I have a FURminator for the dogs and use it for the cat as well. This brush leaves no sores like the FURminator, and it is way smooth through their fur; both dogs and cats!

The product lives up to its expectations in that it removes hair very well. With just a light stroke, which my cat doesnt mind, the hair comes out very easily. The only complaint i have is that the comb does not "catch" alot of the hair that comes out. All of it does not gather in the tool to easily remove in a huge clump. I find that when I am using it alot of the clumps of hair just stay on my cat and i have to run my hand down her fur to grab it up. Worse, alot of it just falls around her. I was combing her in my bed one night and that was a huge mistake because there was a bunch of little furballs that consequently ended up on me and in my mouth that night! I would recommend this product but from now on I am going to wait until my cat goes outside to use the shed monster on her.

I purchased a space heater that came with a form to order this deshedding tool for free. I received it and tried it out on my short hair domestic. She sheds moderately, but I didn't notice any difference. I pick up more hair with a regular wire slicker on her. I also have a siamese kitten whose coat probably isn't quite long enough for it to work effectively. I have a good feeling this works great on plush, long hair coats. I'd skip out if I had a short haired cat. Won't do you much good.

I love this tool. My cat has long silky hair and it trimmed her down nice. At first she was scared but then she liked it. It didn't pull her hair just combed and thinned her coat. I'm very happy with this product.

Excellent tool for the money and for the hairy and not so hairy cat. I strongly recommend it.
Only in one sweep I reduced the hair on my clothes and in my house with 75%.

Exactly what I needed for my shedding cat and dog, but as I kept combing (the hair still coming out) I was actually making them go bald in some places. Definitely use every couple of days to avoid balding.

I have a ragdoll kitten who needs the Shed Monster daily. He has a long plush coat and this tool is a must have and FANTASTIC! I love the globs of hair that is no longer all over my furniture or in my kitten digestive system. It's really amazing how much hair this tool catches up. For the amount of money I spent it is well worth it for my kittens health and my sake.

Wow!!!!! I'm totally impressed with this de-shedder. I picked this up from Walmart today and used it on my cats, it removed a huge amount (like 70%) of dead hair (which my typical cheap wire brush always missed). I highly recommend this tool for anyone with pets, especially if they have long hair.

I don't usually write reviews, but I read them always....so I felt compelled to write a review for this product so any cat (and dog) lovers out there, can do something really nice for thier pet. I have a couple cats - one with long, thick fur and the other with short fine fur. I also have a small poodle. This tool is light in your hand but built really solid with no sharp edges any one can get hurt on accidently. Not being a "brush", I was concerned my cats would reject it, but quite the opposite...when they come over and nudge me, they then stare at the little drawer I keep it in. I also keep the dog treats in there, so whenever the drawer is open my oldest comes over and looks in the drawer!! Of course then I have to start a brushing period that means everyone wants some! LOL I'm amazed how it really does get down under the top coat and gets all that loose fur underneath....even from my one with short, fine fur! I almost get as much from that one as I do the one with long thick fur! After, the fur is so soft...I've had cats all my life and never have I felt such soft fur except for on a kitten. My dog likes it also, and it helps keep his fur shiny in-between groomings. You will LOVE this, and so will your pets.

I've always purchased the cheap cat brushes in the past, but recently my cats fur has become tangled and matted to the point where it was pulling on his skin, causing irritation. I was afraid I would have to take him to the groomers or even the vet to have them removed professionally. As I was in Walmart, I browsed the pet isle and came across the Shedmonster. I was a bit skeptical, due to my cats condition, but figured it was worth a try. Not only did it save me the money of having to take my cat to a professional, but it saved my cat from getting too stressed by taking him to a professional. I was able to comb out the tangles in mats while he was comfortable and relaxing. He even played with the brush while being groomed. We turned it into a little game. Now he looks much better and healthier, and isn't irritated by matted and tangled fur.

I just purchased this item today from Wal-mart after reading all the great reviews. I couldn't wait to get home because my ragdoll kitten has been shedding his coat all over my couch and clothes. The first stroke was AMAZING! It pulled up so much hair, I couldn't stop brushing him because all the hair that I was lifting up. After a few good strokes I had enough dead hair to make a winter coat! I am one happy customer and so is my baby because I now can help prevent 90% of dead hair and hairballs from my baby. Also I noticed a much softer, smooth, and healthier coat. Shed Monster is for sure something to invest in without breaking the bank.

I orderd this hoping my cats would let me use it and that it worked. I am happy to report that both are true. My cats don't mind it at all and it really gets that undercoat. You have to be careful because it is sharp up inside. No getting legs and careful with the tail :)
