Picked up the tv after ordering it online. One of the main concerns was the box was pretty damaged...Made me sceptical as too how the tv was going to look inside. But there was no damage to tv.
Had it up and running in about 15 minutes. The sound quality is good, but it seems the speakers are in the back of unit. Overall I am very happy with the tv.

My Samsung is 16 months old and the picture has gone out. Samsung said they can't help because it's not under warranty so they referred me to a repair shop. I called 2 for quotes and both told me that they see more Samsungs than any other tv in their shops for this vary reason. They also said that it's not worth the price to fix it and we should purchase a new tv...but both shops recommended not buying a Samsung!

I have had this TV for 3 weeks now and I love it. The picture is great and the size is perfect for my living room. I was a little worried about the sound after reading some reviews, but I went into the audio menu and made sure the settings were all on and I have great sound! I love this TV!

Just got this TV, so I can't comment on its reliability. Otherwise, I give it a 4.5. I do have two other larger Samsungs and have been very satisfied with them. I have been shopping for a new bedroom TV for awhile and I as soon as I saw that this model's cost had been lowered to $.01 below that magic price where the 3 yr. extended service agreement drops to <$45 (just in case#, I jumped on it.
This model was on active display at the store. It is an LCD and the picture, while nice, was not as dynamically vivid as some others, but given the intended bedroom usage this did not concern me much. I did notice that its whites were truer than most and equaled by only a few of the many sets on display.
My biggest concern was the most common complaints listed in other reviews here: Sound quality and a complete lack of output jacks.
Sound quality was a little tinny at first, but I activated the SRS TrueSurround feature and tweaked the equalizer a bit and its fine. Sound quality seems to be the number one complaint #along with DOA's or shipping damage# for all TV's from this retailer. You can't expect much out of any TV less than 3 inches thick, people!!! #and speakers can't face forward when the whole face is LCD and minimal bezels#
The lack of jacks both in and out is a little alarming, especially if I want to add a sound system because it will require multiple separate hookups from each source or pass throughs on the sound system and sometimes you need a settable delay to synch the video on the TV and the audio, because of a slight delay in the video processing. I don't know if relatively inexpensive sound bars can do that, but since I consider the sound passable for the bedroom now, it's not issue. It is something to consider for rec room or similar usage.
I am very happy at this point. This is a no-frills, good picture, fairly large screen TV, from a reliable manufacturer at a very competitive price. The last time I paid this little for a TV was the first 26" tube TV to drop to the same price as this one and that was in 1982 dollars #It's still working in the garage#. If I get a fraction of that use out of this one, i'll be ecstatic.

This is a great product at a wonderful price. Fantastic picture, we are very pleased with everything except the sound quality, which can be described as "tinny." We knew this was the case from other reviews, but it is not really a problem since we use the 5.1 surround sound with a separate amp.

Very good value for the money. Purchased after much research on TV's with better than avg. sound quality. The TV has a menu feature entitled "clear voice". Sound quality better than the TV it replaced. Another nice feature is the almost frameless screen. Gives full 46" screen while minimizing space requirement.

Reasonably priced, quality picture, moderately user friendly interface, average sound quality. Picture is very nice for the price, and I have never heard a flat set with decent sound. The sound from mine is weak, like all stock speakers are. You will NOT be able to use a sound bar with the in-set tuner as there is NO audio output. Granted there are workarounds if you were using cable, dish, or any audio outputting device. So, if you want good sound and would like a sound bar for "air" broadcast antennae tv this WILL NOT be the set for you. You would need a 2nd external tuner to use a sound bar for antennae tv with this set. This is not an issue for me, and I am satisfied with the sound, it is on par with most other tvs. Would recommend to friends, unless they wanted a sound bar for antennae tv.

What a major disappointment!

We bought this TV yesterday based on a high star rating, but I should have dug a little deeper and it would have saved us some time and energy.
We brought it home only to discover that there is no "audio out" and worse, the speakers are horrible. There was a lot of distortion even when the volume was all the way down to 15. The picture quality was fine, no complaints there... but the sound was so bad that we ended up boxing it up and bringing it back.
We ended up going to Sams Club and getting a much better TV for less money. I wish we had gone to Sams Club in the first place.
I wonder if the people who gave this such high reviews have eardrums? How did they not hear all that distortion?
I guess it shows that you can't count on the star ratings. Better to actually read the reviews, especially the negative ones.

This is my first flat screen TV and I am completely satisfied with it. It's a big step up from my 16" Sony! Online reviews of this model are generally favorable but knock it for not having audio outputs for direct connection of external speakers. That's not a problem for me at all. I find, like many other reviewers, that the sound quality is not overwhelming. But, considering what I'm stepping up from, it's great. Setup was very fast and easy. The only problem I had initially was hooking up my DVD. Idiot moi!!! Plugging it up correctly - helps a Lot and solves all problems!

I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the picture. My only complaint is that the sound quality is not the best but it works. A surround sound will be my next purchase. Other than that, it is a really good value. I'd buy it again.
