Good Inexpensive All-In-One

My sister is an IT specialist for the IRS (nationwide) and says a printer's life is unpredictable. (No matter what brand.) She suggests to either buy a VERY expensive printer (which may or may last a long time), or pick up an inexpensive one and just replace it when it "dies". This time around, I went for "Option B" (inexpensive printer). So far, it's been great. Of course, the included ink cartridge is almost out of ink before you start printing - but that is to be expected. The paper feed is great with letter-size papers, but I've experienced some trouble trying to feed smaller sized paper through it. The scanner is decent, but it doesn't give you a lot of custom choices. (I think 600 dpi is the highest resolution scan it will perform.) Still, this does all your basic printing/scanning/copying needs for 40 bucks. At home, do you really need the fancy stuff? If not, go cost-effective.

it's easy to use,and it even shuts itself off after not being in use,makes good copy's and prints fine,I have'nt had the chance to try and print any photos yet,thats next try

This is my second printer of this brand--I love. Its so easy to hook it up and start using it, even for me as I'm not the technically inclined. First time I've ever done it totally by myself. I will recommend it to my friends and family and buy it again if I ever need another prnter.

Easy set up. The only complaint I have about this product, it didn't come with an USB cable. I had to supply my own. I have had this printer for only a week but I trust the Canon name and so far it is living up to its reputation. Came to the store quicker than predicted so that was a plus,also. I will shop thru Walmart online again. I just wish there was a easier and quicker way to pick up my selections that fighting the parking situation and having to walk all the way back to the old layaway department (which I miss ALOT by the way) to get my merchandise. A small store maybe just for pickup? A separate entrance on the storefront like the eye doctor entrance? A drive up and load canopy like Lowe's or Home Depot?

I did my research and found this to be the very best value! I also used to have to go to the library to make copies or QT at a cost. I am disabled and trust me when I say I have tons of paper work coming/going to make copies of so that was a help. The ease of hooking this up as I'm not a computer geek at all but am capable of hooking up a normal system was very helpful! These deals are awesome! I think that where you'll be "had" is if/when you have to replace the ink cartridges? I' purchased a $28 HP printer and the cost of the ink was far more than that of the printer! Especially color. So, for my needs in wanting to share photo's on line and making copies in black/white this is a great deal for me! I am very happy with it and the ink will probably dry up on it's own time before I use it anymore. Unless you want to print pictures this is a great deal! Mine came with a ream of paper of high quality they say but it's basically just regular paper??? Either way cant beat this deal!

I bought it with the special bundle of free paper. scanning works well. It didn't come with a usb cable so i had to find one in my house, good thing i have an extra at home. So annoying. The instructions say plug in the usb cable after you install. BUT THERE'S NO USB CABLE INCLUDED. I think it's type a plug to type b plug. It obviously needs a usb cable but they decided not to give you one because you will buy the printer anyways thinking that it should come with it. Maybe i should be glad that it even comes with a power adapter.

I purchased this printer for college based on the low price and high reviews. It was easy enough to set up but after a month the wireless printing would no longer work. I called Canon and the tech wasn't very helpful, so I just continued to use the printer with the USB. Not long after that, every page I would print wasn't aligned. Words overlapped each other or were partially cut off. I tried my laptop with a different printer and no problems. I had a friend who is great with computers take a look at it and he could not figure out why the printer wasn't working properly. The printer hadn't been dropped or moved off of my desk since I had bought it, so this sudden malfunction was a surprise. Never the less, I spent a little more money on a better printer and this one now sits at the bottom of the closet.
