The Coleman Big Basin extreme weather sleeping bag with contoured headrest will keep you comfortable and protected in temperatures down to 0-20 degrees Fahrenheit. It is a hybrid-shaped bag, with a mummy-shaped contoured headrest head and a rectangular bottom for extra foot space. The Big Basin is sized for the big and tall, measuring 39 inches wide by 92 inches long, fitting most people up to 6-foot, eight inches tall. It's made of a diamond ripstop cover over a polyester liner, with 4.5 pounds of ColeTherm insulation for reliable heat retention. It features double-batt, offset quilt construction to eliminate potential cold spots, with a semi-sculpted hood to surround your head with warmth, an insulated chest baffle to keep heat in the body of the bag, and a cozy fleece foot section to keep you toes warm. A full-length draft tube locks out chilly drafts, while a handy two-way zipper provides maximum ventilation. A convenient stuff sack is included.
Lots of room and feels great. I was still cold. We were in the mountains in the month of May and it was wet, windy and cold. Bring extra blankets or a heater. I still like the sleeping bag even though it did not keep me completely warm. If I was in a more enclosed tent it would have been sufficient. Tents in general seem to be built with a screen mesh that allows the wind to come in. We camped near Truckee, CA.
