This is replacing a 37" 6 1/2 yr old $1300.00 tv that died last week. The picture on this Samsung is better than my old TV when it was new! I did a lot of research and was pleased with the reviews not only on this site but others and decided to purchase this TV. It doesn't have all the "bells and whistles" but it had exactly what I needed. My last one did and look what happen and the money I wasted on it. I would highly recommend this TV. I am an older female who is electroncially challenged and I was able to set up and program this TV (husband helped me put it on the stand and went to work!). BTW, I ordered this on a Monday and received it on Wednesday!

I actually purchased this tv for a Christmas gift to myself, and I'm very pleased with it! The picture quality is fabulous! The only thing that would make this tv a "10" would be to have tru surround sound...but I'm not complaining!

We like it very much, have a older LG which is very good but this one has it beat. Picture couldn't be any better, we watch only in HD and it is very sharp with perfect colors. It did tweak a few things but pretty good with Factory settings. Sound could be a little better but I think it is as good as you get on the very thin sets.

Dead Pixel Line In Middle of Picture

The set arrived in good condition. The thin sleek design is outstanding and easy to lift and move. We installed it and turned it on. To our disappointment a horizontal line approximately an inch wide of "dead" pixels appeared in the middle of the screen on every channel. We were very disappointed and would have accepted an exchange but Walmart was completely sold out of this model. We took it to our local Walmart and were given a full refund without hassle.
Note: Samsung offered to repair the set for free but the nearest repair center is 40mi away and Samsung was unwilling to reimburse the costs of taking the set to a town 40mi away or offer any sort of rebate. In addition, we would have been without a set during the length of time it takes to repair the set.

All the on-line recommended viewing distances led us into a 40 inch. I'd say it should be viewed at no less than 15 feet. My wife views at 9 feet and I view at 11 feet which are both way to close.

For the $ it is a very good value. Set up was easy. Picture is GREAT! It does not have a swevel stand but maybe because it's a 40" screen. Had to buy Sansung again as I already have a 32" that is 3 years old and love that one too. I feel Sansung is the best.

This, without any question , is the best TV in the medium price range there is...I opted for the larger 40 inch w/o wifi, because that's NOT what I want a tv for...Now if you wish a tv with wifi, I suggest the 32 inch for the same price....Picture quality about the same...The larger screen was what I wanted, and I have NOT been disappointed!!!!! BUY with Confidence from WalMart.Com!!!!!!!

Initially bought a Samsung CFL LCD 1080p 120Hz HDTV. Decided that, for more money, we preferred an LED LCD so ordered this TV. Much happier with picture quality, especially from side angles. Easy setup. Menu quite intuitive. Better, stronger stand than LCD TV had. Don't care for the fast motion enhancing feature that gives it the Clear Motion Rate of 240Hz because the picture gets a "soap opera" look. We don't watch sports much so don't concern ourselves with that, but all motion scenes so far look fine. Get a much larger viewing area than many flat screens with the same or even larger outside dimensions due to the very narrow frame - about 1 inch. This 40" has an overall outside width of only 36.5"

Strangely enough, the television delivered was a clear motion 240 and not a 120hz. However, it looks like the same television. I'm not certain if I got the correct set, or if it is simply a typo on the site. Consider that with my review.
Pros: Great picture and the best sound I have ever had from a flatscreen. The small bezel (frame) makes it look and feel more high-end.
Cons: None really. Only 2 HDMI slots may be an issue eventually, but I knew that going in. Like most Samsungs, they are located on the right side, which can be an issue depending on your room's layout.
It was delivered in 5 days and was easy to install. One issue is the Verizon controller does not want to fully recognize the television, but I'm sure I'll work that out eventually.

My new 40" LED Samsung TV is wonderful! Easy to install right from the box. The picture quality is excellent, along with the sound. I am very pleased with this purchase. And, one more thing...an email message said I could expect delivery in a week. But, to my great surprise, it was delivered by FedEx the very next day! What could be better than that?

I couldn't believe how fast my TV was delivered. The picture quality is beyond words. I shopped around very carefully and found this to be my best bet. There were other 40" Samsung TV's, but with 120 HZ for the same price. I especially ordered because for the same price I now have 240 HZ. Very happy indeed.

Except that it had a problem with a popping noise much like popcorn popping that was very disconcerting and a bit alarming. I researched it online, called the HELP line through Samsung, received 48 minutes of help, contacted the store where we'd bought it for help, the professional technician who installed it for us, and a local teenager who knows about these things, all to no avail. But Walmart, through whom we'd bought it, has a 90-day return policy no questions asked, so when the technician suggested he'd return it, that he thought it sounded worrisome, we did. Walmart says you need the original box, though they let us return it this once without it. We'll order another now that we have our refund--but this time we'll keep the box for 90 days to be sure!
PS YOu are too fussy about the nicknames. Who cares? OK, I'll try a ninth time. This is getting to be a joke....

This TV exceeded my expectations. It is easy to set up with detailed instructions on set-up along with info on hooking up cable, VCR and any optional speakers. The quality of the built-in speakers is fine for my needs. Nice colors and contrast with a fast refreash rate.
