It has a marked and notched locking bar for easy installation. The Blue Evenflo Safety Gate also has non-marring rubber bumpers to create a secure fit. The gate is nothing fancy but is easy to work. I use it for my small dog and have not had any problems with it. An older child might get fingers caught if you are not careful, though.

My chihuahua is not allowed to roam free during the day, but locking her up means locking up the cat and I couldn't bring myself to do that to them. I put one gate in front of the cat area, and the other at my bedroom door. It's perfect for keeping my dog in while allowing the cat to jump over the gate and roam free!

The one I got is kind of crooked so I can't get both sides to grip the walls, the adjuster in the middle keeps slipping out. It's ok, if you just want to show a boundary, but I wouldn't expect it to hold any weight. It falls over if I barely bump it because it doesn't secure.

I ordered 2 of these & returned them both the next day. When I tried to place it in my bedroom doorway the wooden bar just broke in half. It's like toothpick wood! Way too soft for a gate! Needs to be made of a stronger wood!

I just moved into an apartment that is being shown for purchace (a house rather) I have a jack russell and needed something to keep him in a room, yet let the potential buyers be able to see the room. This works anyway I put him and it was only $10!! Amazing!!

We have an old cat who can't jump too high to escape the kids we babysit full time, and I have really bad knees, so climbing over a gate isn't the best for me. But this gate is tall enough to provide a safe haven for our elderly kitty (that he can actually get into) and also a firm barrier to keep out the 1,2, and 3 yr olds we babysit. It is a great price and the right height.

This gate was purchased to keep my two lb puppy in a room with hardwood flooring, not carpet when I was at work. It works for that, but a toddler or a large pet could probably get the gate pulled down. It doesnt lock real tightly. The first time I used it, my puppy pushed it over! It takes some working to get it right, but serves purpose and the price is surely the best thing. I bought two of these gates hoping it would fit on my deck. It did not but it works keeping the puppy contained without caging her inside my house.

I bought this to keep my daughters little pip squeak dog from bothering my old cat.
The cat can jump the gate into my room to get away from it, but the dog can't jump it.
So it does what I need it for and it was very inexpensive.
The wood is flimsy The latch thingy doesn't allow for tight & secure positioning and the criss cross netting part is flimsy plastic
But kitty has my room to hiself

I was going to buy one but for the price I had to buy two. We have 6 dogs (5 chi's and one doxie) and sometimes while we're upstairs with them some of them will tinkle on one of the stairs. To avoid this I wanted a gate to put up so they can't get to the stairs while we're all upstairs and this works perfectly. I struggle with getting the gate to expand and I've found it easier to turn it 'upside down' to get it to open or close quicker. We temp fostered 2 puppies last weekend and the gates arrived, to my pleasant surprise, on Saturday so we were able to use them to keep them in one room.
