Trolling motor used as auxilary for sailboat

I have a 23 ft racing sailboat weighing 1750 pounds. I use the motor to get out of the docks and of getting back to the dock when there is no wind. So far so good, although I would like more thrust. The motor pushes me about 3 knots with no wind. If I were to do this again, I would probably choose a motor with twice the thrust, only Walmart did not have one for sale. The Walmart experience far exceeded expectations. The motor came in three days with standard shipping.

I have typically been hesitant when buying a salt water trolling motor due to the increase in cost of the motors when compare to fresh water motors. However the Riptide was an excellent value and couldn't be passed up. I have a 17 ft aluminum boat that is older and heavier than the more modern day boats. The very first trip out with the new motor was eye opening. I was extremely happy with the amount of power and speed that it offered as well as how quite it was during use. I would definetly recommend this motor to anyone looking to use the motor for fishing or just recreational use. As always having a good battery helps too.

It pushed my Sea Eagle 420x deflatable kayak @ 2.7mph for 5+ miles. (Max 5mph). Works great.
