The LG 15,000-BTU air conditioner is perfect for rooms up to 800 square feet. You will cool a lot and save even more with this LG window air conditioner's energy saver function, 24-hour on/off timer and a 10.8 Energy Efficiency Ratio. With its stylish, full-function remote, you can even get your cool on from across the room. Plus, LG's patented Gold Fin anti-corrosion coating provides a protective shield so the LG LW1512ERS window air conditioner lasts longer.
I searched a lot of web pages looking for an A/C window unit and always kept coming back to this one. It is the largest unit out there with 110v which is what I had to have. I live in the desert in a 50 year old mobile home......translation......I live in a metal box. A hot metal box. No insulation and I needed a way to keep cool on super hot days. Ordered the unit and it was sitting on my front deck within 2 days. All for $.97. Hard to beat that shipping price. Installed the unit and very happy with it. The energy saver mode is great. This unit is not that noisy when it runs. For the size, it's actually fairly quiet. Noise is all on the outside.

Review 2 for LG 15,000-BTU Energy Star Window Air Conditioner LW1512ERS
AC unit has a cheap plastic tab in front that opens and closes to get fresh air outside if you want to THAT WAS BROKEN-(very cheap plastic). Also the unit would not cool. It would blow a little cool air, but then it would start blowing air that was not hot or cold. Don't buy this unit. I took it back and got a Frigidare today 2-17-13. It is also very loud.

It's quiet and cooling. I just need to wait and see how much the energy savings kicks in. I had to find a unit with low voltage to accommodate the available electricity. This unit accommodates that with high enough BTU. So far, it's fantastic. I purchased it because my prior unit broke, and in comparison the LG unit it much better! Great buy.

The little thing does a very good job. I have a big room 25x30 I have to start it on high but after 20min I can turn it down to low all day. I would say its not that loud I sleep lite.

I installed my LG Air Conditioner 5 days ago and it has worked great. I have read some comments about excessive noise level. I disagree with this statement. I do not see this at all. When you get into a unit like mine that has a 15000 BTU Rating, there is bound to be some sound, but certainly not a problem. My unit runs very smoothly, no vibration, it maintains the room temperature pretty much to what you set it at and I love the remote control and the options it allows you to control. I am happy with it and would recommend it to a friend or to my family.

Review 8 for LG 15,000-BTU Energy Star Window Air Conditioner LW1512ERS
I bought this model air conditioner seven years ago. So far it has worked without incident. It is a bit loud but otherwise I can't complain. I cool a combined living room/kitchen that is about 16X40 and even in the recent 100 degree weather we were comfortable. If I want to leave my bedroom door open it will even do a passable job of cooling that room (the bedroom is about 15X16 and down a small hallway), in the same weather as above the living room (where the A/C is located) was 65 degrees, the kitchen about 72 and with the assistance of a box fan in the hallway between the living room and the bedroom the latter was 78-80. In more normal summer weather the bedroom would be about 73-75 and the living room/kitchen area would be about 65-68. I live in a single-wide house trailer made in 1990 so it is more insulated than the older trailers but I think this air conditioner would do a great job even in the older trailers with less insulation (note that if the trailer has crank windows either a hole will need to be cut in the wall or the window replaced with a traditional window in order to use this air conditioner).
Now for the caveats: this air conditioner draws about 12 amps steady and about 17-18 amps for a split second when the compressor kicks on so it does require a dedicated circuit with either a 15 amp time-delay fuse/circuit breaker or a standard 20 amp fuse/circuit breaker (I recommend the latter) and 12/2 wiring in the circuit leading to it. This air conditioner is the largest available that will run on a standard 110-125 volt circuit. Also don't put it in a window without a stand outside supporting the air conditioner, it weighs about 150 pounds and will break a standard window without support. A cut to length 4X4 would do the job nicely.

I turned on the A/C unit for the year a couple of days ago. It is still working great. Last year it worked great even during July when the outdoor temps were pushing 110. Well worth what I paid for it.
