The Hiteker 26" Class LCD 720p 60Hz HDTV delivers a high-quality picture in a 1366 x 768 resolution. The true 16:9 aspect ratio allows widescreen viewing. This high-definition LCD TV features 150-degree vertical and 160-degree horizontal angles to cut down on glare while maximizing viewing flexibility. The built-in digital tuner lets you watch digital broadcasts, including HDTV programs. Featuring a 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, this 26" screen LCD TV provides the brightest of whites and darkest of blacks with a brightness level of 400cd/m2. The 6ms response time lets you enjoy seamless image changes with respect to brightness and color. Plus, the Hiteker HDTV gives you flexible entertainment options, with two HDMI ports for peripherals like Blu-ray players, as well as a VGA port for your PC.

Not a good choice for elderly customer. Picture Aspect had to be adjusted frequently for different channels. Channel indicator display was not large enough or bold enough to see easily. Color was difficult to adjust - picture on most channels was mediocre. We did not have HD cable service so that may have been part of problem.

I was a little hesitant to buy this tv based on some prior reviews I read but glad I went ahead and purchased. The picture is good and it was easy to set up. I bought it for my son to hook his x box up to and it is exactly what we wanted. Great price too !

The buttons on the side of the TV are non-functional...they are physically present, but do not change the volume, channel, etc. Even the physical "Power" button on the TV is broken. This is clearly a manufacturing defect, proof positive that not every TV is tested before shipping out of the factory. Thankfully, these functions work perfectly fine when using the remote control.
I did not bother returning the TV because I was satisfied in most other regards. Plus, it was out of stock which made an exchange impossible. As a bedroom TV, it serves its purpose and is loud enough to be heard from the next room. Of course, bass is non-existent, like most models of this size. Picture quality is acceptable after some tweaking through the intuitive "Settings" menu. On the scale of cheap, 720p LCD sets, this one is about average...down-conversion from 1080i (output of pretty much all cable boxes today) is only fair and the refresh rate will not impress sports fans (motion blur).
It is thick relative to newer models, but not obtrusive and quite light in weight. There is no brand or logo on the front, which was a nice surprise...really lends a sleek, upscale look. The gloss black finish is well done and the stand is excellent...out of the box it even had padded rubber on the bottom to prevent scuff marks on furniture.
Overall, it's a respectable product for the (sale) price. But quality control issues are such that I would not recommend it to a friend.

Good TV, Picture is excellent, sound is poor (same as most). However, the setup manual is very inadequate. 1. The print is very difficult to read. 2. The pictures are very hard to understand. 3. A lot of information is left out. For instance you are directed to the next screen, but no directions as to how to get there. Who would guess it is with the back arrow. Had to call technical support twice to get the information that was left out. Customer support was however very helpful and everything worked out fine.

I highly recommend this TV. The picture quality is excellent. I've read that some thought the volume of sound was a little low, but mine is plenty loud. Also, it works great doubling as my PC monitor, using a VGA connector. The TV sets up quickly. You can use the TV's built-in tuner (without going through a digital box), after running the Auto Scan, then you’ll need to label each channel manually. I decided just to connect it from my little digital Comcast box, ran the Auto Scan and don’t have to manually label each channel (I have to use my Comcast's remote control to change channels, but the benefit is all my channel numbers stay in the correct sequence and are pre-labeled through the digital box, the same way I'm used to using). The only feature I wish it had is picture in picture, but it's still an excellent TV and value!
