Good for longer bread

The problem I had with my old toaster is that it only worked for traditional sized bread. I prefer larger breads, but to fit those in my toaster I would have to trim off an edge, which was a hassle.
This toaster solves that problem nicely, and if you're doing bagels or smaller break then you can make enough for two people at once - no waiting or taking turns. The only problem I has was with English muffins. They don't pop up far enough to pull them out. You can pull the lever up a little, and that helps, but I still burned my fingers reaching in to get them.
It does take up more counter space than other toasters, so this might not be good in a tiny kitchen. And it looks nice, but like most stainless steel appliances it, shows every little fingerprint and smudge.

Everything that was said is true. Burns both edges no matter what you try. I move the toast while toasting--it still happens. Very disappointed. Very.

I have had this toaster for over a year. HOWEVER, I don't eat much toasted products so it has only been used a few times before it broke. Didn't even make it through two loaves of bread, in fact never even had to clean out the crumb tray. The springs that pop up the little ledge the toast sits on don't spring up and trying to fish my bread out of a hot toaster is a pain literally.

I love the look of the toaster - Beautiful Stainless Steel -- but....
1) BOTH sides go down at once. What if I only want to cook 2 pieces of toast? BOTH Sides heat. WHY? What a waste of power and it will wear out faster. I might have put up with this --- BUT....
2) The MOST IMPORTANT thing is that the toaster is NOT COOL TOUCH when it is working.
----- THAT is a deal breaker! --- BACK IT WENT - THE NEXT DAY!

I only heated it up once as per/directions before use. It would have BURNed my hands.

I use deli rye for morning toast and the new toaster replaced a distant cousin that served my purposes for more than 8 years. No other toaster has the long opening for multiply uses.

Finally bought a 4-slot toaster. Like the rectangular design and stainless steel exterior. But.....the burners do not all work after less than one year. Quite often the edges of the bread burn. Pop-tart (toaster pastries) fall through to the bottom and have to be fished out (unplug the toaster first). Very disappointed in this Oster product.

I purchased this item to replace another toaster that finally gave out. Unfortunatley, I wish I had made time to review the product before purchasing..it just looked so "sharp" sitting on the shelf :). This toaster seems to burn your food no matter the setting it's on, unless you want to place on setting 1 and keep making multiple attempts to get it just right without burning hoping to finally get to eat what it is you are cooking. You try to learn to adjust the fuction lower , as to learn from your mistakes, but it still has a darker browning than desired. If you make a toaster strudel and choose the Frozen function, it still burns the edges and the center is lukewarm. I am truly fustrated with this item and wish I still had the box or I'd return it in a heartbeat.

I have noticed that my toast burns on one side and barely gets toasted on the other. On setting 2, my bagels burn on the bagel setting. It works fine when I pop it up myself. Maybe I just have a defective model or it just needs to be used more (been in use for about 2 weeks now).

This is a well sized toaster being both lightweight and streamlined. It is easy to use. The toasting bay is long enough to do 4 slices of toast. The bagel feature is great! The outside of the bagel is nicely toasted with the inside warmed. The defrost setting also works well. We've been using this toaster for about 2 months now without incident, it's easy to use, easy to clean up and toasts evenly and well.

This toaster barely made it 2 years. First one side would not stay down and then the heating element on that side went. We used it about 3 times a week for toast it should have lasted longer than this. Will not buy another Oster brand toaster.

Not only is this the most inconsistent toaster I have ever owned, but the cage on which the toast sits, only raises on one end and causes everything to burn (regardless of setting) and must be turned upside down to get toasted item out. It looks good, but I really wished I had kept my receipt or box to return it to the store. I may still try for a store credit at the least.

My son heats up at least 3 bagels a day between himself and his brothers. We also like frozen waffles. I got a 4 slice toaster because for the 5 of us it took forever to make breakfast. With this toaster I have to re-toast everything 2-3 x's, no exageration! I have a $5-10 toaster that has been in use for over 15 years that works perfectly. I don't want to spend $100 on a Cuisinart but every toaster under $70 has awful reviews. Too bad I really liked the long sleek design.

I really was impressed with this toaster. We can not toast large slices of bread without having to cut them, and it has a cancel button for when you change your mind about how long you want your bread in for. This is awesome. We have it in red for our home, and bought one for my mother-in-law in white and silver. Love Love this toaster.

Worst toaster ever.

Does not matter what bagel or toast setting you use or how many times you use it, it will not make toast or a bagel the same way twice. Half the time it makes a vibrating type noise while you are using it. Two peices of regular bread is to much weight for the spring to pop up with. You have to lift the handle up to the top to grab the toast. If you put four halves of bagels in it, it will NOT pop up at all when it is done and burn them to a crisp. Actually the four settings; warm, toast, bagel and frozen are basically the same. The dial for toast level; anything over level 3 is burned. I felt stupid for spending so much on a toaster anyway. Looks great though. Now i feel like a idiot. I left out to sea for two weeks the day after i got it. The box and receipt were thrown away by the wife. Was planning on taking it back. Do not buy this toaster.
