researched flat irons, and bought a T3...... Love it so far......

Do not buy this flat iron. I bought this as a birthday present to myself in July 2011 & it worked great for about 3 months. It then stopped heating up out of no where. I straighten my hair everyday, but it still should last longer than that for $100. I liked it so much that I returned it & got the exact same one. Now, another 3 months later, it has stopped heating up again! This is supposed to be a professional hair straightner. I am not impressed and will not give this brand another chance. My $30 Conair that I bought in high school still works 5 years later & heats up to almost the same temperature.

This is the best flat iron you can possibly buy on the market- yes, the price is high, but it lasts a very very long time- I lost two of my favorite ones because they were stepped on by falling off the bathroom counter :( but other than that, they hold up very well. :) and they also come in a variety of neat colors. (which is always a plus)

I've had one of these for about 5 years and it finally just died, so ordering a new one. It is SO worth the money!!!! There's no other one like it out there on the market. Cheaper ones don't straighten my hair as well & don't get as hot. I use this and my hair is straight for a couple days. Look at it this way, you can spend $20 on a piece of junk, or spend money on this one and it works better than any other & lasts longer than any other, AND you look WAY better! I use a product that protects my hair from heat styling, and make sure you get regular (well done) cuts to keep the ends healthy.

I love my Chi!!! I have extremely kinky- curly, frizzy, dry hair. Others flat irons would fry my hair leaving it frizzy and wavy- not straight. The Chi leaves my hair silky smooth and totally straight! I only have to run it over a small section of hair twice and its straight! I would highly recommend this product to anyone. It is a bit pricey but totally worth every penny!

This is my first flat iron. I purchased it on the recommendation of my hair stylist, who is also a salon owner. It heats quickly, and is easy to use. Still learning techniques, and look forward to experimenting with it as my short style grows to a longer style. There is not the accidental burn-factor with the flat iron versus the curling iron. Comparatively, purchasing the CHI Flat Iron by Farouk at Walmart is the best price, although in general, I fail to understand why flat irons are so costly.

When i got my flat iron i was so happy. It turned my frizzy hair into a soft/sidewalk straight for the whole day but after just 3 weeks after my purchase it suddendlly stopped woking so had to get my refund. Now i bought one from jc penny in pink....well see how that goes

The Chi Flat Iron is a little pricy, but well worth the money. In my first use, I dropped the flat iron several times. No worries! This item is sturdy (no scratches or cracks). The element of the iron is smooth and heats up instantly. No need to worry about neck/behind the ear burns. This flat iron is coated to protect the skin and hair. The moment the flat iron touched my hair from root to tip, it was as straight as getting a perm. The flat iron doesn't get overheated. The temperature is perfectly set to do the job!
