Very Nice Television

This is a slim and very light television with a crisp, clear picture. The sound is good. The viewing angle is excellent from any position in the room. Super easy to set up. The only downfall to this television is the best viewing is in the evening when the room is darker. It's not made for a bright room, the picture just washes out with too much light.

I bought this TV in April, 2012. It was great for about 4-5 months before I started having a problem with the power supply. Many times when a recorded channel on the DVR ended, it would automatically shut off the TV. I could "fix" it by unplugging the TV and plugging it back in. But, that finally failed as a solution and it wouldn't turn on no matter what I did.
I called Panasonic and they ran me through a couple things, but finally concluded it was broken and would need to be taken in. They gave me a couple of the closest subcontractors to take it to.
After I left it, they called and indicated the part needed was on "national backorder". What a shocker! Obviously, Panasonic has problems with this all over the country and they can't make (or get) the replacement part fast enough. I was told three weeks. Still waiting.
I should have listened to the reviews because I had read about this problem before I bought it.

We upgraded from a 32" Sanyo LCD tv. Plasma is so much clearer! The sound on this tv is ten times better also. A couple things you should know: Plasma screens are very glossy. During the day the windows in my living room reflect off the tv like crazy. Also, this tv doesn't have the red, green & blue inputs my wii uses. So we had to buy a few new cables for hook-ups. Besides that this tv is great! Would buy again.

We have had a 50" Pan. Plaz. Tv for 2-3 years and wanted to get rid of our OLD TV in the bedroom,so when we saw this one we thought we have had luck with the other so we took a chance one this one. Glad we did. It was easy to wall mount and the quality was like our other Panasonic. Pretty hard to beat this price.

Review 6 for Panasonic 42" Class Plasma 720p 60Hz HDTV, TC-P42X6
We decided to upgrade a 32 inch Panasonic TV to a larger size. Where ever possible I like to buy Panasonic products because of their overall performance, technical excellence and superior reliability. Their 42 inch plasma continues that tradition particularly since Panasonic has made a significant improvement in sound quality and volume with this 42 inch model.

Review 7 for Panasonic 42" Class Plasma 720p 60Hz HDTV, TC-P42X6
I gotta say, this tv is awesome and so cool. Its fun to watch with and the HDTV quality of 720p with 1080i output is crystal clear picture quality. The volume goes all the way up to level 100, even though I never listen to audio that loud, although I wish the sound quality output would have been a little more high def. Otherwise everything is cool about this tv, plasma of course is better picture and sound quality than any LCD or LED tv out there. Cant beat 600hz sub field drive baby, go Panasonic! Always loved them from the beginning, they make great TVs!

Review 8 for Panasonic 42" Class Plasma 720p 60Hz HDTV, TC-P42X6
For the price? excellent. I have a 60" panny plasma that was 3 times this price, and this looks as good with cable tv sports programs. I dunno about blu-ray, don't have a player hooked up. The only way it could be better IMO is if it were bigger, but 42 is OK.
No RCA audio output, only digital optical...you need a 30$ d/a converter to use a "traditional" analog amp and speakers, sound is fair as is.

Review 9 for Panasonic 42" Class Plasma 720p 60Hz HDTV, TC-P42X6
I have to admit I wasn't expecting much for he price, but this TV has to be one of the best bang for your buck TV around. The menu system is a bit more basic looking than the higher range Panasonic plasmas but the darks and the colours are almost perfect, no motion blur, great for gaming too. Very happy with it, 2 hdmi's isn't ideal, but the USB allows connection of an external HD and it plays a wide range of codecs.

Bar none the best priced tv on the market. Just a few years ago this tv would cost $2000. now with lcd's and led's getting all the buzz Plasma is the way to go. THE COST AND QUALITY IS BAR NONE THE BEST! Unless you watch a lot of blue ray stuff you won't tell it is 770p not 1020p. Every Television Station HD quality is 720p or 1080I which this tv has and the colors are comparable to a $1500 led tv. Don't waste your money on a sales pitch or marketing for a 1080p tv when nothing but blueray players are true 1080p.

Very Disappointed!!

I had bought this tv in June of 2012,I thought you could not beat the price and I thought Panasonic was a good brand so I bought it. I took it home and plugged it in and it worked great,I had only had this tv for 7 months, I started having problems with the power. To start with,I had first unplugged the tv from the wall outlet,i also had it plugged in to a power surge connector! I was moving my tv to another spot, then when I went to plug it back in,NO POWER!! It took me 4 to 5 hours on the first time to get the power back to the tv,I also plugged it in to different outlets,no luck! Then 2 months later, the same thing happened again but this time,no power at all,I even kept it unplugged overnight and the next day,no power, and still today no power to it!!! Although Panasonic gives consumer's a limited warranty on this product,Panasonic only has limited access to tv services and you have to go where they tell you. I would had to drive an hour to get there to drop off the tv,then an hour back, then an hour back to pick it up when it was repaired, then travel back home, that's 4 hours of your time and gas!!! I researched these issues on Panasonic.com with this product, and there were other consumers on there with the same issues!! I thought it could have been a bad power cord, but that wasn't the issue. There is definately a problem with this product. You would think your getting a bargain, and it would last longer than 7 month's. I really loved this tv when I first got it,but it wasn't long untill power issues arrived. So beware, and do some research on this before buying. You get what you pay for.

I ordered this TV 3 times and each time there was an issue. 1st time the order was cancelled and no reason given. The 2nd time the TV arrived damaged with corner smashed and hanging off. The 3rd time it arrived damaged with the plasma screen cracked from the right corner down, and looked like a spider web. DO NOT ORDER THIS!!!!

An overall wonderful purchase, definitely an awesome buy for the money. We enjoy the picture clarity and quality, the optional viewing features and the remote control ease of operation. We have experienced only one hiccup, since our purchase in November 2012, with impaired picture quality due to extreme screen glare, which was caused by the sun reflecting through the window. Other than that, we have no complaints. We definitely would buy this product again and again.

We first bought a no-name brand TV and had to return it to the seller just two weeks later. We bought the Panasonic 42" Plasma and wish we could have got it sooner. The sound is one of the better stock speakers we've heard lately. The picture is Great! There isn't any angle in the room from which we cannot see the picture properly. I know that that was a big concern for us. There are 2 HDMI ports, which for us is all we need. We wish there were more inputs available though. But for $340 and finally a great and reliable TV we're not complaining.

Power surge took out my 720P Panasonic 42 inch Plasma that I had for years. Bought a 1080p Samsung with 120HZ LED today and after owning the Panasonic, the Samsung LED is very disappointing. Angle viewing is impossible because the screen washes out. Picture quality is inconsistent . I got nothing but a consistent beautiful rich picture with my old Panasonic 720P Plasma in day and night lighting from every angle in my front room. I'm going to return the Samsung tomorrow and head straight to Walmart for the Panasonic Plasma. Nothing beats Plasma and Panasonic is the the leader by a wide margin. I will never stray again Panasonic.

The picture quality is average and it bit difficult to adjust the color. It seems to dark does not matter how I adjusted. If I adjust the brightness to 100 the screen goes out of focus. The warm and cool feature seem not working. It does have many adjusting combination/options however I have not find the right one yet.

Review 20 for Panasonic 42" Class Plasma 720p 60Hz HDTV, TC-P42X6
Panasonic makes great plasma tvs and this is no exception. For the money you can't beat this tv as a package. WalMart did a great job with the shipping, it was fast and arrived in good condition.
