The picture is great, even straight out of the box. Very clear lines, very vivid colors. Setup was very easy, when you first turn the TV on it takes you through this setup wizard that is pretty simple.
It has builtin wi-fi which is way better than running cables or hooking up adapters. It has a builtin Samsung SMART online portal with apps like YouTube, Pandora etc. that you download straight to the TV. The online interface can be a little buggy at times, but for being a TV the whole thing is pretty slick. It can also connect to other networked devices using Samsung All-Share. Most Samsung devices come with it preloaded (I have a Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note connected with mine) and those devices can share pictures, music etc. directly with each other. You can also download it to PCs to use the same way. I have to say, the connectivity options built in were impressive.
This thing is razor thin, it's hard to imagine how they crammed a TV into an inch of space. However, you have to take that into consideration if you decide you want to wall mount it. All cable connectors point straight out the back (rather than downward on some thicker TVs), so if you want to wall mount you have to allow room for the cables.
My one single complaint with this TV is the automatic light sensor, which auto adjusts the brightness based on how bright or dark the room is. It seems like it's constantly making the picture brighter or darker, back and forth. I've read there's no way to turn it off -- I just kind of got used to it. It's not so bad 90% of the time, but there are times when the picture gets really dark for no reason. And, when the room is completely dark (the only light coming from the TV), I've seen it where the brightness from the TV itself was enough to trigger the auto adjust.
Overall, though, it's an awesome TV. I've only seen a couple movies in 3D but it looked pretty good. It does come with 2 pairs of active 3D glasses, which is enough for me, but if you want more I believe they're a bit expensive.
Also works great with Samsung HT-E6500W 3D WiFi Home Theater. Similar setup, same online portal and All-Share access, great sound and picture. I'll save that review for another time.
Bottom line -- I'm very glad I bought this TV.

Spent a lot of time doing a study before this purchase. When walmart dicounted the price on this 3d set, I jumped at it. Has everything I wanted and then some. Was very satisfied. Walmart online service couldn't have handled this purchase and any better. Except for some reason, had a hard time finding the extended warranty for it. But I found it on line the next day.
The picture quality is great. The 3D is a nice added touch. Remote is easy to use and the apps I'm still learning my way around. The wifi pretty much connected itself.
For such a large tv, it's doesn't weigh a lot. Was able to use the same wall bracket I was using for my 42in plasma and by myself.
I would even buy this set for my own mother.

After several weeks of researching online and Consumer Reports for an updated flat screen to replace the old 32" Phillips bulky television inside our familyroom. We had narrow it down to three brands of Sony, Samsung and LG. We selected the Samsung Smart TV 3 D- 55" model# UN55ES6500 because it has extra features like using the wireless keyboard and mouse with the smart TV websearch and the base swivels left to right for any sitting arrangements in the room. It has been 2 weeks now and we're happy with our purchase from Walmart online instead of dealing with Best Buy & HHgregg (Daytona Beach, FL locations) which we did not appreciate the unprofessionalism of the salespersons and not getting the best customer service to purchase a big ticket item. It was a better experience to buy at Walmart online and site to store pick up was stress free for us.

What a picture! So bright and clear. Can't wait to watch something in 3D. So many features..all great. It was a little more than I planned to spend by after reading about Samsung's rating, it looks like it may be worth the extra $$ spent.
