I bought this computer today 07/13/2012. I've read some reviews on this computer and was a bit skeptical. I upgraded from a netbook mini laptop that I've gotten from Verizon Wireless and I'm so glad I did! Some said the keyboard keys are a bit getting used to. I say the keys are normal but that's my opinion. I've gotten used to it on the first day, the only difference is the keyboard have a number key something I didn't have on my netbook. I have absolutely NO issues with this computer, it's fast efficient and smooth in performance especially when surfing the web, playing videos on YouTube and watching movies.

I purchased this laptop online. The price is good considering the specs. The quad processor is fast and responsive when running multiple programs. The keyboard takes a bit of getting used to with the placement of the mouse pad. The computer runs very quiet and battery life is about 3 hours with continuous use. All the ports are nice and tight. The display leaves a bit to be desired. Color isn't great or vivid. If you're a gamer or into watching videos/dvds you may want to try before you buy. A solid computer for the casual user.

Pros: The AMD quad processor works great when running multiple threads. When display is in video mode, the screen image is top of the line HD. Very crisp and clear.
Cons: Speakers are weak. Keyboard or touchpad placement is a little off. I have had this for a couple of weeks and still find my hand/keyboard placement off from time to time and find that accidental mouse interference more frequent than with any other laptop. I am constantly hitting the 'num lock' key instead of the backspace key. But having the number pad is a great perk.
Other: I have read some reviews in which users complained about the limited or short time of battery operation. I have not noticed this. But then, my last laptop was 5 years old and I got used to a very limited 30 minute battery use time frame.

Samsung is known for making good products and this one stands up to that reputation. I've bought a few computers from wal mart, and the best thing about this one is the absence of bloatware on it when you start it up. It was really nice to not have to uninstall a bunch of junk when I first turned on the computer. The laptop has a good solid feel and runs very smoothly with the amd processor. This computer should last a while. Thank you Samsung for another quality product.

Review 6 for Samsung Silver 15.6" NP305V5A-A0CUS Laptop PC with AMD Quad-Core A6-3410MX Accelerated Processor and Windows 7 Home Premium with Windows 8 Pro Upgrade Option
I got this laptop to replace my 4 year old Gateway. I've only had this laptop for about two weeks, but so far its worked very well. The reason I picked this one out was because it has decent specs, especially for the price, and I like that it has a number pad on the side. Some have mentioned that the touchpad is a little bit sensitive, or too close to the keyboard, but there is a way to shut it off right from the keyboard if you're going to be doing a lot of typing. (Fn+F5) Or you also have the option to have it automatically disabled when you have an external mouse connected (Through the Control Panel), which I like a lot. So far I've just been on the internet a lot with this laptop. The other night I watched a movie through Vudu which looked really good on the screen. Every once in awhile I'll notice that when I'm watching a video or movie of some type the sound will get tinny, but that only seems to happen if the volume is all the way up. Another deciding factor for buying this laptop was another reviewer had mentioned that World of Warcraft ran well on it with full graphics. I myself am an avid Sims fan, but I have yet to try the Sims 3 on here, so this review may be updated. So far I am enjoying this laptop a lot!

I knew at this price I would have to manage my expectations but I am very dissatisfied with this laptop. It is extremely slow and sluggish from internet browsing to booting up to just running programs. Switching to performance mode made the speed bearable but still not at all what I expected. Watching movies is not too great either it doesnt render black colors well at all and looks pretty pixelated to the point that they have some nerve putting "HD" anywhere near the description of the display. I tried to give it a chance but it is ultimately the lack of speed while doing basic tasks, mediocre screen definition, as well as well of the off and on irresponsive glitches to be too much. I'll be returning this laptop asap and searching for another. And on a physical note it looks pretty cool but unfortunately is a magnet for fingerprints inside and out. If you're not a tech type at all, looking for just a laptop for the very basics, and dont mind waiting a bit for this computer to catch up then by all means but if not I wouldnt recommend this laptop.

The overall look is very sleek. Very appealing. I love the keyboard (w/numpad), nice and big mouse pad. Also the keyboard isn't annoyingly loud when typing like most are. Nice size RAM and HDD. Radeon graphics w/ quad core processor. The pc itself runs very smooth, and quite suitable for gaming. It runs World of Warcraft maxed out perfectly :) Overall awesome laptop for awesome price.

I was looking to replace my Compaq Presario that I got at Walmart about 3-4 years ago (it was a good computer also), so I was looking into new options. The store didn't have the HP that I wanted, and I had limited time, so I chose to try out a Samsung. I'm really pleased with it so far; the quad-core processor really sold me the most, especially for the price. I'll list my first impressions:
Good: -Battery life seems good, at about 3.5 hours on the pre-set Power Save option. -Keyboard style is much easier to type on than my old laptop. -Not full of trial program clutter! -Comes with a trial of Microsoft Office installed, so all I had to do was put my product key in. -Very fast, though it does chug once in a while. -A built-in start-up optimizer, which quickens start-up time. -The fans are on the side! It maintains a very low temperature if the fan vent doesn't get blocked. -Very, very quiet.
Bad(ish): -The keyboard can be finicky at times; you have to make sure to type firmly. -The mouse is a bit oversensitive for my tastes, but some may prefer it that way. -I don't like the silver mouse buttons because they get fingerprints all over them, but that's also just my preferences. -When you hit Caps Lock, it has a weird pop-up screen, but it doesn't interfere with typing or anything, and fades after a few seconds. It can probably be turned off... -The screen isn't as good as my last laptop, but it's not god-awful like some say it is.
All in all, it's a good buy so far. Considering I only use it for homework and recreation for the most part (I have yet to install/use Photoshop or any games, so I'm not sure how it handles those), it's a great replacement for someone whose laptop suddenly fries. Like me. :)
