At first, the player was slow. Slow I could live with. But then it stopped working completely and we had to return it - lasted less than a week.

Got this about two days ago. I originally wanted a Sony product but they were all sold out so I settled for this. It's an easy setup, very basic. If you solely want this product as a DVD/blu ray player than this should be fine. I tested out some of my SD DVDs and watched a blu ray movie and I have no troubles so far but if you want this to stream Netflix/Hulu etc i would def. not recommend this. The Internet connection is very poor. It took me at least 40 minutes to get its firmware updated, Netflix keeps dropping and won't connect properly. I tried both on wireless and wired connection and that doesn't seem to solve the problem. I will certainly be returning this.

I was lead to believe this product included Amazon. It did NOT. Or at least if it did I could not find it. Hulu, Netflix and Vudu were there but apparently not Amazon. If you don't need Amazon I guess it's an OK product.

If someone can help me that would be great, but I don't understand why I have poor connectivity with the wireless when the router sits only 10-15ft away and is showing low signal, have had the router for over a year and haven't had any problems with other wireless devices in the house, like phones, PS3, lap tops, but the blue ray isn't working and i am seriously thinking about returning it.

This is a very sleek, thin player. It is very easy to connect, and works as described. I purchased it to "convert" my television to a "smart TV" so I could watch Netflix, and it works perfectly.

Got this player, it crashed a lot during random activities like accessing netflix or USB. Usually I could just unplug and replug and it would come back on this. a few months after i bought it though, it crashed, i unplugged, replugged, and it never came back on.
If you buy this, make sure to keep track of your receipt and warranty information (I didn't).

I thought that the Panasonic name would mean that it would be of decent quality. No. I bought this in September 2012. I wanted it to watch Netflix. It worked ok. I thought for the money, it wasn't bad. However, in January 2013, I noticed on the screen, when I turned it on, that there was a firmware update available. I ignored it because #1: I didn't want to take the time, #2: I was afraid it would mess up the player. Last week, I made the mistake of upgrading the firmware. After the upgrade, the screen said that it would automatically reboot. It didn't. Power button didn't work so I had to unplug it. Plugged back in, it booted. But now, when I try to watch anything on Netflix, it has to keep loading every 3-4 minutes. Try to watch a movie or show when every 3 minutes, it stops, has to load (Loading...) for another 2-3 minutes... over and over. It did not do this before the firmware upgrade. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND PATIENCE!!! I contacted Panasonic to ask how I could downgrade the firmware. I was told that it is not possible. It's too late for me to return it. But I can warn others... (I just noticed on this comment page that it says "Refurbished..). I didn't think mine was.

This works ok, but the remote doesn't program for tvs other than panasonic and the controls aren't as good as my 2001 sony. no subtitle button or much else other than standard forward, skip etc.

Not a strong receiver

I set up the network- connection was easy to set up.....but the receiver did not seem strong enough to get much of a signal, though the router was close by and should have had a very strong signal. It was not strong enough to pull in Netflix, which was a major factor, so I returned it. Bought a different brand that had a strong signal in the same location, so I have to assume it was the machine.

I updated it and now I have Hulu Plus.
And, that's all i did other than connected it to my tv and the network. The setup was fast and easy.
Now, i am watching Start Trek Voyager marathon every weekend.
Love it.

This player is a decent machine. It is very simple to use, but does have it's problems. It's audio and video flickers on and off for a bit before returning to playing normally. It happens probably once or twice when watching a movie. It's not awful, but can be irritating. It does pause before it does this though so at least you never miss anything. It could be a little cheaper since it does have problems but overall I've been very happy with it, and it isn't too expensive. We got the warranty, just it case but I'd buy this again any day!

made the mistake of not researching this product before purchase. DVD player would freeze up quite frequently when trying to use the internet such as netflixs. The only fix was to have to unplug it everytime since it would not shut down either. Returned dvd player after a week and purchased a Sony. No problems now.
