Only had this 60" plasma 4 days now. Great picture,color and sound. I'm loving it!! But you must have HD cable to really enjoy the quality. For a 1000 bucks before tax, can't beat it. Didn't really want to buy a plasma. But today, plasmas are made better, and last longer than the old school ones. Why waste thousands on a smart TV when you can buy a blue ray?? The only disappointment with this Samsung is that it only has 2 HDMI ports and no audio output to plug into my stereo receiver. Other than that, great buy!!

The initial picture quality is excellent and far superior when compared to an LED. However, the technology inside a plasma TV is much more complex and demanding of all aspects of operation. If you want to substantiate my summary, please check the internet. NOTE > when picture problems occur, the most common fix is to replace the picture screen and to do this will cost more than the original purchase price of the complete unit. So good luck and make yourself aware of what you are getting into.

Thanks for the warning - but it would be more helpful if you let us know what problem(s) your particular TV experienced and how long it was trouble free. With one star I can see it lasted less than you expected, but what is/was the lifespan of your TV ?

I got this TV for my husband for an "early" Christmas gift this year.
HE LOVED IT!!!
The picture quality is exceptional! The sound is clear and loud enough to hear over six kids and three dogs. The best part of this TV is the size for our family and house. It is like having our own in-home theatre. It is a gift our whole family will enjoy for years and years to come. We definitely would recommend this TV to EVERYONE else looking for a great 60" plasma with super quality for a really good price. "Thank you"

I am happy with the picture quality, design and the price. The sound quality is below average. If you have a sound bar or HT, you should be fine.
There is a glare/reflection under bright lights (common in PLasmas) but apart from this this is a great buy.

I bought this tv for $848 (free shipping) on Black Friday. Free delivery was great because I could not have gotten it home. The top of the shipping box lifts off so the tv is very easy to remove. My 13 year put the tv together and got it working in just a few minutes. Love the size. Love the picture. Thank you Walmart!

I bought this tv online on Black Friday (2012) for 46% off, or so it says; we all know how marketing works! I was thinking the picture was going to be very crisp and realistic looking,( like the objects could just come out of the tv) but alas it's more of a fuzzy kind of quality. It's not terrible by any means but I guess I was just expecting more from Samsung. I have it hooked to my surround sound so I haven't even bothered with the sound knowing most flat screens suck in sound quality. I bought this to replace my 42" Best Buy brand LCD tv for the living room that started to have that phantom marks in the middle of the screen. That tv had a brighter, brilliant color, and more clear picture than this. I should have researched a little more before buying, but couldn't resist the deal. I also didn't buy the extended warranty, and after reading some of the reviews on here and other sites I really wish I did. I guess I'll have to just pray I didn't blow $1000 on something that will only last 6 months.

I'm on my iPhone so ill keep it short. Good tv. I calibrated it cuz everyone said I need too but it was already great picture. Wish it had more ports in back. And if it were a smart tv and had more features this tv would b unbelievable.

Had been looking for a 50 inch TV at a reasonable price for a while but when this one came up on sale before Thanksgiving, I had no choice but to purchase. This is my second Samsung (first is a 40 inch LCD) and it is one big TV! It was easy to set in place with two people and works well with DirecTV. I can't really assess the sound quality since I hooked it up to a Bose radio. I was not really familiar with plasma, and there are some precautions you need to take before you touch the screen or lay it on anything...in other words, read the directions. The picture is good, but I haven't figured out how to get my DirectV receiver to show it in 1080 mode yet, so I haven't gotten the true picture quality. Shipping and delivery were top quality. I'm really loving this TV.

My first observation, since this is replacing a LED TV, was the glare from the glass. I had to rearrange my LR and put up winter curtains in order to be able to see through the glare. Once done I put in my favorite BluRay version of Avatar and was stunned. The visual clarity and detail was far better than being in a theatre. My only regret is I didn't get a 3D version. There's always next Xmas! If you have a bright room forget plasma. If you have a dark and comfy room you will love everything about this TV!

Very good quality tv. The only minimal issue is the amount of plugs in the back. Not enough to have all the entertainment consoles plugged in at the same time, but it's no big deal to just unplug one to plug in another. Great tv otherwise!

This plasma is awesome. I did have to take the first one back to the store for a new one. Speakers muffled and bad out of the box. Walmart exchanged and the second one is awesome. Highly recommend for the price. Great Color, Great contrast, good viewing angle, Blacks are Black, Sound is ok but could use a little more wattage but not bad.
