This is an amazing product. You will get some peeling around day 4. Just use an exfoliater like St. Ives Apricot scrub to get the skin off. After that, it's smooth sailing. Just make sure you use a moisturizer every day. I use it almost every day...sometimes just once a day if my skin feels a little dry. Cleared my acne up very fast..I have adult, hormonal, stress acne...Will use this forever.

The cleanser is as every bit as good as ProActiv, but I don't use the rest of the system. I am very disappointed that the cleanser can no longer be purchased alone. I am going back to ProActiv despite the cost because of this.

I had deep cyst-like blemishes on my face for months! After using these products (minus the toner) for less than a week (only at night) my deep, annoying blemishes are gone!! I'm going to buy this for my brother now. I'm completely impressed with the quality of the sulfur mask, cleanser & lotion. The toner is very gentle, too gentle for my taste, so I use my clinique clarifying lotion 4 instead : )

I've only used this product for two nights but have already seen a huge difference. My skin tone has evened out--no more blotchy redness to worry about. All of the blemishes I had when I started using this are gone. The only thing I still have are the still healing spots from past blemishes that scabbed. There is a little skin peeling but not much and not as noticeable as what I'd had to deal with before. The instructions say to use twice a day, but I only use it at night after my shower. I am honestly surprised that this works as well as it does. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who has acne that doesn't seem to respond to other treatments.

I had the worst acne. Facial redness, painful acne and semi sensitive and dry skin. If I scratched one area on my face, the whole area would turn red and itch more. My acne was getting really horrible! :( I started using this product and I could tell a difference in just 3 days. After 1 week ALL of my pimples were gone!!! I still had redness but that went away after a few more days. I only use it 1 time a day because I didn't want it to irritate my skin. I haven't bleached any clothes because iuse it in the shower but I have bleached the towel I dry my face with. Lol. Now I use a white towel. I love this cleanser and will never use anything else again, as long as it keeps working. I wish I could post the pictures I have of my "old face" because its soo much better now. (Pictures are on my old phone) The price is great also. It doesn't really have a scent and the beads are small but it does its job. :)

It did dry out my skin for the first two weeks I used it, but after that it got rid of and managed my acne just as well as Proactiv did but at a way better price! I would definitely recommend the equate acne treatment system. Your skin just might get dry initially but it will go away if you continue to use it as directed.

this does work great for my skin, the kit I bought came with a bonus sulfur treatment mask which my face happened to react to in a bad way. the only downside to this kit is that it makes my face unbearably itchy, that may just be my skin though. But it does work great and it is a great alt. for proactive.

I bought this because it was 11 dollars compared to Proactive which is 30-40 dollars. I normally use product with salicylic acid but recently found out my skin responds to benzoyl peroxide product better. I found cleanser to be great it exfoliated without drying my skin to much. The toner was great to and it smells really good which is a plus. The repairing lotion however is severely lacking. It is very watered down and left my skin feeling dry and tight. I ended up using acne lotion from an old set that I tried along with this set.

I've never done a product review but this product deserved it so....
A couple of weeks ago i purchased proactiv for it's deep cleansing brush and after opening the box and seeing the system everyday I decided to look up some reviews. I was disappointed to find they majority of the reviews were negative. Right after I started searching google, youtube, etc. for a really good acne cleanser. Thank goodness I found this one! I cannot compare this product to proactiv - because I've never used it - but it is absolutely amazing. I bought this last night at my local walmart and found that there was only one left and it was in pretty bad condition (Only walmart in my city that had it). I figured since I had a lot of breakouts that needed to be cleared before I went back to school I should get that one. I was happy though to see that all of the products inside were there but the box but it just had been dropped a few times. Anyway, I first used the equate cleanser ( which was a strange consistency ) and the (Proactiv) deep cleansing brush together, and followed up with the equate toner. The toner was nice but dried right after application but felt nice and cool on my skin. I ended the system with the lotion. I was thrown off guard how watery the lotion was and irritated at how quickly it dried. After 5 minutes I realized I had dry patches because the lotion wasn't moisturizing. I then reapplied the toner AND the lotion and everything was copasetic. This morning i wake to realize my forehead was completely clear of acne and all that's left is dark marks (from previous pimples) on one of my cheeks. I expected this system take a week to work but I love that it worked much sooner. Although, I mention the weird consistency and etc. this is still a very great product and I will be buying it again!

