This Better Homes and Gardens Rustic Country Panel TV Stand features a warm, distressed-look engineered wood base and antiqued black metal trim which evoke the charm of a well-loved antique. Bring the feeling of a vintage piece sourced in the California Wine country to your living room, den or TV room. With two spacious shelves for storing media components, books, magazines or knick knacks and two drawers for storing DVDs and games, this Pine Panel TV stand has everything you need for a super fun and stylish movie or game night with the whole family. Textured metal legs feature fixed wheels.
This TV stand looked wonderful on display in the store. I always have to keep in mind that looks can be deceiving. Because of it's size and weight (99 lbs. in the box) we deceided to have it shipped to our home. It did arrive within 6 days of ordering and the Fed Ex ground driver was very helpful with getting it into our living room.
Then the fun started. It was very well packed in the box - lots of styrofoam and heavy cardboard packing corners. While there were no marking from shipping damage on the box, the top piece of the stand was damaged. It appears that it was damaged at the factory. A piece of metal that is attached to the top as an embelishment was secured to tightly, causing the top to have a large crack in it. I called the customer service line of the vendor (Sauder) - they are staffed Monday to Friday - not on the weekends. This was Saturday.
Our next decision was to try to repack the unit and send it back, or try to get the replacement part. We opted for ordering the part online (also done on Saturday), and build as much as we could. We spent at least 10 hours on Saturday and Sunday. It was not an easy project. The directions and pictures were hard to follow. We have assembled alot of furniture before, but this had to be the most difficult build we have attempted. This is not a good piece of furniture for the first-time DIY person.
On Monday I called customer service again. They did have a record of my online request for parts and promised to send the top out as soon as possible.
It is now a week later and we are still waiting for the top to our TV stand. I now have a big, half finished piece of furniture in my living room and a TV on the floor. I call Sauder again this morning to check on the progress of our order. The customer service person said that it had been shipped out of their CA facility. We had not received a tracking number from the vendor - she gave us the number and said that it was scheduled (by the Fed Ex Ground people) to be delivered today. Untill this part is received, and the stand is completly assembled, I can not give a "completly satisfied" review to this product.

Review 2 for Better Homes and Gardens Rustic Country Antiqued Black/Pine Panel TV Stand for TVs up to 52"
this stand/center is exactly what I wanted. It looks great. the other reviews said that it took 3-4 hours to put together and that is true. first off, it is a heavy box. I got it ship to store, but you have to get it into your house and assemble it. It looks great and has 2 shelves that will hold a cable box or DVR or whatever very nicely. It is well made. Just be prepared for heavy lifting and a lot of assembly.

Is hard to assemble

I read the reviews about the stand being hard to assemble, but since we liked the product and was looking for a rustic table, we decided to take it anyways, were already in the store and kind of decided on the look (in the box, there was no display)
I thought i would objectively state what's so hard about this one, since hard to assemble wasn't a deterrent for me!
There are a lot of screws that go into the metal frame. This is hard. I didn't want to damage the metal grove and make it loose, so decided to just try screwing it in with strength. This was long and frustrating, and some of the screws just would not go in even after changing the screwdriver heads. They had to be at a perfect angle for them to start moving and it was getting frustrating very quickly.
The allen wrench screws are hard to reach. the allen wrench doesn't have enough space to turn! And there are a lot of these too.
The manual is cluttered... there are too many parts and steps on a page and you have to go through slowly...Turn off if you are used to the simplicity of Ikea.
The left part goes in first and then the right end... so some of the bars stay hanging and it's hard to turn around or move the table. Again, this assembly is not Ikea simple. You have to read for some of the pieces, and looking at the pictures is not enough.
The metal is kind of tacky, not exactly great looking, but with age, it might get better and start looking antique :)
At the end of it, there are some gaps which dont look good - under the drawers (need for better craftmanship). Also the wheels arent exactly for moving the table around, they are fixed at an angle, which gives it stability, but you cant really use them for moving the table. One of the bars bent the metal in front, so it's not exactly great quality and strong. I was able to bend it back.
So after a long frustrating night, we had this up. It's good overall when finished, but they should simplify the design (especially the screw into metal parts), be more consistent, have better craftsmanship and work on a better solution for the allen wrench screws so that it can actually turn in the small space.

