Do not buy this unit. When you hook it up it will not play 3d DVDs according to the help desk, It needs to update the firmware which can take anywhere from 24 to 48 hours. I don't know about you, but when I purchase something I expect to be able to use it when ever I want to. I can understand an hour or so but not two days!!.......JUNK!!!

Another excellent product from Vizio at a really good price! Bought this to replace our old DVD home theater system and couldn't be happier. Plays Blu Ray discs and regular DVDs as advertised...haven't tried 3D discs (no 3D TV yet), nor CDs or CDRs/CDRWs either but don't foresee a problem. Very easy to plug in and play. Remember to buy the Vizio HDMI cable also (was like $6 at Walmart). The cable allows you to receive the video and audio feeds through just the one cable...great sound! What I really love about this player is the WiFi; connects just like laptop. Set it up once and the machine remembers and auto connects thereafter. Listen to Pandora or watch YouTube music videos/videos through your TV for free or watch Hulu for a small fee (favorite TV shows) stream Netflix $7.99/mo. 1st month free to see if you like it. Fee applies after 1st mo. I now LOVE Netflix!. There is also Amazon Videos, a Vudu app that I haven't tried and web videos app (videos from TMZ, College Humor etc. from the .net) This is a great machine and you won't be disappointed if you are in the market for a Blu Ray player. Well worth the money!

Easy to install and set-up. Prompts were easy and quick to complete. I like the way you are instructed to complete register your Player during the initial set up. Get picture and nice lighting when turned on.

Will not play all 3D's. Right off the bat it needs a firmware update for 3D. Tried wireless, wired router, wired direct to modem as pre instructions of VIZIO support with no results. Was told to submit reciept for warrany and new player (which does not come updated and can only be done via internet, so you start all over). Have contacted them 6 times and get the same answers, no help. Do not buy for 3D, Bluray OK.

Main reason I pick this player was the WiFi. Netflix, Vudu, and Amazon have shortcut buttons on the remote so it makes it quick and simple. Picture is so sharp and clear, sound is wow and bold, and does not freeze up, compared to a Roku Stream Player. The remote is cool with the two sided function, although I was hoping for a remote like Vizio's Co-star with a touch pad.

I purchased this to go with my new VIZIO 60 in smart TV and, my VIZIO 5.1 sound bar. What a great combination. It is better then being at the movies. The sound and the pitcher jump right out at you. Get all three, what a great setup for less then $1500.00.

This Vizion 3D Blu-ray DVD player is awesome. We thought we had a great picture when we bought our Vizio HDTV, but when we watched our first Blu-ray DVD using this Vizio DVD player, we were floored! The picture is stunning! It required an extra cable, that we didn't have, but Walmart had what we needed. So, I would definitely recommend this Blu-ray player, but make sure that you buy terequired HDMI cable, that I personally think should be included, since the DVD player will not work without one.

After buying item it would not play BluRay disks properly, after trying to get response from Vizio for answer all I received was a patient corporate response. I did further research and found experiennced techs said the problem was a routine issue with this model that Vizio was well aware of, but left it on the market. The tech's felt VIZIO should have recalled all units. Their TV's appear to be fine their BluRay players, I have now owned 2 both had issues at playing BluRay disks. I would not recommend any Vizio player as their quality is poor and the company does not care about the customers problems with them.

I bought this 3D Blu-ray Player about 4 months ago. I, like you, read some of the harsh reviews that were associated with this product and was hesitant if only for a few minutes. I own the 47 inch Vizio 3D TV and was instantly satisfied with it is a product and, as a result, felt like Vizio earned my trust and I bought this 3D Blu-ray Player. And, I must say, it has yet to let me down. I've tried old DVDs, new DVDs, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray and all have played excellently on my TV. I just bought The Avengers in 3D and was thoroughly pleased. The 3D Blu-ray player worked seamlessly with my 3D Vizio TV without a hitch. I have tested the Wi-Fi and applications (Netflix etc.) of the Blu-ray player and they work just as great as the do from my TV.
The only "complaint" I suppose I have is that there is some load time after the disc is inserted into the Blu-ray Player. And by "some time" I literally mean like 1-15 seconds or so. I really feel like that is due to the complexities of the Blu-ray discs and the content on them. I HARDLY call this a complaint as it has never not played any of my movies.
Also, you should know that an HDMI cable is not included. You'll need to buy that separately. I felt like the product should come with it but depending on your TV's specifications, a better HDMI cable may be needed. My TV has a refresh rate of approximately 120 HZ so I opted for a higher end HDMI cable.

One thing I really like is switching the tv to 3d via the blu ray disc player. No need to find a menu to switch the tv, great.

Long story short, after 1 1/2 hr call to Vizio, then online chat with Vizio only to be told that an update is needed to play blueray dvd because of security settings from studios. Called Netflix to remove bluray service and told that this is totally untrue. Bottom line this brand new blueray player is awaiting the download of an update (frameware) which is not available at this time. Technician at Netflix recommends LG brand....
