I almost spent another $225 for a Sony and I am glad I didn't. This JVC has delivered great picture and sound quality - right out of the box. I tinkered with the color/contrast and ended up realizing the Standard setting was the best. Cinema sound is good for movies but when you are used to old, non-bass sound of regular TV it is an easy switch. PC connection is very clear for VGA and having a 3.5mm sound connection as a combo makes it even better. 2 HDMI's is no problem when using a BD player with Apps (Samsung). Delivery was in the local super center in a couple of days and I had it in time for the SuperBowl, which i wasn't expecting. Extra bonus. Walmart came through with a good deal and hopefully an LCD that will last.

I've had this tv for about 2 months now. I am so happy I can barely contain myself. I researched tvs for about 2 months before I purchased this JVC . The sound quality can't be matched and the picture is fabulous. There are 2 HDMI ports (enough for me) I can plug in my computer and my phone to use the tv as a huge monitor... It also has a UMB port which a lot of tvs in this price range do not. This makes it so easy to look at photos with friends. This is simply a fantastic TV at a great price.

this is a great tv for the price the sound is excellent and the picture quality is great well jvc is a good brand i hooked it up to my jvc home theater system and i love it its also easy to set up took me all of 5minuets my husband was surprised i brought the 42inch and all i can say is yeah!!

We really like this TV. We decided to purchase this model after reading the reviews and we are impressed with the picture quality and the sound is great!!! We had purchased another brand but we weren't happy with it so we returned it and brought the JVC and we are really satisfied with it so far.

This television fit all my requirements for connecting to Direct TV, my computer system network and audio system. I was amazed that the picture quality was the same (excellent) whether at 480 or 1160 or my computer preference of 1280. The use of digital optical out versus digital audio out was only feature that could have been improvrd on. I ended up using the analog audio out and a Y connector for audio. Hope it works as well in a year as it has essentially out of the box.

We love the new JVC. The picture almost looks like 3D. It's hard to explain but the pic quality looks so pretty and clear. We didn't want all the extra stuff that's on some of the new tvs, just wanted an old fashioned tv. I have some concerns that the more features there are, the more that can go wrong. I hook our tvs up to a roku box for our wireless which seems like a more reliable connection than a lot of the wireless cards on the tvs. At least, according to the reviews I read, as I have no experience with those tvs. The technology must have improved over the last few years as pic quality is better than our 4 year old Vizio which we thought was great already. The sound is really great with the front firing speakers and I don't have to buy extra speakers. I always compare pictures when I go to the stores but hadn't actually saw the JVC in person, but took the chance based on reviews here and everywhere else online. I'm so glad that I did. Even though picture was perfect for OTA, I hooked it up as a second monitor and played with the multitude of settings to match it to my hp monitor. Everything looked great and even though the pic was a little less stellar as it was stretched over 42" screen, the letters were quite good and easy on the eyes. I had lots of fun setting it up and steaming to it thru hdmi. Now, I can only hope it lasts, but who knows with anything anymore. I did purchase the walmart extra warranty with money I saved on buying this tv vs. other brands. Last bit of info, one review stated this tv had EPG (electronic program guide) for OTA hdtv and I also read that in the product info at JVC website but it doesn't. It has the info button which gives you the info for that channel only but does not tell you what is going to be on for the rest of the day for that channel or for any others. I really am going to miss that when my Vizio dies as I cannot find another brand with an EPG and was really hoping this tv had it.

I used Site To Store for this purchase. It was very convenient. The price was much lower than anyone else's (I looked at 5 other sites). I recommend having a big product like this shipped to the store versus shipped to your house. Walmart and all the others wanted extra money to have it shipped to the doorstep, an extra $50-$90.

Very surprised at the sound the speakers generate. I have stopped using my Bose sound system now since the sound quality seems to be the same, due to the inbuilt 3D surround sound speakers in this TV. It beats the audio on more expensive TVs by far. I had purchased the 37in JVC before this one, but that TV does not have the 3D surround sound feature.

Great Picture. I prefer the LCD as this model is over LED as the LEDs whites appear to me to be bluish. Great Sound too with the front firing speakers. Has a good "bass-ey" tone that I like. I like the aesthetic appearance too. Good proven name brand. Great value for the $.

I set up the television easy to do,then the sound started cutting out. I checked all the connections then reset audio again, no change. I had to pack it all up and return it to walmart.

We had originally bought a 39" Insignia LCD tv from BB. Customer service is always a nightmare there but the clerk said this was a good tv for the price.
What a piece of junk. It went off and on randomly and constantly forgot channels(since this is straight off the cable..no box) which meant doing the 20 minute channel scan all the time. Back it goes!
We found this on Walmart.com and took a shot. We ordered it on a Sunday night and got a text it was in the store on Tuesday. What a great tv!
Picture is sharp and clear. Sound is unbelievable. (no sound bar needed for this one)
We have always used JVC products but they don't turn up to much in the big box stores. This model is a few years old but we have it in an office and use as a computer monitor too for our business and it serves our needs very well.
Do your homework, read reviews, and do not take the salesperson's word on what's good. This one is as good as our 42" Panny or the 60" LG with way better sound.

My only regret is that I didn't buy this sooner when it was about $30 cheaper! TV is easy to use, and was a great deal for its size and brand. Do yourself a favor and check out the reviews on amazon as well, then come back to the Wal-Mart website and buy it here. You won't be disappointed. The sound isn't phenomenal, but for a bedroom or living room, it does the job.