Review 5 for Better Homes and Gardens Rustic Country Antiqued Black/Pine Panel TV Stand for TVs up to 52"
I received the table promptly. However, when I unpacked it I was very surprised at ALL THE PIECES - nothing was put together. The drawers and the metal decorative pieces at the corner of the drawers even need to be assembled. I have had it for two weeks and can't assemble it. It is sitting in the corner of my living room in a sad mess. You need to let buyers know that the assembly required is VERY EXTENSIVE. I'm sure if it ever gets assembled I would love it. I may be returning it in pieces.

Review 6 for Better Homes and Gardens Rustic Country Antiqued Black/Pine Panel TV Stand for TVs up to 52"
We like our new tv stand. It's good quality..fair priced but even though it suppose to be rustic looking one of our drawers is a lot darker than the other. Took about 2 hours for my husband to put together.

Review 7 for Better Homes and Gardens Rustic Country Antiqued Black/Pine Panel TV Stand for TVs up to 52"
We bought this to use for gaming/cable components as our tv is hung on the wall. It looks great, and came together fairly easy, although in the interest of full disclosure, I have one of those husbands who can put anything together easily! It looks much more high end than the price would lead you to believe (similar to some Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn pieces I coveted). The drawers are wide and deep and great for video games, dvds, remotes, etc. As can be seen in the photo, though, the shelves are not high and cannot be adjusted, so keep that in mind. Our subwoofer had to go on the floor as it was too tall for the shelves. Oh well, for the price, I'm very happy.

Review 10 for Better Homes and Gardens Rustic Country Antiqued Black/Pine Panel TV Stand for TVs up to 52"
I picked the unit up at my local wal-Mart. Please bring a truck and a friend because the unit is very heavy. The instructions are very hard to understand and complicated to assemble. It took me over 2 hours to assemble by myself. The unit comes on casters but they are welded in a fixed position so do not try to move the unit with your $1000 telivision on it. I got this to pt on my patio so we can move it around easily, not the case. though it looks good it is not functional with the casters. For almost $200 and with the Beter Homes and gardens name I expected more.

Review 11 for Better Homes and Gardens Rustic Country Antiqued Black/Pine Panel TV Stand for TVs up to 52"
I saw this TV stand after much searching on furniture web sites; it was the lightest in color, besides the beach cottage white, had the rustic/industrial/country look we like. Besides that the price was GREAT! After reading the feedback from other customers who bought it (Okay, so the wheels don't work and they're there just for pretty, so what?) the biggest complaint was that it took a long time to put together. Yes, we needed a electric screwdriver to get that done faster but all in all it was pretty easy. The only thing I suggest to future buyers is look at all the pieces to assemble, read the directions, go slow and be patient. If you're not a patient person go get something already put together or you'll be throwing this out the window! My boyfreind and I had it assembled in less than 2 hours! For us, a great buy, a great piece of furniture, and it's different from all the darker stuff out there!

I would not recommend this product at all. There was a metal bracket welded to one of the side supports and as I was putting on the shelf, the metal bracket broke off It's not usable in this state and is being returned to the nearest Walmart.
The instructions are cumbersome. It's not easy to put together.
I liked the appearance but after the breaking of the metal bracket needed to hold it all together, I would not replace it with another unit.

I looked for a new TV stand for a long time, and this fits my needs. I also purchased the two side tech towers for more storage. So far we have put together the two tech towers, and it was not that difficult. It is best to have two people. Also take your time and follow the directions, and you will not have a problem. The first unit took about two and a half hours, the second one was much less time. They are beautiful and sturdy. I have to take apart my old unit and get it out before I put together the TV stand, but that will happen soon. I am very pleased with the look, the quality, and the value.
The most difficult part was attaching the metal shelf brackets to the metal frames. (Step 2) It took a fair amount of strength to inset the screws, but it is secure! My friend and I are both in our 50's, and we were able to complete. We worked on a table, not on the floor and it went well. I would definitely recommend this product.

Great Tv stand, very sturdy and good amount of storage. We have a 60" flat screen on ours and have no problems and is doesn't look too small for the tv. It did take about an hour to put together but completely worth it. We will be buying the other parts to the set.

I love it I have the nightstand and was amazed at how many steps to put it together but what people do not realize is the more steps to put it together the longer it will last.It is packed very securely with minimal chance for crush damage. This Tv stand is perfect for my bedroom decor and I am very happy I bought it. People keep complaining about the wheels but if they moved it would make it look cheesy and it is fully disclosed on the features that they are non functional. Read up on stuff before you buy something is my advice. Giving a bad review because you didn't do the homework is pretty bad. I give it very high marks because it is high end looking at a low price the instructions are very simple even though it has many steps and the top has plenty of room for decorations.
