The ASUS Netbook is a good value for the money. I was especially motivated by the light weight and small form factor. It's great for travel... and was easy to pack on a recent motorcycle trip.

This ASUS netbook is better than acer netbook

My acer 1 gig netbook died after not even 2 years, got the black screen of death and it was always very slow. This ASUS netbook is much faster, and lighter than my old netbook. The 2 gig is a big difference in the speed and it has double the hard drive and the price was pretty good. This netbook is smaller than my other one and the charger on this netbook is even half the size of the ACER charger. I am hoping this netbook holds up and gives me a longer time of usage. I had put so much software and stuff in my other netbook and then poof all gone when it croaked, I almost felt like I could not trust another netbook or computer, but when I saw the better specs on this netbook I went for it.

I found I didn't do well with the touch tablets. I tried Android, and I tried Ipad, but I just get didn't get the hang of it; perhaps, it is my age (smile). Anyway, this small netbook (laptop) works well for me. I paid a little more because I wanted a full blown version of Windows 7. This will work well for me, when I don't want to take my 17" laptop. I purchased a low priced usb cd drive, so I can add other software.
The computer is light weight, and the keyboard is adequate for typing. Asus is a good product!

It was ALMOST exactly what I was looking for. I would have preferred it to be a pretty color, but overall functionality trumps aesthetics. :)
