Black & Decker Black & Decker 20V Smart Select Cordless Drill
This Black & Decker Cordless Drill has Smart Select technology that lets you select the right application setting with a turn of the dial. It has variable speed, which allows for drilling in a variety of materials. The all-metal keyed chuck provides tighter bit grip and long lasting durability. Its 20V lithium ion battery keeps a charge for up to 18 months, so it's always ready to use. In addition, the soft grip handle provides added comfort during use.

I needed a battery powered portable drill and was faced with replacing the power source for my old drill at 60% of the cost of newer, more powerful tool. So, I chose the path toward a 20 volt system, and never looked back. The pluses: light weight, quick charge lithium battery, soft side carrying/storing case, drill bit included, and it's VERY powerful. The negatives: a bit pricey, but it is worth the cost. I now reach for this drill for all of my projects, rather than hauling out the extension cord and my traditional plug in drill. My wife's small hand can operate this drill as well. With the correct variable setting, this machine will put 3 and 1/2 inch deck screws into wood in less than 5 seconds. Very nice.

I had a 9 volt and after 3 hours it needed to be charged again. This Black & Decker is great for example I used it last weekend in June and I had to used it on July 4th and I did not have to charge it again.The charge holds for a while.

I opened the box of my new drill when I got home and was most pleased with the quality of the drill. The charger and battery were most impressive. I tried sliding the battery on and accidently pressed the switch and it ran without any charging at all. So it must hold a charge for a long time. I love using this drill and look forward to my next project when I can use it again. It is surprisingly a strong drill for it's size. It can handle any job I have done so far, including drilling a new door to install the doorknob assembly. This was done with ease and faster than ever. No need for several batteries. The one battery was sufficient for all my jobs except building a deck that was totally screwed together with star screws. I bought an additional battery but I really didn't need it. The drill actually lasted most of the day before it began to lose it's thrust. The spare battery was nice to have though. I would strongly recommend this drill to a friend as a first line drill.
