This system is more than I thought it would be. We have enjoyed it from day one. easy hook up beautiful picture, quality, and looks very nice. The sound is terrific. The price for this was not to much and we thought very reasonable. We are sure to enjoy this for many years.

This system is intended for a smaller room than my den which is 22'x23'. It has good quality and sound, but the wires to the rear speakers won't allow them to be placed behind seating area, unless the cords are routed across the floor.

I don't know what is up with the negative comments on the review of this Samsung Home Surround system..... but.....
I just purchased this product and I am blown away! I was on a VERY tight budget and have been wanting a DECENT system for 15 years. Well...I got one and it's FAR beyond decent. Not only is the sound rich deep...clear...sweet treble sounds and THUNDEROUS feel-it-in your-bones sub base...but it comes with dozens of EXTRAS I hadn't anticipated! Hooking it up was easy and a dream...and the WiFi was instantly ready to go! I TOTALLY recommend this system...and I was skeptical at first after reading a few of the bad reviews. Believe me...I am PICKY. I love musicals, music is what I do. I also love movies. SOUND and the feel of it is VERY important for me. I am VERY happy with my new Samsung HT-EM45!!! YOU WILL LOVE IT.

Easy to operate; easy to install but limited on range unless you want to try to splice the speaker wire which comes prewired with color-coded plugs for each. The pre-wired pre-installed plugs make it idiot-proof but also limit your placement options and may leave a lot of wire to roll up after install, making a 'clean look' difficult (i.e. the center speaker wire). The sound is "good" in the listening area; it falls off considerably just outside of that box. We have a large living room with open floor plan; if you are in the surrounding area/rooms that you can still see the TV the sound drops by about 50%+ from sitting on the couch making for an uneven sound experience in a larger space. Great sound within the designated listening area that amounts to about 12 x 12' space depening on where you can run the surround sound wires.

I was a little worried about the buy because of the few negative reviews, but purchased anyway and have been thrilled with the sound and I really love the apps and Internet connectivity features!!!! I don't have the fastest or most reliable Internet but it works smoothly, stream pandora while cleaning the house, search and watch Netflix constantly, pocket blu features are awesome as well!!! Cannot figure out why all the negative reviews, they must have just had lemons.

Received this system as gift a few weeks ago and was skeptical since it does not have built in wifi and previous system was trash from the minute I bought it. The receiver works great and the picture is super clear when on wifi. Fun to watch Netflix and other account features- Looks great and sounds awesme. Great sound and awesome features - Definitely not disappointed!! Would recommend.

If you are looking to do anything wireless then this is not for you. I could connect to my wireless router but as soon as you try to access Netflix, or any of the other TV websites the signal would drop like a hot potato. Very, very poor. Called customer service and told me it was my ISP's fault even after I told them I have 20 other devices in the house all working perfectly including ROKU which was sitting right next to the HT system. I am taking it back and will go with LG.

dont waste your money. thought i was getting a quality product when all i got was junk. blu ray stopped working only after a few times of using it. i should have read more reviews on samsung players. and when i did 80% had problems like mine .

I love it, sounds incredible, too many features to list, including wifi integration allowing a multitude of downloadable apps like Facebook, Skype, Hulu plus, Pandora, Youtube, and Netflix as well as a whole host of other games and everyday apps that you will use and enjoy. I was wanting a "surround sound" at first, i wasnt interested in blue ray or any other options. I was worried that the sound quality would take second place to all the extras. I decided to take a chance only because of the mostly favorable reviews and ratings. Im VERY glad that i did. Most importantly for me the sound quality is honestly suprising. Ive had a few surround sound systems here and there, and i have to say that the bass,clarity,and volume of this one beats them all.

Poor Internet Connection

For those looking for a home theatre package that can use internet based apps like Netflix, I suggest you look elsewhere. My current devices I use Netflix with (PS3, Ipad 2, Android, Wii, and Roku) have never had even a hiccup. This device froze in the middle of a show. And if you're a PlayOn user, pass on this one. You're able to see the PlayOn server, but not play ANY of the files. It constantly drops the internet connection (wireless). Mind you, my Roku right next to it has absolutely no problems with the internet connection, Netflix, or PlayOn. The only reason I'm giving this a two star and not a one star is that I did not try playing a Blu-Ray disc, and I'm not going to. The sound is nice, but it is a home theatre system.
In summary, if you're looking for a home theatre package that can do it all, don't buy this one.

Poor Internet Connection

I think that your comments were very helpful and useful regarding your experience about the poor internet connection. I am in the process of deciding between the Panasonic SC-BTT190 and this HT-EM45 Samsung system. The specs. between the two of them are almost identical. Not sure where to go. Reviews like yours provide valuable insights to make the ultimate buying decision. Thanks again.
