Junk, do not buy. I bought one and the sound was horrific and the buttons on the side didn't even work. Junk, junk, junk!!!!!! If you're going cheap at least spend the extra 50 bucks and get the insignia NS-39L240A13 on sale from Best Buy. That's the one I ended up getting for my son who plays a lot of video games and he really likes it.

We were so pleased with the TV we attempted to order another one, but it was no longer available. I am not surprised, as it is a great value. Easy to assemble stand, picture and sound are great. I could not believe it was delivered to my local Wal-mart in only three days!

Much better than I expected.
Diappointed that there is no code to use my universal remote.
Not the greatest sound system but acceptable.
Paid for the three year warrenty which I now think was a mistake.
I would definetly buy another one if the need arises.

Came in better than I had thought, but with exactly the number of shortcomings I had expected.
Picture quality is great. Inputs are easily navigable in the menu. Build quality is acceptable - No clear shortcomings, and it doesn't look cheap.
The gigantic menu on power-up is a bit annoying.
The speakers are very tinny. The glass base gives the model a very cheap feel.
I'd still recommend the TV if the price is less than 1/4 of a grand.

I bought this for my son for Christmas. Under $250 for a 37" TV? Yes, I was nervous. I had never heard of the brand but figured it was worth a shot. He loves it! I was worried about the sound quality based on other reviews, but he has not experienced any of the issues I read about. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who either doesn't want to spend a lot, or can't afford to spend a lot (like me)!

Great price the tv looks great for a 1080 60 .
The speaker quality is the only catch.
The sound quality isn't the greatest if your trying to use it in a living room but for a play room or bedroom its just fine!
I recomend this tv for anyone that DOESN'T turn the volume all the way up.

Now, this does not mean that the sound is bad, no it is just that the sound is quite low. It appears that the initial amplification stage is not quite performing!
So, when you plug in speakers (I use Lenovo PC speakers that are powered via USB and this TV has a USB input!!!), you have a wonderful full-range sound!

Ok, now the picture: it is just wonderful!!!! It is clear and not at all distorted. You do not see flat head people like in some expensive TVs. Pictures are well proportioned, clear and with very good realistic colors (no bleeding at all!!!)
The setup menu has everything you will need to configure the TV to your liking. If you need an equivalent TV to program your DirectTV remote control, use the Curtis Mathes manufacturer and the code that works is 10060.
Enjoy your TV!!!

For a cheap TV, this thing has got a great picture. I was amazed that it was actually as good as it is. I rated picture quality at a 4 because it's response time is not the best and motion can cause minor blurriness. Hardly noticeable.
I read lots of reviews prior to buying this and they all comment on how poor the sound is, and they're right. When I first hooked it up I had to use a standard coaxial cable as it doesn't come with an HDMI cable and the sound was horrible. Once I hooked the HDMI to it, the sound improved dramatically, at least 100%. The TV is lacking on some of the louder, thumpier base sounds and some sounds seem louder than others but it's not terrible either.
I have Blue Ridge as a cable provider and I had to use the random code search to setup the remote as the only Hiteker code didn't work but after that, setting up my 2nd TV was a breeze.
Summary: 37" LCD HDTV w/1080p for $250? Buy it. Set it up with HDMI and at most, buy a sound bar for it (not terribly needed) and enjoy! I've had it since 12/5, today is 12/27, wish I had bought it sooner.

I unpacked it, plugged it in put in a movie seen a blue line down the right hand side, put it on normal tv, like was still there. I took it back and now re-ordering a new one. I hope I get it before Christmas! Great deal, and nice screen, sound is okay. Just the blue line, so I had to get a new one. I will re-post after I get the new one.

I bought my daughters the 26" Hiteker tvs with dvd players built in 2 months ago.For some reason, when you watch a dvd, the picture takes up the full screen, but when you watch regular tv, there is NO way to adjust it so that you get a 26" view. Even in widescreen aspect-there are 3 inches of dead space on each side, resulting in a 21" screen view. I took a chance and hoped that that was an issue only with the 26" version, and bought myself the 37" tv at it's special price this month. Hooked it up today, played around for an hour- I have a 30-32" wide picture on my 37" screen, can't change it. Tried to google Hiteker directly for a faq page- they are a European company, and I can't find any english guides about their tvs. The enclosed guide has NOTHING about changing the aspect or screen ratio, trouble shooting section is one page of pictures that are a joke. If you have cable and an hdmi hookup, this tv will NOT give you a 37" image. But if you're just using it for dvd viewing or as a computer moniter, it might. The quality of the image and sound are fine, I'm just upset that the screen view is so much smaller than the screen size.
