bought this for my daughter at christmas to use with her ipad. It was exactly what we wanted. the only complaint I have is that its a little difficult at first to figure out which buttons to select to follow the on screen guide.

to be truthful I haven;t used it too much because i didn;t buy any backup ink.but i did make a picture and the color and drying option were splendid.i haven;t seen any machine preform as good as this and i also have an epsom which didn;t dry as great as this one andi had a kodak which totally was a waste of my money. had not a dell but lexus and another but to my remembering the first two wern;t multi-functioning but last for are and canon is by far the best product.just hope the ink doesn;t exceed the pricee it is now .thank you

I like the actual printing capabilities, but it seems to use LOTS of ink. Already bought 2 replacement cartridges, and I've only had it a month or less. Seems to much for me.

I needed a printer for occasional home printing, and so far, this one has done a good job. Printous are fast and clear. I'm sure it is capable of handling larger tasks and /or more frequency of use, if needed.

I have yet to figure out the wireless connection which was the purpose of my purchase. A friend provided me with a UBS cord which allows me to do what I need to do. The fax machine works great/ printer prints at a pretty good rate for a in home machine. Wish instruction where in the box to connect wireless and fax machine. You have to go online to figure it out. Hooking the fax machine up was easy. In time perhaps Ill get my wireless connection set up.

I'm just getting this together; (No internet service for 2 weeks--THANK YOU COMCAST). It makes nice clear copies. Good step-by-step instructions for an electronic challenged person like myself.
Good value. I will need to use it for awhile to make a more comprehensive assessment. As usual, excellent site-to-store delivery. Wal-Mart--Please talk to Comcast; they don't understand how customer service works.

I always seem to be drawn to Cannon Products, you get a very good product for the price you pay. I needed a wireless printer to install with my laptop and since my USB ports were broken, this one worked perfect because I didn't have to use a USB cord. Thanks to the advice from Canon People.

Had the printer for about 2 weeks. Love how easy it was to connect wirelessly. Prints black & white pages super quickly! Haven't printed photos yet, but hear good things about the quality of photos printed from this printer. Cons: ink is very expensive and printer is bulky in size (then again, what should I expect from an all-in-one?). We'll see how long the ink lasts. Overall, great buy!

Looking for an All-in-One Printer with wireless access? Stop shopping! This is your baby! As a Consumer Reports member, I checked out all of the printers in this category; and the Canon PIXMA MX512 is by far the best for the money! I love the wireless! My wife teased me because I muted the TV so I could hear the printer in the study print a document I sent to it! Now, to be fair, I haven't had it long enough to verify how it does on ink usage. But the quality of print for regular Word color documents has been far above average! I am so pleased, I am considering getting one for the office!

I love this printer. Took a few minutes to set up and get it going but once we were able to set it up works like a charm. We tested it and printed from laptop and phone wireless. Very cool. I have not been able to figure out the scanner and have not tried the fax option.

Not easy to fix problems

I had read on-line reviews for this printer where some people had problems getting this wireless printer setup. I got through the setup without any real difficulty. I followed the steps to align the printer and again that was easy enough. I started printing and the first 10-15 pages printed beautifully. I was very happy with this printer up until this point.
Then the problems began. The next page I printed got jammed. It didn't look like a bad jam. It was just stuck loading the paper. I followed the steps in the troubleshooting guide to remove the paper jam without much difficulty. However, now when I tried to print the alignment was all messed up and some of the lines on the page are shifted to the left. Because things aren't aligned it looks blurry and is hard to read.
At this point I found that most of the diagnositic and repair features of this printer cannot be done wirelessly. I went through all of the auto alignment diagnostics that I could launch from the machine but the alignment problem remained. Next the guide said if that doesn't work try doing the manual alignment. To do this I had to get a usb cable to connect the computer to my laptop because the machine doesn't come with one. I then went through the very tedious manual alignment and every other option from the troubleshooting menu and the problem still remained.
I needed to print some things right away so I connected back up my old HP that I was replacing with this one (and which I had borrowed the usb cable from to do the manual repairs) and printed what I needed. I packed this Canon back up and returned it. I'm sure that I could have called Canon to get help but this printer was already much more trouble than it was worth.

this was hard to set up wireless but worth the effort. The scanner is all I wanted it to be and more, copies good and quickly. On screen menu gives great flexibility.
