So, I was under the impression that the Vizio 32 inch TV I got for my mom three years ago was TERRIFIC!!!!!! In trying to get something a little bigger, I opted for the Scepter 50 inch to surprise my husband on Father's day that I was indeed a good electronics picker-outer....lololollllll. Anyways, we recieved the TV right before fathers day and opened it....HUGE HUGE HUGE.....the picture quality is great and my husband was AMAZED at the sound quality. Fantastic...I would really really recommend this product........especially to a wife who is trying to impress her hubby..haa haa

For the price I couldn't ask for more. I wasn't sure about how it swivels because i have two young kids but its stable and you have to use pressure to turn it, we put it in our living room, set up was easy its not ti heavy I a 23 yr old female can lift it and it looks great!

The TV Stand is a major hazard

My TV broke off of the included swivel TV stand. This would have been a hazard if a child was underneath it at the time. I emailed Sceptre last night to see if the stand could be replaced.
The picture on the TV is fine after a few a few weeks. The sound took much tweaking to get rid of a tin sound.

picture is okay but sound is a nightmare and the sound went out after a week and it wasn't even hot this is a nightmare I would stay clear of this and wish I just saved for a better tv now I'm stuck with a tv I have to keep switching wires into my soundbar just to have sound sigh don't listen to all the good reviews like I have cause It cost me big time

I had purchased a 32" flat screen Scepter TV for my grandchildren about a year and a half ago and is showed a beautiful picture. The picture on the new 50" that I just purchased is a lot darker than I personally like. And I can't seem to adjust the picture enough to brighten it up to my preference. It primarily just depends on what you are watching. t appears that a lot of the older shows in rerun show extra dark. Movies vary, does't matter. It were not for this particular problem I would have given it at lease 4 stars

The TV took a couple of days longer to deliver than expected but the Walmart customer care kept us informed and when it did come we were very pleased with our putchase. The set up instructions could have been a little better but we got through them and the TV is working great. The the color and picture are great and we get HD channels we have not gotten before (our old set was not HD). The sound quality is not as good as it could be but with some adjustment we got it to where it is acceptable. Overall we are very happy with our buy and for the prce it is probably the best we could ever expect. We have told our friends and family about our purchase and how happy we are.

Easy hook-up, this unit displays nicely. I got the wall mount kit with it, but have it on a bookcase. As long as you don't need to turn it at different angles frequently, the base is fine. The sound quality was real tinny out of the box (as many others complain about), but it is easy to adjust the equalizer to your liking. The unit is great for the price & features. No complaints!

The TV met my expectations except for the fact that I have encountered a problem with the antenna (co ax) connection. I had the Direct TV installer change the connection to an HDMI since I was unable to remove the co ax cable connector from the back of the TV set. Very unusual. Seems like the thread was crossed, so the installer could not remove it and just had to cut the cable and so now, the co ax connector on the TV is unusable. It's a minor repair and I assume I am covered by the warranty. Can you please confirm and also advise what I should do. THANK YOU

Our family is not particularly tech savvy and so when it came time to replace our television we were not looking for the newest and greatest. I read the comments from other people who had purchased this set, and we decided this was the best for us. It exceeds my expectations: the set arrived very quickly, the directions for set up were very clear, and they included the screwdriver we needed for the set up of the base. The picture is very good, very clear, and when we adjusted the picture quality my elderly family members were able to see shows when the background is dark. The audio is good, but you do need to fine tune to find a setting which is good for you. We are really very pleased with the television and I would never hesitate to buy this brand again.

Good picture if screen wasn't cracked

I had read almost all the reviews on this TV before I purchased it. I was so thrilled to get it home and get it hooked up. When I turned the TV on, I heard a slight crackling sound and was dismayed to see a split running through the picture like a lightning bolt. It went down the entire center of the screen and split off like an upside-down V down the lower half of the screen. I touched it and it kind of did a slight static noise, but I could not actually feel a crack in the screen--it was internal. I had friends over to watch a movie, and it was very distracting to say the least. Other than that, the picture was great. I would have loved to have kept it, but I decided to return it for a TV that was in the store, just in case this happened again. I just don't know what the problem was--we handled it very carefully throughout the store, into the car, and into my house. I had also purchased a Sceptre sound bar that is phenomenal and I kept it for my new Sanyo TV and it works excellent on that. ALSO ANOTHER NOTE IF THERE'S ANYONE AS UN-TECH SAVVY AS ME OUT THERE-- I had NO idea that you have to have an upconverting DVD player so that regular DVDs play in Hi-Def. Now I know.

I usually don't write reviews but I'm dissatisfied with Sceptre. I purchased this tv at Walmart.com and picked it up on Monday 5/13/13. Well it played very well the sound was good but on Friday afternoon the sound was completely gone----picture still playing well. Call tech support Friday when I came home from work was told technician want be able to service tv until 5 to 10 business days. Customer service reopens on Monday. Really!

A very good TV at a GREAT price. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a 50" TV that doesn't want to spend a lot of money. If you want something extra special then you will have to pay more but this is a very good value for your dollar.

I just got my 50 inch sceptre yesterday and i can say i love it. It is much better than my old 32 inch tv, and this is my first 1080p tv. For the price and size it is fantastic(got it for $448), a little heavy though so had to have my bro help me. The sound quality, as described in other reviews, is accurate, it is not great but that doesn't matter because i have a logitech suround sound speaker system. I mostly use it for a monitor and it makes wow look excellent. Would defeinatly recomend that you buy this.

This is my first HD TV that is over 40". I am thrilled with the picture quality. The sound quality, however, is rather disappointing. I am not sure how it compares to other TVs, though. I would recommend some sort of sound bar or Home Theater system with this TV. It is light enough that I was able to wall mount it above my fireplace.
