This is my fourth different wireless headset over the past year and I have yet to keep one beyond 30 days UNTIL NOW!!, I have owned the Turtle Beach X41's, XP500's and Astro A50's and have returned all 3 for various reasons.
The 41's and 500's both suffered from terrible interference in my situation. The first pair of Astro's I recieved were dead out of the box and when I recieved a working set they didn't have the great sound I expected from a $300.00 pair of headphones. I understand that sound quality is subjective and everyone is different but for that kind of money it better blow your socks off. I wanted to love them but they were muddy sounding to me no matter how I configured them, and it just bugged me that they weren't truly wireless.
I was hesitant to buy the XP400's due to my previous experiences with the other TB models. I decided to take the chance when I read about the dual frequency feature, hoping it would eliminate the interference as it said. Hallelujah!!! They honestly work without ANY interference. I have so many wireless gadgets fighting for airspace in my house it isn't funny and these things work without as much as a hiss. The next great thing about them is that they are WIRELESS and that means no talkback cable attached to the controller from the headset either. The 500's had this feature but I was so annoyed by the interference I couldn't get excited about it. The next wonderful feature is the built-in rechargeable batteries. No more buying and changing batteries every couple of days. TB also included a 10' charging cable that can be plugged in for charging while playing the game. Some might worry about the batteries eventually dying but I purchased the extra 3 year replacement plan for $19 bucks and if they fail Wal-Mart will fix or replace. Worry free!!
If you are looking for a great headset then I would take a chance on these TB's. They are the best headsets I have found to date and I can't imagine anyone but the most critical having anything bad to say about them, Once again sound quality is subjective but these have great sound in my opinion for gaming and they are about $120 cheaper than the Astro's which aren't wireless and have questionable sound to my ears.

This is my second set of Turtle Beach headphones and I must say that they have made some serious improvements upon my old stereo pair. The surround sound is great and seems to be pretty accurate. I purchased this particular pair since it is dual band, yet there is still a slight amount of static heard which I have been unable to eliminate. Overall, a good set of cans for the money, the Bluetooth feature is awesome.

The headset is good but for what I use it for I need better. The bluetooth connecting to a computer is not so great the sound is low; even with turning up the volume, and yes you can turn up the volume on the computer, but the quality is still bad. The second problem I have with the bluetooth on the device is while your playing a game you can answers calls, but cant stream any music from any portable device especially so your iphone or any android phones might as well be a paper weight. When you try using the x42 3.5 mm jack it does not work if your playing a game it turns it off. the only good think is that its truly wireless but the bad part is not able to play music while gaming which must people like to do. For wining the CES award for 2011 I expected better
