Its a basic computer nothing fancy. The mouse pad on the laptop barely works to move your cursor around but it does the job if I just use it to read my emails.

Less than 80 days and laptop wont hold a charge. replaced it and still doesnt work. Toshiba requires us to mail laptop for depot service at our expense.

I previously had a Toshiba laptop for five years, gave it to my son and then purchased this new Toshiba.
So far a good product, I was really upset about the fact I had to call Tech support because the manual was in a different language. I had to re program the whole computer. The Tech walked me through a total factory reset. He was not the most pleasant person and I am not a computer Tech. So I was not happy about the whole thing. It did turn out okay and I learned something, but I could have done without that knowledge. Still don't understand the whole reasoning behind the problem. I was not given an explanation just a fix.
Hope bad beginning, good ending.

I bought the lap top for my brother who is bedridden with MS. It arrived damaged, but his caregiver was able to exchange it at a local Walmart in North Seattle. I was very pleased that they were willing to help. Thank you.

I bought this because it was cheap. If I would have written the review right after buying it, I would have said oh it's great, does what I want it to. Two weeks later or so, after actually trying to watch movies on it and listening to music, I will say take a little bit more time and buy the next price group up.
This computer is so slow that it barely functions. The sound quality is horrible. I can't hear music or videos without plugging in headphones. The keypad is in such a strange spot and the special key functions cause an enormous amount of trouble in MS Office applications as well as on webpages. Pages open and close because of hover keys or strange and unnecessary key combo functions. I have lost entire blocks of text due to ridiculous and unwanted automatic key functions. 32 versus 64 bit, say what?? Why can't it just be normal? My laptop is a dud. Huge headache.
If I had money to blow, I would take this computer into an abandoned field and kill it.

I'm not sure if this is happens to all of them but on the first day I was installing the programs that I use I started to have problems with the mouse pad. The cursor jumped all over the place. Then I started having problems with the computer crashing and when I called Toshiba they had be re-set the factory presets. Which meant that I lost all the programs I had installed. I have since sent the computer back to the factory to have the problems fixed and am hoping that they get fixed. I'll let you know if it gets better or not. But for now I'd suggest that you don't buy this computer. As far as I'm concerned it sucks and I wouldn't suggest anyone buy it. There are other computers that are around the same price that may be better

I bought this laptop for my school aged son. I am very impressed with it for the money spent. It has plenty of memory & hard drive space for what his needs are. This was bought for school projects as well as surfing the net and other personal uses.

This was a gift from a friend who had it mailed to my home. We went to the local Wal-Mart store in Live Oak, Florida and chose this Toshiba C655 computer. where we ordered and had it shipped to my home. It arrived within the specified time in perfect shape and the computer itself exceeds my expectations and learning more on it everyday. I write a blog daily and this computer has increased my potential in submission with its excellent quality. The price was extremely reasonable and it does pay to shop at Walmart...I recommend this product to all.

I think this machine represents a fairly good dollar-value, considering its features.
I've had it for almost two months now, and it's holding up very well. The WiFi works
great at most local establishments. It's not my main machine. I purchased it to use
only when on the road or away from the house.

In terms of processing speed, the machine is definitely slow, even with 64-bit apps.
This was most likely by design in an effort to conserve battery power. I find it's
good for about 5 hours of heavy use before requiring recharge.

Toshiba support seems to be a little light. They could use some updated driver
sets on their web site. I also noticed that the BIOS version installed on the machine
isn't available from their web site. According to what I've read, if the machine
requires hardware service, I would need to ship it back to Toshiba. I would have
preferred a local repair option.

I bought this laptop for my husband for Father's day. Yes, he got his early! He was using a Net Book for the internet. When he set this new laptop up... he was amazed at the huge screen, and the clear picture. I'm very happy about the price too! I bought the bundle... Laptop, case, wireless printer, and USB flash device. I love the printer too! Now we have one upstairs, and downstairs. No more running upstairs to print a document. It has made my life easier.

i bought this computer in march 2012.at first it was great,then around a month ago the issues started.first i started having trouble getting the wireless adapter to work.had to install some update from the toshiba site to get it to work.fine took care of that well around a week later i was surfing online when suddenly my laptop crashes.i got a blue screen with some error code and i couldn't get get it to log in again.after calling toshiba again and having to reset my laptop to out of the box state,we got it to work again.it worked fine for two more weeks and the same thing happened again,this time with a different error code,now i take care of it, don't let my kids play with it,have a good antivirus,clean and defragment hard drive at least once a month.there no reason other than it is a poor quality computer period.i've had acer and hp before and i never had any issues with either one until at least 3 years or so.anyways i was told by toshiba that i have to send it in to a repair depot,and on top of that have to pay 24.95 shipping because they wont pay for it.so i would not recommend this computer to anyone,but if you still wanna buy it,well good luck.