Face has never been so bad

I have always had facial acne, begining at the age of 13. I generally only have acne on my forehead, it's subtle, not like it is now. Upon use of this product my acne not only spread throughout my face, but now my forehead is big and red acne...the redness cannot even fade with concealor, so I stopped wearing that, thinking okay well that's a cause of acne. Now, wearing no makeup on my face and using this product twice a day, my face has never been worse. i have been using it for about three weeks now, my parents didn't want to give up on the product after a few days but it is just not a good product...

I've never had jawline cystic acne until after having kids. I've used all sorts of products and none worked. I've even considered Accutane treatment but backed out at the very last minute. I then discovered this product from online reviews. I figured for under $12, doesn't hurt to give it a try. I could not believe the results that I was seeing! It was like magic! It didn't take too many days before the acne started disappearing and best of all, it cleared up most of the scaring too. I would recommend to any one to try this product. I wish that I had came across this 2 years ago when I first started having jawline cystic acne.
Usage note: Initially, I started using twice a day but then to once a day. It does dry up the skin a little if used to0 often. I've used this product for about 6 months now, though, I only use it once a week now.

For the first time in over a year I had a "clear face week"! I struggle with moderate cystic acne and my problem is a product will work for me for a while, then all of a sudden the acne comes back. I'd come off of Pro Activ bc after that stopped working used a benzyl peroxide wash for a few months, then after that stopped working was about to go back on Pro-Activ. Trying to avoid its high cost and locked-in billing, I started looking online for alternative retailers and ran across the Equate System. I figured for $12 bucks I'd give it a try. Within a week, my cystic bumps had dried up! Now it's going 3.5 months and the bumps are just starting to come back =-( so I need to move to another product for a few months. Let me stress, it's not the product it's my skin. This Equate system was an extremely pleasant surprise and for this price it will stay in my rotation of face products.

Starting seeing results within 2 days!! After day 4 started getting too dry so I used the system at night and in the morning I use a Cetaphil facial cleanser, still use the toner and moisturizer. Works great. Have been struggling with cystic acne all over my face from my rheumatoid arthritis, nothing seemed to help. Not only was it ugly, but it HURT, this cleared my entire face in 9 days, I had several dime size scabs on my face, now I have none:)

I have tried Proactiv and University Medical AcneFree - regular strength, and like this product the best. I have not had any breakouts since I started using it - the others I always did. This is a big deal for me because I have never found anything that worked very well.
I find I use more of this product than the AcneFree because it is less "soap-like" and more like salts that disintegrate the oil. So it is not quite as cheap as it may seem but easier to rinse off. It says to massage it in a little longer too, so I have been trying to do this.
Anyway, I would give this product a try not so much for the cost savings but because it treats acne better - and because it is easier to rinse off. (AcneFree is kind of slimy)

Hi everyone. I love my Proactive, however on a single parent budget, it's simply too expensive. After seeing great reviews for this product, I decided to try it out. The active ingredient is the same as Proactive, but the inactive must not be, because I had an allergic reaction to it :( I'm so disappointed. The skin around my eyes specificly is swollen and itchy, which is odd since I didn't use the product on my eyes. The rest of my face wasn't as bad, but still a bit red and itchy. Basically, I just wanted to let you know that if you are a proactive user and want to try switching to this, I recommend doing a spot test on your skin before using it on your whole face. I'm glad it's working for most people, though. Don't let my reaction to it keep you from at least trying it. Good luck, guys! :):)

My face also got very dry and irritated around the eye, but for what the system was doing for my acne I was willing to tolerate it! I now use an additional eye, which has seemed to alleviate the problem.

This stuff WORKS I am a 21 year female who has been dealing with acne since I was 15 my birth control pills makes them go away but when I am off them man on man my whole face is so bad! My sister recommended this stuff she is a 17 yr old female who has been dealing with acne since she was 14 and she had it worst then I did and this stuff CLEARED her face up she has beautiful flawless skin better skin then me now. I used this stuff and now my face too is clear. I still get 1 or 2 around my period but other then that my skin is acne free. *WARNING* this stuff at first will itch and burn your face and really dry it out it did it to me and my sister but after a week or so it went away and the acne cleared right up. I REALLY recommend this product.

You get proactiv without paying for the name on the bottle. I am thirty and I never had acne problems until last August. All of a sudden my forehead had all these bumps on it that wouldn't go away no matter what facial cleanser I used. So my girlfriend had me try her proactiv a few weeks ago and it worked wonders. I was just about to go buy a supply of proactiv for myself when I was on here looking for other items and happened upon this kit that is the same as proactiv. I bought it and it is working just as good as the proactiv. I couldn't be happier. GO EQUATE!!!!
