This receiver is quite. I sometimes have to check if it is on. It does well on picking up the sounds you want to hear....your baby! I can hear my baby stirring before he wakes up. It can vibrate and be used as a 2 way. The downside is you have to charge the receiver daily as the batter life runs out quickly. My previous unit lasted for 3 days before having to charge it, but it was not as quite. As a comparison I would pick the quite over white noise, just make sure you have 2 receivers instead of just one, if you happen to forget to charge the other one.

I never had a monitor with my older kids so I had no idea what to get for our "surpise" baby except hope the reviews were a good start. Because of the layout of our house I didn't feel like I'd be able to hear my baby when he woke up once we put him in his crib & with all the bad things I've heard & problems I've had with satellite & even wireless devices, where I live, I was really scared to trust ANY monitor. I would like to report that this monitor works awesome!! Very happy I can hear him very clearly without having paid an arm & leg! I can even hear the coffee maker go off next to the baby's room at the highest setting. A Great monitor choice for me!

My husband and I have wished we had a monitor where we could talk back to our children for years!....so this is great! We use it with two of our kids to answer back to them at night or tell them to stop arguing or whatever...Lol...it makes them feel more secure too because they know we hear and can respond to them immediately. It's awesome that it charges when it's plugged in and then you can unplug it and take it whereever with you. Only downside is that it doesn't get as loud as we would like, but it is loud enough for us. All in all, I wish we would've known about this a long time ago!

Fantastic product, and would definitely recommend it. If you have children smaller then 1 or 2 years old, I would suggest keeping the monitor fairly close to their bed/crib so it picks up even the slightest noises. There is virtually no "white noise" or feedback, which is awesome!

It is ok. The battery doesn't last very long let it charge all night and the battery only lasts 2 naps maybe 3 hours (if you dont have it on charge in between. Love the fact that you can talk to baby. Plus the signal is run on digital and if I am outside maybe 30 feet from my sons room I goes in and out of signal. Love the sensitivity feature you can hear baby wriggling around the in crib.

We had this monitor for less than 30 days before it broke. It will not stay linked to the monitor base and will beep all night long until you reset the monitor. This is the 2nd Vtech product that we have purchased that has malfunctioned shortly after we purchased it.

I'm a busy grandmother, but when my Grand baby comes over, his safety is my main concern. I was constantly checking on him in my bedroom when I would put him down for a nap, but with this monitor now, I can cook my dinner and feel good and relaxed about being able to hear his every move and noise in the other room.

Purchased and used for 10 months and it worked fine. I unplugged it to take for a visit to grandparents house and it wouldn't pair up. I looked on the internet to see if there were similar problems and there were a lot of them just like mine. Power is removed from the unit and then they won't pair up anymore. Complete garbage do not waste your money. As far as i am concerned it shouldn't even be sold.

I actually got this so that I could hear my dogs when they were outside in their kennels and to be able to quiet them when they started barking. I work from home in the basement at one end of the house and they are in kennels outside the house at the other end and the sound travels crisp and clear. My receiver is very quiet unless the dogs are really making noise, not just walking around or drinking water, so it does not disrupt me when I'm working. I think this would be a perfect baby monitor for those who don't want to be worried by the slightest movement of a sleeping or resting baby and especially good for those who want to be able to communicate with their child to let them know they have heard and are on their way. Wish I would have had access to this when my kids were still in their cribs!!!

I bought this monitor to replace one of the Sony monitors that we have for our two children. The Sony monitor (transmitter) quit working and customer service was not helpful in getting us a replacement. Since I was not completely happy with that monitor, I tried this one. My older daughter is 5, but I still want a monitor for her since her bedroom is on another floor- I am thinking a monitor until she mover out, but she may not like that! I like the talk feature on this monitor, especially for my older child. In terms of reception, it is better than the Sony monitor ever was, since that one made a crazy beeping sound until you placed it in just the right spot. I do like the vibrate feature, but may not use it with an older child that no longer naps. I may buy another one to replace the other Sony monitor for my younger child in the near future, since this one has a longer range of reception and better features. I have only had this monitor 1 day, so I cannot say anything on the longevity of the product.

Really impressed with ease of operation, clarity of sounds, range, and battery life. Wanted to monitor my parents after my Mom had surgery and with my Dad suffering from dementia. Set the base unit on the nightstand next to their bed and the remote in their guestroom where I slept, down the hall, about 40 feet away, and blocked by 3 walls. Could clearly hear all activity and monitor their situation to learn if they needed help. Liked the ability to press the Talk Button and let them know that I was coming. Kept it plugged in during the night for the first night, then used it on battery the next night in a different location. The battery was still working after 8 hours of use. Was also able to hook it on my belt for use on battery during the day. Great product, great price. Highly recommended.

I bought this monitor to replace a different brand of digital monitor that had recently broken. This monitor is great! My kids have white noise in their room and you can set this monitor to ignore the white noise and only come on when the kids make noise, it is great! I'm a light sleeper, so I cannot stand background noise on a baby monitor and this monitor is completely silent, love it!
